The University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar (UET Peshawar) is undergoing phenomenal academic growth, with active support from Higher Education Commission (HEC). The university offers overseas scholarships for Ph.D. studies to talented candidates under the scheme “Jalozai Campus of UET Peshawar”, with priority to those universities that have MoUs signed with UET Peshawar.

In case of non-availability of programs at the aforementioned universities, the scholarship may be awarded to the candidates at other universities, subject to the approval of the university authorities. However, due to high tuition fee and other costs, universities in the US, Canada and Australia will be examined on case to case basis. The scholarships are offered for admission in Ph.D. programs in the following disciplines:

Eligibility Criteria

Pakistani nationals domiciled in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa / FATA or PATA having 18 years of education in engineering and 16 years for non-engineering from HEC recognized universities.
Candidates must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 in semester system, or 1st division in annual/term system of examination in all degrees and certificates. No 2nd division in any academic career is allowed.
Maximum age is up to 35 years for candidates having 4 years
Bachelor/Masters of 16 years education, and up to 40 years for 18 years of education and for in-service candidates having up to 05 years relevant experience.
Candidates, already availing HEC, University / DAIs, Departmental or any other scholarship(s) are not eligible.
Candidates for faculty scholarships are required to submit GRE International and TOEFL / IELTS scores (not more than 03 years old) along with their applications, having the following minimum criteria:
- GRE International – 800/3.0 (Old pattern) or 290/3.0. A minimum score of 138 is required in Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning (New pattern).
- TOEFL (IBT) or IELTS – 80 out of 120 or 6.5 band out of 9.0 band
- Candidates applying for Management scholarships are required to submit
- GAT General from NTS or GRE International with average score of 50%, while TOEFL or IELTS score will remain the same.
Candidates are required to submit a 1000 words research proposal.

Selection Process

Only short listed candidates will be called for interview.
Selected candidates, who are not employees of UET Peshawar, will be selected as “honorary” lecturers/officers, and their appointment will be actualized on joining UET Peshawar, after completion of their Ph.D. studies.
Seeking admission (Only in Ph.D. studies), and obtaining visa, will be the responsibility of selected candidates.
Selected candidates will commence their studies from Fall semester 2013 and Spring semester 2014.
Selected candidates will be required to execute a bond to serve UET Peshawar for a period of five years, after successful completion of Ph.D. studies, and joining UET Peshawar.

Notes

These scholarships are also open to existing faculty/employee (contract and regular) of UET Peshawar, who can apply as per above procedure.
Candidates holding MSc in Chemical Engineering or MSc in Mining Engineering are also eligible to apply for the scholarship of Petroleum and Gas Engineering.
The university reserves the right to restrict the number of selectees in response to this advertisement based on the availability of funds.
In-service candidates in other universities/ Government departments will be considered only if they apply through proper channel, along with NOC from the parent departments.

NTS: Cultural Exchange Scholarships Program for Year 2013

Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC Division), Government of Pakistan, has assigned the task of conducting the GRE (Local) Subject wise test to the National Testing Service (NTS) for the subject scholarships.

Applications are invited for study abroad under the Cultural Exchange Scholarships Program for the year 2013 for Master’s and Ph.D. studies in various subjects. The scholarships are expected from China, Turkey, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Mexico, Greece, Russia, South Korea and Italy. The donor countries provide tuition fee, free accommodation and reasonable monthly stipend.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must have completed sixteen years education that must hold four (04) years B.Sc. (Honors) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Engineering), BCS (Honors), MBBS or Master degree in the relevant field.

Other Terms and Conditions

Maximum age limit is 35 years on the closing date of applications.
Applicants having more than one second division in their academic career are not eligible to apply.
Attested copies of each supporting document (Matriculation to onward) including domicile certificate, must be sent with the application. The professional degree holders B.Sc. Engineering / MBBS, B.Sc. (Honors) Agriculture should submit detailed marks certificate of each year.
The scholarships are awarded on merit determined on the basis of NTS Test score, observing provincial/ regional quota as per government rules.
The candidates will have to take language course of the respective country (if applicable).
The final selection will be made by the donor country and their decision will be acceptable to all.
Students awaiting results are not eligible to apply.

