Pity that WordPress.org endorses JustHost.com as one of the hosting services with a one-click installation of their software. It was too late for me to realize that having Justhost.com will “just” give me hosting problems. If you notice, for the past few days, my site has been down. One of the promises of Justhost.com is for them to transfer my site from theirs. Meaning, it includes my files and all my stuff here to there and install a WordPress.org software.

It did not happen. And I felt robbed.

If Justhost.com will not transfer all my files to theirs in today or in the next few days, I will have to file a case against them. It has affected my site so much.

I’m having trouble with my site PinoyObserver.com. After transfering this site from wordpress.com to JustHost.com, I’m encountering problems. First, the transfer of my files is taking tooo damn long. Second, my request for JustHost to change the dashboard of this site from wordpress.com to wordpress.org so that I’ll be able to change the theme is also taking too long. I’m getting frustrated. They said the transfer will take effect within two days. Their recent however, said that it would take five. I am starting to get very pissed. It would have been better if I opted Siteground.com. The process would have been smoother.

What is most frustrating here is the Justhost live chat. They don’t give you concrete answers. They want you to be patient, but they simply are too incompetent to answer some of my questions. I am no tech guy. That’s why I want to know what’s a DNS transfer and why is it taking too long to transfer my files.

If the guys over at JustHost.com reads this—I’M PISSED, REALLY PISSED WITH YOUR SERVICE. If you don’t improve in the next few days, I’ll cancel my order and raise hell.

I just looked at my blog stats and its down to either zero or eight. What a bummer.

Two presidentiables, namely Nacionalista’s Manny Villar and the administration’s bet Gilbert Gibo Teodoro, are desperately looking for a political paramour. Villar said that he’s open to the possibility of former NPC Chiz Escudero as a running mate or that of Loren Legarda. Same with Teodoro. Escudero both rejected the offers of the two gentlemen. Escudero said he cannot team up with Villar as a matter of principle; and while he respects Gibo, he cannot, by conscience, partner with an administration candidate.

So, Escudero, as what he wants to project, is his own man. No one knows what he plans to do. He just reportedly severed his ties with the Cojuangcos. And sure enough, he stands to lose Lucio Tan’s.

The question really is—will these two aspirants settle for a newbie (in the case of Teodoro’s—Vilma Santos or Gwen Garci, err. Gwen Garcia?) or a veteran? If Villar opts for a running mate, that one should be a political heavyweight in the North, since he’s weak there.

It is most critical for these two to have their own running mates. Otherwise, their chances of winning are slim.

Kudos to Mrs. Arroyo for EO 839 against oil firms

Executive Order 839 is one of the most admirable executive orders issued by outgoing president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. If you notice, this is the first time that I referred to her as “president”.

For the longest time, I just say Madame or Mrs. Arroyo. The E.O. was issued, directing oil firms to freeze oil pump prices to October 15 levels. At this time, only one small player obeyed. The rest are still disobeying the Executive Order.

Now, with the issuance of this E.O., it shows how resolute Mrs. Arroyo is in resolving the problem of the people, especially motorists, on the virtual monopoly exerted by giant oil companies. These oil firms have been fooling us for the longest time, and it is about time for government to act in deference to the welfare of the toiling masses. How dare these oil firms threaten the Philippine government that they will either shut down their retail selling due to this E.O. or cause a temporary oil shortage ! Ang kapal ng mga mukha ng mga kapitalistang ito!

Who are they to terrorize or even threaten the Philippine state? If these oil companies stop from importing oil products, let the State, as represented by the Energy secretary, trade and import these oil products in the name of protecting the interests of the Filipino People. Time to regulate the oil industry which has been abused by these foreign oil companies and their local lackeys.

The Philippine government has the facilities to import oil in the name of national emergency. In fact, if these oil firms, namely Caltex, Shell and Petron refused to abide by the provisions of this Order, let the State seize their assets and their facilities. If their executives balk, jail them. The Government is fully justified if they do so.

Now, Mr. Energy Secretary Angelo Reyes. You have been given a directive by the Chief Executive. I think, this time, you’ll be glad to implement this E.O. since this will show that the Philippines will never kowtow to these capitalists who capitalize on the misery of the People. O, now what Mr. Reyes? Will you or will you not obey your Chief Executive?

Lingkod Loren

Loren Legarda, whom everybody thought as a weak candidate, got my admiration yesterday. Instead of perorating about her past feats as a legislator or her advocacy work, Loren provided us with a six point “Pro-Poor, Pro-People, Pro-God” agenda, which was devoid of all necropolitical imagery nor the self-serving halleluyas of ass-lickers.

At last, a candidate with a platform. We may not agree with what she thinks is the direction to take, but, I, personally, appreciate that Loren took the time to analyze Filipino society and provide the direction for us to take in the next six years (or even ten).

Which leads me to think—Loren, probably, is not just the best for the vice presidency; she deserves the Highest Post, really.

Damn all those who think that gender is a serious election issue. All these men who came before us, and that includes necropolitician Noynoy Aquino,  did not even care to provide us with their visions. They only expressed their self-serving dreams, but nary anything about service or a road-map towards rehabilitating our damaged institutions.

Loren was brave enough to provide us with her six-point agenda, opening herself up to brickbats later on, but at least, a platform by which we will then use to measure her competence and performance. For some, maybe, presenting your platform this early is perceived to be a political death trap. For a trapo-nian mind, with a 60’s upbringing, that exposes you to attacks. Never mind, says Loren. It is important to give importance to the People.

Some might even think that Loren is your ordinary political prostitute; but her Luneta speech proved that she is not. Loren has her own mind, acts based on her own analysis and shows a steely political will—all we aspire for for a presidentiable to have.

Not a dilly-dallying teka-teka like Gibo Teodoro, nor a worshipper of dead icons like Noynoy or as gangster-minded like an Erap or a posterboy of Big Business or Big Real Estate Business personified, Loren is presidentiable material.

Now, we can sleep soundly at night, thinking that should Erap win, we now have someone who will ascend the Highest post more competent than him.
