Dubai: Police have caught 40 cross-dressing tourists in shopping malls and other public places and they will be deported soon, a senior officer said on Wednesday.

Dubai: New Salik toll gates will be installed at Al Maktoum Bridge and between the first and second interchange on Shaikh Zayed Road, Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Tuesday.

Dubai: Police will arrest transvestites if they are caught in public as part of a five-day campaign to crack down on them, the Dubai Police Chief announced on Sunday.

Dubai: Two women who were standing trial for kissing and cuddling on a public beach have been sentenced to one a month prison term followed by deportation. 

The women, a 30-year-old Lebanese visitor and 36-year-old Bulgarian employee, had pleaded not guilty to kissing,

Dubai: A memorandum of understanding signed by the Dubai and Philippine chambers of commerce and industry was the highlight of Philippine President Gloria Arroyo's visit to Dubai.

Under the agreement, the two countries are expected to strengthen and expand trade,
