New typhoon PARMA (Pepeng) threatens Philippines

While recovering from Typhoon KETSANA (Ondoy), Filipinos brace for another typhoon that threatens the Philippines, Typhoon PARMA (Pepeng). I first learned about this in my Facebook news feed, which provided a link to Typhoon2000. There I learned the details of the Category 3 typhoon. Below is the image of the new typhoon threat.

According to Typhoon2000 “PARMA is now a powerful Category 3 Typhoon as it rapidly intensified during the past 6 hours…Storm Warning Signals were now raised by PAGASA Manila across parts of Bicol…Just uploaded the initial flash satellite animation on the main page. Currently issuing 6-hrly advisories (except 12:00 AM) on Typhoon PARMA (PEPENG).”

Twilight sequel CANCELLED!

A sad day for all Edward Cullens and Bella Swan lovers and fans out there. New Moon, the Twilight sequel is cancelled, according to news recently reported on the internet and spread over emails, the reason for this very hard to accept news is reportedly the fault of the author, Stephenie Meyer.

No, this is definitely not an April Fools joke like this post: New Moon Cancelled. Yahoo can say that New Moon, the Twilight sequel is NOT CANCELLED but I have proof.

Apparently, Stephenie Meyer forgot one thing when she wrote the series, which led to the series’ demise.

Yup, the Twilight sequel is cancelled. Good-bye Edward. May your soul rest in peace. Aw wait, do you even have a soul?

Will Heroes of Newerth spell the end for DotA?

From the makers of Savage and Savage2 comes Heroes of Newerth, a DotA-based massive multiplayer online game (MMO). Their website, though currently non-functional, foretells of a cool graphics engine used in the game. I was [verbally] invited by a fellow DotA player [seijuro03] to try the game, which is currently up for beta testing. Here is how I did it:

1: go to Heroes of Newerth Beta page.
2: read the terms and conditions for beta besting. If you do not agree to their non-disclosure agreement, forget about beta testing.
3: enter your email and click the Request Key button.
4: copy the request key and sign up for a Heroes of Newerth beta tester account.
5: download the Heroes of Newerth game (253MB).
6: logon and start playing.

I signed on as a beta tester, being a fan of DotA. Currently, as of posting, there are 18,452 beta keys available! So if you want to beta test Heroes of Newerth, sign on and hope that this promising game would not spell the end for DotA but bring it to another level.

Pinoy artist among the Top 10 tshirt designs around the world

A Pinoy artist gives us another reason to be proud to be Pinoy, as his design is chosen to be one of the Top 10 tshirt designs around the world. This is not a paid post but I am proud to showcase the talent of a fellow Pinoy, zerobriant.

Zerobriant is a Pinoy graphics artist from the Queen City of the South. His design, Once in a Blue Moon, is a dark tshirt with a design that would surely appeal nature lovers. His design is also dedicated to the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), with some proceeds to be donated to the organization’s cause. The contest is currently ongoing and the Top 4 will be announced on August 17, 2009.

wow! after more than 3 months since the last post, I am finally back. Busy workload and deleted files (from my dreamhost server) aside, I am finally back from hiatus. Let’s see how my hiatus affected pinoyism.com.

If I Google my website, my previous post placements were lost. I also lost my PR 1 status. My Alexa ranking went down to 2,333,038 traffic rank (-82%) in 3 just months. It sux, really sux. Then again, as the saying goes, It’s no use crying over spilled milk, so now that pinoyism.com is back, I will have to work hard again to get a good traffic rank and maximize online earnings.

Hope you guys will continue visiting this site from here on out.

Pacquiao wins, knocks down Hatton in Round 2!

Haha, I was right about not spending $50 for a Pacquiao vs Hatton pay per view. And as confirmed in various chatrooms, the sentiment is shared by many. So I opted to stay home and watch some live streams. The streams were fine for the undercard bouts until the awaited fight came, the dreaded NOT BROADCASTING appeared.

So I tried TVU player and found to channels, just in time for the singing of the national anthems. But just as the first round was about to start - boom - NOT BROADCASTING again. Wtf! I saw on the chat rooms that Hatton was knocked down. Then again, maybe they were kidding. Luckily, a stream from Justin.tv was available, allowing me to see the start of Pacquiao vs Hatton round 2.

Seeing Hatton’s face, I thought the chat was true, that Hatton was knocked down. And soon enough, another knockdown came. A vicious left hook from Manny Pacquiao dropping Ricky Hatton on the canvass. Replays from various camera angles shows how hard the punch was. And Hatton was so affected by it to decline a post-fight interview.

For all the hype during the promotion of the Pacquiao vs Hatton fight, it would most certainly be disappointing to Hatton’s fans and promoters to see the fight end that way and that quick. This ending will serve as an eye-opener for Floyd Mayweather, Sr for all his talk about Fred Roach being a joke. Haha - the joke is on you Mayweather Sr., slacking off during training, eating your McDonalds tacos while running late for practice.

As for Hatton, all I can say is that he is a good guy. He just need a better coach to be a better boxer! Congrats Manny! Looking forward to your next fight.

March 2009 earnings from making money online

March marks another month of low earnings. At the same time, last month started another very busy season for me at work (my 9-5 job). Read more to see my March 2009 making money online earnings.

I still did not receive any oDesk assignments and did not do any publisher clicks for Adgitize. What I continued for March 2009 were dropping entrecards and click ads on Neobux.

Again, I will not yet post my Neobux earnings because I have yet to receive payment from them and I am still studying its PTC mechanics. All I can say for now is that Neobux will most likely be recommended by me as another means of making money online - soon.

Why I am posting this March 2009 earnings? I would like to help other bloggers out there. I want them to know that making money online is not a joke. That effort equals more income potential. You may be asking how much effort I have exerted for March 2009, truth is, just a few posts. My 9-5 job prevents me from really working on this blog. I have a project which lasts 2 months and requires me to go beyond my 9-hour shift. Not that I am unpaid for it, its just that it takes away my time for making money online.
