A stagnant working environment with plain or dull décor is now scientifically proven to be unconducive to office morale and productivity. Yet incorporating some simple plants here are there could have an astronomical effect on staff productivity and overall health. In fact, ensuring that the plant to office worker ratio is a minimum of 1:3 will automatically increase the cleanliness of air; reducing dust by up to 20%

The reasons to invest in office plants are endless. Here are just a few:

And if that is not enough to convince you, think of the effect a drab looking office has on your clients and perhaps future employees. A stagnant working environment should be avoided at all costs.

There are many perks to having plants in the office, but if you are worried about the upkeep; we at Plant Care are here to help. With a range of plant rentals on offer, we also provide a full maintenance service. Get in touch today by calling 0117 932 5080 to find out how we can help you improve your working environment at a competitive price.

Over the past few years, green walls have been gaining in popularity in both domestic and commercial settings. You have probably seen examples of living walls in hotels or high-end apartments, but have you considered creating one in your office? Green walls are not only a fantastic way of increasing the aesthetic appeal of your business, but they can also help boost productivity and benefit you and your staff in various ways. Continue reading to see how.

Improved Productivity And Well-Being

Modern office buildings are glass and concrete boxes, and spending eight hours a day in such artificial space can have detrimental effects on the mental health and well-being of employees. By contrast, living walls open up the space and create an oasis of greenery that is soothing and that contributes to a more serene working atmosphere and to a positive morale among staff. As you know, happy employees are also productive employees.

Protection Against External Elements

The plants that live in a green wall mitigate the harmful effects that drastic temperature changes can have on a building. In regular offices, the constant expansion and contraction of the walls due to temperature changes contributes to the premature damage of the building’s structure. Living walls work as a natural shield against this and other dangers, such as corrosion and UV rays.

Attractive Appearance

Green walls are an eye-catching element of interior design and a living work of art that will never fail to make an impression on clients and visitors. Their ever-changing nature adds a unique decorative element to any office and can definitely help improve the overall appearance of your business space.

Improved Air Quality

Back in the 1980s a NASA study showed that even the most common indoor plants had a purifying effect on air quality in homes and offices. Including a living wall in an office setting can multiply the beneficial effects of plants and help you enjoy a cleaner working environment. In addition, green walls can also counterbalance the harmful effects of pollution, exhaust fumes, and heating or air conditioning emissions.

Reduced Energy Costs

Plants help cool down a room and therefore reduce the need for air conditioning during the hot season, as well as acting as a natural insulator against hot temperatures during the summer. This means that green walls can reduce energy consumption and help you save money in the long run.

If you have decided to create a green wall in your office, why not let the experts at Plant Care design the ideal solution? We have more than three decades of experience using plants to create liveable and productive spaces and we are now offering bespoke green wall services that will add a distinctive touch to your office. Call us today for a free quote or to discuss your needs.

An office is a location where you interact with associates and close business deals, but this doesn’t mean it should be dull and lifeless. It’s good to add some flowers and trees to attach aesthetic value to the space.

While you may be unaware of it, plants don’t just make the place more appealing, as they also boost the air quality and therefore make the atmosphere more comfortable for your employees. Some of the plants you can use in your office this year include the Bamboo palm, Boston fern, Peace Lily, Philodendron, and the Spider plant, and here’s a little more information on each;

1. Bamboo Palm

The Bamboo palm does very well in shady spaces and has been rated among the best office plants for its ability to filter the air. With its long and arching leaves, it’s a great way to create a centre of interest and add some flair to your office space.

2. Philodendron

If you find the air in your office too congested, getting philodendrons may just be the best way to get the problem sorted. Headaches and poor concentration can severely affect productivity, so get this plant to have a little greenery around and make your staff happier throughout the year.

3. Peace Lily

Nothing soothes the mind as much as a tranquil environment and getting the Peace lily is just one quick way of achieving this in the workplace. The peace lily is pleasant to look at, provides a calming feeling and has great cleansing characteristics. To keep it from drying, you only need to keep the soil well drained and water the plant on regular basis.

4. Boston Fern

Being the most widely used office plant of all fern varieties, the Boston fern provides a great deal of green foliage in office surroundings. Apart from its beauty, the other good thing about this plant is its ability to purify the air.

5. Spider Plant

When it comes to office plants, you need something that is beautiful yet is low maintenance, and this is what you get with the Spider plant. This plant can endure tough conditions and occasional neglect so you don’t have to worry too much about it once you have it placed in your office.

At Plant Care, with our flower displays, interior trees and indoor plants, we can bring life to your office. If you find it keeping real plants too much effort, we also have artificial ones that look just as good, so to find ways to beautify your space today, check out the great products we have available on our website.

Are you tired of the same old uninspiring decor running throughout your offices but unsure of how best to freshen things up? Well here at Plant Care we can help to turn your walls into living works of art with our innovative and stunning GreenWalls.

We have years of experience in providing beautiful indoor plants in Newport, Bristol and the surrounding areas, but the ANS Living Wall™ really does take it to the next level.

Designed to Your Specifications

Here at Plant Care we understand that no two buildings are the same, and as such our in-house team will develop your GreenWall to ensure that it meets with your specific style and shape requirements.

Morale Boosting

The benefits of our GreenWalls goes way beyond simply providing a visually attractive feature. It has been scientifically proven that plants and flowers can improve staff morale, and with it, productivity. With that in mind, the psychological impact of a GreenWall can offer all of those benefits, as well as provide a genuinely amazing feature for any visitors to your offices – be they prospective clients or employees.

A breathtaking lawn compliments the rest of your garden, but taking care of your lawn in the winter can be quite challenging. Here are a few tips to help keep your lawn healthy this winter.

Keep an eye out for pests or diseases – the sooner you find them, the quicker you can get rid of any problems before they get out of hand! Here at Plant Care we can assist with eliminating pests if you don’t want to get your hands dirty.

Keep mowing to a minimum – remove only the top third of the length using a lawnmower.

Do not over-fertilise your grass – over feeding can cause your lawn to go into premature overgrowth and it will not be able to withstand icy conditions, which in turn could kill the lawn completely. Wait until the warmer months before you start using fertiliser again.

Keep your lawn clear of debris – if you have a lot of debris on your lawn during the winter, you are likely to find dead spots in the spring. Try regularly sweeping your lawn.

Puddles on your lawn – After heavy rain you often find that there are puddles, if this is the case, then it’s a sign that the soil is too tightly compacted and could benefit from being slightly looser to allow the water filter through properly. Keep the lawn clear of all leaves and debris where possible.

Root out large weeds – by doing so you will keep the lawn under control – stopping any weeds spreading.

Heavy roller on a new lawn – If your home or commercial property has had a newly sown or turfed lawn, then it is likely that heavy frost may lift the new turf. If this does happen simply use a heavy roller when it’s not so frosty, to level the turf back out again.

The winter months are a good time to keep your lawn healthy, so that it’s in good condition for the summer and your home or business is looking aesthetically pleasing at all times. For assistance with grounds maintenance give us here at Plant Care a call on 0117 9325080 and we will be happy to assist.
