Kyle Bartzsch

I found the Fathers House and I started drumming in TFHStudents. That’s where I realized that I had found my calling, I want to be a youth pastor. Just being involved with this church and youth, completely changed my life and affirmed what I want to be. Now, I’m a youth ministry intern and hopefully this is the first step in doing what I want to do for the rest of my life.

Loren Blankfield

I’ve always felt like I’ve had influence from always being open and outgoing. I feel like God has put a special calling on my life to build people up and make them feel better about themselves and realize that what ever they are and whoever they are… is fine & acceptable. Because I’m able to kind of be myself in a crowd, I would want that to help other people be themselves.

Curran Tryka

I was introduced to this internship and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life, I can only say positive things about it and it basically allowed me to take what I learned in bible school and apply it to the local church. Something I have learned is that the dreams God has for me are astronomical and there is no way I’m going to be able to do them without his strength.

Elizabeth Skowron

I remember falling on my knees and surrendering everything to God, ever since then I’ve been on fire for God and trying to pursue him, learn more about him and grow deeper with him. I’m really truly excited for the journey I have ahead of me and I know that he has greater plans in store than I could ever imagine.

.

I was suppose to go early for college, there was a trip to ADK with all the incoming freshmen and God placed on my heart the idea to just scratch that and go to ALIVE camp to serve. I don’t know why at the moment I said yes, but I did. The next day, this internship, MessageMakers came out of nowhere and it’s been incredible to see how God really had a place and wanted me to be here. To just see the growth in both my faith and as a person. I’ve seen how real God is… and I’ve only ever heard it, now I’ve experienced it.

So that’s inspired me to revisit some things in my life. MessageMakers has definitely made a huge impact on my life.

After spending three years with Jesus, his disciples had been exposed to miracles and had witnessed many life changing moments. When the time came for Jesus to leave earth, He made a promise that the Holy Spirit would come to them and give them power to be witnesses for Him. In the third part of the Day 50 series, Pastor Pierre recounts this story and discusses the power that comes from the Holy Spirit. Reminding us of the promise made to Saul in the Old Testament in 1 Samuel 10:6 -

“At that time the Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them. You will be changed into a different person.”

The message concludes with a powerful story of a family from our congregation that responded when prompted by the Holy Spirit to be a witness to another family. The results of this decision were life changing and provide incredible inspiration for us as a congregation to respond to the Holy Spirit when prompted.

The second message in the Day 50 series, a series about the Holy Spirit, Denis Johnson, Jr delivers a powerful message challenging the church to consider three questions:

(1) What are we being?
Hearing Jesus’ charge to His disciples in Acts 1:8, we realize that as a part of the church we are His disciples. Disciples who have the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit that provides the power to be and to do what God is calling us to be and do.

(2) What are we seeing?
Using the story of Elisha in 2 Kings 6 and the example of GF Watts’ painting “Hope”, Denis encourages us to pray that our eyes be open to see the world and each situation with discerning eyes, the way that God sees each situation. Commentators say what they see and what everyone else sees. We are challenged to relinquish the role of commentator and instead, embrace the role of a prophet. People who catch a glimpse of God’s dream and God’s perspective and declare what God says.

(3) What are we saying?
In Matthew 6 Jesus instructs His disciples on how to pray. Denis dissects each portion of this prayer and encourages us to pray as Jesus instructs. Aligning our prayers with God’s agenda and will. Not bending or convincing God towards our will, but instead, us being bent towards Heaven’s will.

Join in on this perspective-bringing and life-changing message as we continue exploring the power of the Holy Spirit.

Two very important historical events were recorded in the Bible by Luke (a disciple of Jesus and a medical doctor)- Jesus coming to Earth and the coming of the Holy Spirit. When the angel revealed to Joseph that Jesus was coming to Earth to dwell with mankind, Jesus was called “Emmanuel” which means God with us. God’s desire from the beginning was to be with us. But, God has a greater desire than proximity to you- He desires to dwell IN you. When Jesus told His disciples that he was leaving earth, He declared that it was to our advantage. You see, when Jesus was with mankind, in order to stay close to Him it was necessary to move when He moved. Instead, God sent His Holy Spirit to dwell in us. Where we go, He goes. The Holy Spirit comes to our aid, the Gift of God to us. We cannot afford to live without this gift.

This powerful introductory message to the Day 50 series concludes with an invitation to encounter the Holy Spirit and the opportunity to invite God’s presence and Spirit to dwell within us. If you are in need of the power and peace that God promises to His followers, this is a message you shouldn’t miss. Discover more about God’s desire to be with mankind and the gift He gave to us through His Holy Spirit.
