If you've seen "The Mummy" and "The Mummy 2: Unwrapped!" (not actual title), the first thing you'll notice about "The Mummy 3" is that Brendan Fraser's wife from the first films is not the same lady even though everyone pretends she is. The second thing you'll notice is that their son Alex is now in his mid-20s, though Brendan Fraser can't be a day over 40. "Journey 3D" isn't the best movie of the summer, but it's the best-looking 3D movie I've seen. I used to dread 3D movies. The nausea and headache were not worth the "coming right at you" moments. ("Shark Boy and Lava Girl" about cost me my lunch.) But "Journey" uses a new, digital, flux capacitor technology or something that makes the effects kind of sick without also making you ill. If you knew for certain that you only had three days left to live on Earth, how would you spend your remaining time? Recently I posed this question to a group of Christian high school seniors and their answers included sky-diving, traveling, surfing, and (of course) sex. I followed up with a simple question, âSo you think there may be some pleasures and experiences in this life that if you donât partake of them before you die, you may miss out in Heaven?â All but two of them said, âYes.â Sadly, the prospect of Heaven had simply not captured their imaginations. Despite the unsurpassable majesty of Heaven, they thought there were experiences in this life that could be more fulfilling and exciting.
