From young to the young at heart, a "bad time" in this county is nearly impossible. After you've tucked yourself in and you're looking for a family fun, Disneyland is always a ride away from almost all hotels. Choose from Disneyland Park for family oriented attractions or Disney’s California Adventure Park for thrilling rides and experience.

Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park also boasts of an experience that rivals Disneyland. With its six theme parks and loads of rides and attractions, a live band here and there, shopping centers and restaurants, you just have to see for yourself what the people are talking about.

Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm undoubtedly, is a memorable experience. However, the fun is not only there. Orange County boasts 42 miles of coastline, giving everyone an adventure they prefer on the beach. From surfing (Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach) to whale watching (Newport Beach, Dana Point) or just chilling out in the sea and sand, this coastline has always something for someone.

For the artist in you, you might want to stop by at The Orange County Center for Contemporary Art in Santa Ana, California. This art center, managed by artists themselves showcases the works of the up and coming artists and the established ones. Now if you want a little piece of history, Santa Ana is also the home of the Old Courthouse Museum and the Discovery Science Center. Old Courthouse showcases the local history and the Discovery Science Center gives everyone a Victorian-era feel with it’s time tested gadgets, crafts and information for the history buff in all of us.

If you really crave for something that will make you say “I can’t believe it!” you need to visit Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Located in Buena Park, it’s a jungle-themed park that literally houses thousands of artifacts and rare items from around the world.

All in all, you can’t go wrong in Orange County. If you plan to go to this place to enjoy, make sure you stay there MORE than one day. All these places can’t just be appreciated in only two hours. Plus with the size of these theme parks and the amount of entertainment they will give, it’s very hard to just stay in these places for one day only and enjoy everything from sunrise to sundown.

With a population near 3 million residents, Orange County is the combination of nearly 34 cities including Newport Beach (home of the TV show, The O.C.) as well as Anaheim, Laguna Beach, Fullerton, and Irvine. As the second most populated county within California and fifth in the nation, the Orange County is famous for its conservative political beliefs and never ending wealth. Interestingly enough, the county is the smallest in the Southern California area.

The town was first ruled by Junipero Serra who named Vallejo de Santa Anna (Saint Anne). However, Mission San Juan Capistrano was the first settlement among the European settlers in the area. Because of a drought within the middle of the 19 th century, land barons owned much of the O.C. After silver was discovered within the mountain, many settlers came by way of the railroad. Because of this large rush of people, Los Angeles County was split, and the O.C. (Orange County) was founded in 1889. The name was created because of the large orange production in the nearby area; however avocados are rampant as well in the O.C.

Orange County holds Knott's Berry Farm and Disneyland as two of its most popular attractions. Along with surfing, yachting, boating as well as golf, swimming, tennis, hiking and bicycling, the county is a gold mine for the tourism industry. Bordering the Pacific Ocean, the north O.C. is along the coastal plain, while the bottom half of the county grazes the Santa Ana Mountain foothills. Water sources are plentiful as well, the Santa Ana River is the largest. However, Laguna Beach holds the only natural lakes in the O.C. Much like any other city, the residents of the county divide it in to North and south parts. However, there is no real divide within the landscape of the O.C.

The town became a weekend getaway for Hollywood after the Pacific Electric Railway was established in 1904. People who were interested in both manufacturing and aerospace moved to the area. Also, the opening of Disneyland had a surge of new residents as well. All of these events helped to make the O.C. the success it is.

The Clubs and Bars in Orange County are always enjoyable if not exciting. From hip-hop to alternative rock, your preferences will always be catered to in Orange County.

Enjoying live music doesn’t need to be really that expensive. Loffler’s Sports Bar and Grille located in Anaheim must be the place. Cover bands playing classic rock songs gives someone a great time in enjoying the music. A welcoming ambiance gives everyone a chance to really enjoy themselves in whatever they fancy in doing. The bar offers a selection of beers on tap and a great selection of activities for everyone like pool tables, darts, TVs where you can watch games and sing your hearts out in their karaoke. Just remember to bring an extra $5 when a band is playing for cover charge and you are all set for the night.

If you ask people where you can go for good DJ music for that great beat, people will tell you to go to the Beachfront 301 Bar and Grill at Huntington Beach. People always go there for fun or just to chill out while watching at one of their state-of-the-art High-Definition TVs. With happy hour drinks from $1-$3, this place is a good way to enjoy with someone or just watching great games on TV.

For live performances while just chilling with favorite drinks, consider the House of Blues Anaheim. This franchise offers a wide variety of performance of various artists ranging from the famous Bone Thugs n Harmony to American Idol Bo Bice. House of Blues Anaheim is not as crowded as its sister on the Sunset Strip, so you can expect to catch the artists playing on that date without any problem of booking in advance.

For that smooth Jazz Music, go to Steamer’s Jazz Club and Cafe. The cafe offers live jazz and fine cocktails. With its 10 years of experience the club boasts of great servings of paninis, pasta, pizza and more.
