It didn't take a minute for me to fall in love with Dahican Beach. It was "love at first sight". Its long white sandy beach is certainly "to die for". As we walk barefooted along its shoreline dotted with tall coconut trees, I felt the fine sand on my feet. It's so soft that my feet leaves a mark with every step I make. The "raw-ness" of its seven-kilometer stretch of pure white sand beach facing the turquoise waters of the Pacific Ocean is simply amazing!

I grew up seeing the mansion of General Emilio Aguinaldo in Kawit, Cavite. I studied in a parochial school in Kawit and I always pass by this house almost everyday. So when friends from outside Cavite come over to our house ask what to see in Cavite, I always suggest that we visit the Aguinaldo Shrine. I've been to this house countless times in the past but this is the first time I'll be writing about it.

"That's the dinosaur! That's the dinosaur!", I screamed to my friend. Hahaha! He quickly told the bus attendant to stop the bus so we could get off. We hurriedly get off the bus and I was like a little kid as we run towards the viewing deck at the side the highway to the so-called "sleeping dinosaur" of Mati City. Located at Badas Point in Barangay Dawan, you could see this stunning overlooking view of a land formation along Pujada bay that resembles a submerged dinosaur sleeping on its belly.

Last weekend, me and my friend, Glen of EscapeManila.com went on a day trip to the town of Sta. Maria in the soon to be province of Davao Occidental. It is one of the 5 towns that was carved out from the province of Davao del Sur to form the new province of Davao Occidental via Republic Act No. 10360. The new province will include the towns of Sta. Maria, Don Marcelino, Jose Abad Santos, Sarangani and Malita, the new province’s proposed capital. But it will it have to wait until the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) performs a plebiscite that will ratify the creation of the new province.

It's time to surf at Blue Lagoon Beach in Pagudpud on our 3rd and final day of this Northern Luzon trip. We woke up a bit late as we were so tired from yesterday's trip in Apayao Province. We had breakfast in a nearby eatery and then proceeded to Kapuluan Vista Resort where I will be getting my surfing lessons. I've been to Pagudpud in 2011 but missed to surf. I just stayed at Saud Beach back then and was not able to explore this part of the town.

The province of Apayao is formerly part of the larger province of Kalinga Apayao until it was divided into 2 separate provinces on February 14, 1995 under Republic Act No. 7878. It is one "off-the-beaten" destination that most travelers hardly visit. That's why when I got the chance to travel to Northern Luzon some time last year, I see to it that I include this province in my itinerary. We traveled for 4 hours from Laoag, Ilocos Norte to the sleepy town of Pudtol in Apayao in search for the Spanish Church Ruins.

Since the town of Bantay is just outside the Historic Heritage City of Vigan, we decided to just walk towards the town square. This leisurely walk brings back memories when I first set foot in Vigan, in 2004. It was a quick trip with my cousins, a time when analog cameras were still widely used and cellphone camera's resolution was only VGA. Hahaha! I'm happy to be back in Vigan, the capital City of the Province of Ilocos Sur known to be the only heritage city in the country.

Ilocos Sur - Visiting Bantay Church and Bell Tower

After visiting Sta. Maria Church, we hailed an ordinary bus bound for Vigan, Ilocos Sur. It took us roughly 40 minutes to reach the town of Bantay where St. Augustine Parish is located. Though not part of Vigan, this church is a popular tourist destination for travelers visiting Vigan because it is actually one of the first things you will see before entering the heritage city. It wasn't my first time in Vigan, I've been there in 2004 but we missed to visit this church.

Two weeks ago, I was invited for an overnight stay at Remington Hotel Manila. I was quite excited as it is my first time to spend a night at this hotel located at Resorts World Manila in Newport City, Pasay, Metro Manila. It is right across NAIA terminal 3 and and a few minutes away from NAIA Terminals 1 and 2; a place perfect for passengers catching up their flights at the airport or for families seeking a stay-cation for the weekends. Is it really worth staying here for a night? That I have to know.