Applications must be received by NTS (Islamabad Office) not later than November 07, 2012.
National Testing Service will not be responsible for late receipt of applications sent through post.
Please deposit online through the prescribed deposit slip in the online branches of ABL, UBL, MCB or HBL. Application form and online deposit slip are available on NTS website.
Candidates are required to send their applications to NTS Headquarters, Islamabad on prescribed forms along with online deposit slip (original).
Candidates are not allowed to bring cell phone to the examination center.
Deposited amount is non-refundable and non-transferrable.

The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) is pleased to announce the 2013 Undergraduate Exchange Program for Pakistan.

The Community College Initiative Program supports Pakistani young professionals (with 2-year Bachelors degree and less than 10 years work experience) at accredited U.S. community colleges for one year of non-degree study in the following fields:

MOL Pakistan: Technical Scholarship Program 2012

MOL Pakistan, as part of its Community Development Program for TAL Block area intends to offer technical scholarship for two years to students belonging to areas of TAL Block in District Karak, Hangu and Kohat who have:

Completed two years studies in an engineering university (Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation, Chemical or Petroleum).
Completed one year studies for a 3 years diploma in a technical training institute (Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation, Chemical or Petroleum).
Completed two year studies for a 4 years B.Sc. Honors course in Geology / Geophysics.
The eligible students must have obtained 70% marks or above throughout their academic career since SSC.

All Institutions where students are studying should be approved by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and/or Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and/or Board of Technical Education, as applicable.

The scholarship will be offered in the selected disciplines mentioned above. Preference will be given to those students belonging to union councils which are part of the Manzalai and Makori D&P Lease and areas of TAL Block where production of oil and/or gas has already started or near to be started.

Enrollment slip for the relevant year of admission from the head of institution where degree / diploma is being undertaken.
Attested copies of certificates pertaining to candidates co-curricular activities to be attached with the application.
Students who are physically handicapped / disabled and satisfy the above criteria are encouraged to apply.

MOL Pakistan: Intermediate Scholarships for Session 2012-2014

MOL Pakistan, as part of its Community Development Program for TAL Block, intends to offer Intermediate Scholarship for session 2012-2014. The scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to students who are bright and plan to undertake their Intermediate studies (2 years F.A./ F.Sc. only and no equivalence) from any recognized public or private college in Pakistan.

Students will be selected from union councils which are part of the Manzalai and Makori D&P Leases of areas of TAL Block where production of oil and/or gas has already started or near to be started. These union councils include Gurguri, Teri, Jatta Ismail Khel and Bahadar Khel from district Karak, Lachi Rural and Gumbat from district Kohat and Dallan and Kotki from district Hangu.

Punjab Educational Endowment Fund: 1500 Master’s Level Scholarships for 2012-2013

The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) is an initiative of the Government of Punjab under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab, Mr. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. PEEF is established with a vision to open new vistas of education for the talented and needy students, so that they can play their role in the progress and welfare of the country.

1. Outreach Scholarships for Master’s Level Studies

How to apply?

Students having Punjab domicile and secured at least 60% marks or minimum CGPA 2.5 in BA / B.Sc. / BBA / BCS / BS / B.Com, etc. examinations held in 2012 (Annual) in Punjab.

Students who already have passed / possessed MA/ M.Sc. / MS / M.Phil. etc. degree are not eligible for PEEF Master Level Scholarship.

The applicant must have secured admission as a full time student in the current academic / degree year (2012-2013) in a public sector partner university of the Punjab / Comsats Islamabad. (Students enrolled in spring / fall semester – morning or afternoon / evening sessions are eligible to apply for PEEF scholarships).

Declared monthly income of parents from all sources is Rs.15,000 or less (children of government employees of grade 1-4 are exempted from condition of income of Rs.15,000 month, if salary is the only source of income.)

Student should not be receiving any other scholarship for Master’s level studies.

The prospective student must qualify the criteria of Financial Aid of the respective university.
