<p><strong>+5th Annual Blue Family &#8216;Fun&#8217;Raiser—</strong>PilmerPR volunteered 80+ hours for this concert which donates all proceeds to the Blue Line Ladies and its mission to<br />
purchase bulletproof armor plates for police departments to better protect police<br />
officers during duty.</p>
<p>+<strong>PRSA</strong>—PilmerPR is very involved in PRSA, with the CEO speaking at the PRSA International Conference in San Diego in October 2019.</p>
<p>+<strong>Y-Serve</strong>—One PilmerPR intern is a program director for an organization out of Brigham Young University&#8217;s Y-Serve intiative. The intern has coached 50+ children in a variety of youth sports and volunteered 200+ hours.</p>

<p>“It is part of the PilmerPR mission to give back to our<br />
community,” said Pilmer, CEO of PilmerPR. “I was thrilled to take part in this<br />
kind of program and pass some of what I’ve learned over decades of industry<br />
experience onto to next generation of business owners.” </p>

invested in supporting community causes. Some of the causes championed by<br />
PilmerPR include a push for environmental protection in the state of Utah,<br />
mentoring of college students and young professionals, and support for the<br />
local small business community. </p>
<p>As part of the panel disuccsion, Pilmer shared actionable PR<br />
tips for young businesses. According to Pilmer, “These are the same types of<br />
ideas we might give a client in an initial consultation. Good PR starts with<br />
solid ideas, and depends of the hard work of an entire team to be successful.” </p>

<p>1. Pearl Harbor was not the beginning of the Pacific War</p>
<p>Japanese forces landed in northern Malaya, then a British colony, a couple of hours before the Pearl Harbor attack; meanwhile a larger Japanese force was disembarking off neutral Thailand. What the Japanese called the Hawaiian Operation was a supporting attack; the main blow was the Southern Operation, directed against Malaya, the Philippines and the Dutch East Indies. And Japan had already been engaged in a full-scale war against China for four-and-a-half years.</p>

<p>PilmerPR, BLLC was nominated for work on behalf of the <a href="https://www.gwmuseum.org/">George Washington Museum of American History</a>. The objective was to generate recognition of the museum’s vision, mission and get attendees to the museum’s announcement on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. To facilitate this goal, PilmerPR leveraged earned media coverage in major news outlets across 9 different states. Overall, the agency generated more than 135 million online impressions with 60 VIP’s in the room for the launch event.</p>

<p>Corporate social responsibility is becoming critical to all organizations and companies as the rise of environmental and social issue become progressively important to the generation of consumers. PilmerPR is the 2nd company in Utah to be designated as a Benefit LLC.</p>
<p>In this new Millennial era, many entrepreneurs are scrambling to find a way to integrate social causes and <a href="https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/245162" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">corporate responsibility</a> into their purpose-driven business plan. Millennials, typically defined as those born between 1981 and 1996, have shown a remarkable intolerance for companies who don’t associate themselves with the causes that are <a href="http://www.themillennialimpact.com/sites/default/files/reports/Phase1Report_MIR2017_060217.pdf" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">increasingly important</a> to this rising generation.</p>

<p>3.    <strong>Marketing advantages.</strong> While becoming a Benefit LLC is so much more than a marketing tactic; it does have the potential to improve market visibility. Attaching this moniker to your business draws attention to the good that your company is already doing, which can gain media exposure and other third party validation for your business. <p>Online newsrooms provide journalists with press releases, photos, contact information, quotes and various other pieces of public information from the company.</p>
<p>The survey asked journalists a vast amount of questions regarding the importance of the content in newsrooms and how newsrooms are accessed. Some of the top numbers are listed below:</p>
<ul>
<li>97% of journalists say a newsroom is important</li>
<li>92% of journalists prefer to receive news and story pitches via email alert</li>
<li>50% visit an online newsroom at least once a month and 15% visit at least once a week</li>
<li>93% said access to images in the newsroom are important</li>
</ul>
<p>Although many companies share a lot of this information through social media, it’s important that newsrooms stay up-to-date with current and usable content for journalists to use.</p>
<p>Seventy-eight percent of journalists also said that it is important to gain access to social media accounts through the newsroom. Facebook had the highest percentage of social media sites that journalists visit for information on the company or organization.</p>
<p>Overall, journalists rely on newsrooms for information so it’s important to keep them up-to-date efficiently and provide effective content. Tapping into social media accounts will also help with followers to engage with your brand.</p>
