To be a kid again

I'm not sure if I should be posting this image. There's something about the photo that I do not like and yet there's something about it that captivates me. You tell me, should I have posted this one? I want to be a kid again. I wonder how it'd have been to be on that branch, whiling away my time with little things that don't matter. I wouldn't have to sit on stupid benches to admire the world around. I could play with toy soldiers and hot wheel cars all day. I'll be smart when I want to be. I'll hate girls for what they are. I could be so many things if only I were a kid again. Oh wait! I think... I've found the perfect solution. Yahahaha... I'm gonna be a kid again.

There was something simple about being here that evening. It was peace. It was the calm and quiet that I seek every single day of my life in the city. It was freedom from the normal chaos around. It was the music playing in my ears. It was love for this life, and hate for everything human. I knew there was something, something simple, about being here right from the very beginning. Yet I do not know. Please help me. Do tell me what it was. After all, it was just another sunset over the placid waters. Taken at: Detroit, MichiganAll the new visitors, you could either1. subscribe to the mailing list here or2. subscribe to the feed right here

Today(Aug 15) we celebrate the Indian Independence Day. The emblem you see above is an adaptation of the Sarnath Lion capital of Asoka the Great. The emperor erected the capital atop an Asoka Pillar to mark the spot where Gautama Buddha first taught the Dharma and where the Buddhist Sangha was founded.

Sahaya Hasta is an NGO based out of Coimbatore, India. It's a small organization tugged away in one corner of India, not reached by many. There are a lot of things that come to my mind when I think about NGO's. But one among them stands out. It's something that I want to tell the world but don't know how to. It's probably a request. It's this.If you are planning to support the needy, don't go to an established organization. These organizations must already be helping a lot of people and be having good support from volunteers. I'd rather urge you to go to the small and not so famous ones. The ones that need help. That way we could reach a much wider population. Just a thought. What you think?

I remember that day. I was up on my balcony awaiting the rain. I could see birds struggling to fly on that stormy night: fighting against the mighty wind, flapping their wings so hard. They would go all the way up and then swoosh down, covering little distance. I felt pity for they couldn't reach home before the rains.Little did I know that they were having fun until it was my turn to fly. Currently : Checking out apps for my MacBook!
Lord Krishna (कृष्ण)

Most of the Indian visitors here would know almost everything about Lord Krishna. For those of you who don't, here's a brief.Sri Krishna is one of the most lovable deities of the Hindu Religion. He is regarded as the eighth incarnation (or avatar) of Lord Vishnu. God Krishna is the personification of love and ecstasy that vanishes all pain and sin. In the Mahabharata, Lord Krishna teaches the Bhagavat Gita, a 700 verse sacred scripture which is known as a practical, self-contained guide to life. Krishna is also associated with the Raas-Leela, in which he is always surrounded by the Gopis (Young cowherd girls). His immense love for Radha is immortal and the couple is usually remembered as Radha-Krishna.

In hinduism, lamps signify knowledge. Since they remove darkness, light is worshipped as God himself. The oil in lamps denote negative tendencies which are in turn burnt away along with the wick (our ego). When the ego perishes, we realize that we are all part of Brahman and that life is a continuity.
