SUMMER WORSHIP SCHEDULE

Starting June 1, 2012 and continuing until Aug. 31, 2012, we will observe Summer Worship Hours. Worship will begin at 10am. There will not be a Children's Church School during the summer. However, we do plan to have Vacation Bible School the last full week of June. If you or your child(ren) are interested in VBS 2012, please contact the church office with your interest (919-542-4702).

GROWING DISCIPLES, GROWING THE CHURCH

Every few years, I have brought up the idea of adding another worship format to our life together here at PPC. What would it look like to have another opportunity to worship together? I could see many different possibilities, with some working and some not quite fitting us here. I found this article which sparks some questions for us to think about and consider. While we are not planning this yet, and may not plan to do it in the near future, it is a question we should be comfortable asking from time to time. What's at stake is our understanding of God's kingdom and whether we are willing to grow disciples for Christ or whether we are more suited to staying like we are.

As you have time, read this article and share some conversation with your elders here in the church. Let them know your thoughts, feelings, concerns, and hopes.

Wednesday, April 25 at 11:00am at Pittsboro Presbyterian Church we will gather to give witness to the resurrection. Parking will be available:

- to the east of the Sanctuary on the grass, accessible off of Masonic street up the gravel drive behind the Masonic lodge.

- to the west in the gravel lot behind the Hillsborough St. shops,

- parallel parking on Hwy. 64,

- in the paved parking lot on the corner of Hwy. 64 and Masonic Street.

The service will begin at 11:00am and conclude at graveside. There will not be a reception following the graveside portion of the service. Any gifts wishing to be given in memory of Ms. Betts should go to:

ECUMENICAL MAUNDY THURSDAY SERVICE AT PITTSBORO UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Come and let us worship together at 7pm on Thursday, April 5, at Pittsboro United Methodist Church. Local Pittsboro congregations will all join together in the leadership for this service. Footwashing and the Lord's Supper will be included during the service. Expect the service to last about 1 hour.

Saturday, March 24th, come on out to work around the church doing all sorts of things from putting down mulch, working garden beds, cleaning windows, doing small repairs, and more! We'll begin promptly at 8am but you can come anytime, so don't talk yourself out of coming to work just because you slept in....

FAMILY PROMISE OF CHATHAM COUNTY HAS A HOME AT PPC

The Session approved at its January meeting to welcome Family Promise of Chatham County into the church building through offering office space and meeting space. Family Promise of Chatham County Executive Director, Faythe Canson Clarke, will be occupying the space where the copier is presently located as her office. Some rearranging is in process and along with the construction of a Worship Closet, we will be prepared later this Spring for her to move in. What this will mean is that PPC will support directly the ministry of Family Promise to Chatham County, host potential mentoring and other educational opportunities, as well as provide an office space for the Pittsboro side of Chatham. We celebrate this opportunity and the willingness of our leaders to partner directly with other groups throughout our county.

CHRISTMAS SUNDAY WORSHIP AT CHAPEL IN THE PINES

We will not have worship at PPC on Christmas Day, so that we can celebrate with our sister church, Chapel in the Pines. They have recently occupied their new building and we want to worship with them in that space. Worship begins at 10:30am Christmas morning. Directions: Take 15/501 N out of Pittsboro to Mann's Chapel Road, Turn Left onto Mann's Chapel Road, then at .5 miles, turn Left onto Great Ridge Parkway. Stay on the dirt road and the church will be on your right. SEE YOU THERE!

Worship on Christmas Day will be at Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church at 10:30am. Everyone is welcome to attend as we share this worship service with our sister congregation.
