MGS: Peace Walker Details

So the Holiday season is pretty much over, and the world is heading into 2010. Hopefully the New Year will be a big one for Sony, and a particularly big release for the PSP is Metal Gear Solid – Peace Walker.

The game will take place following the events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. So really a bit of a prequel filling in the gaps between MGS3 and MGS4. Metal Gear Solid 4 was easily one of the best games of 2008 – in my opinion, THE best, so what is in store for us with this installment? Well, we can count on the story being of a high quality like all Kojima projects. Expect a deep, detailed plot. If you haven’t played through all the previously released games, I would recommend doing so (something I also need to do). I’m personally hoping that the graphics will be setting a new standard for the PSP, as MGS4 did for the PS3 on its release. I still haven’t seen a game as delicate and detailed as Guns of The Patriots since it was released (lets just wait for Heavy Rain…). Gameplay should be pretty much typical Kojima – solid and immersive. Now we’ll end off this little summary previewish thingy with a bit of media for the game. Enjoy!

With a new PS3, comes a new PS3 Box

So we’ve seen the sexy but not-so-shiny PS3 Slim, but with a new look console, comes a new look box – and here’s what it looks like:

So as you can see, the box has become slightly shorter, and the ‘PS3′ header (sporting the all new PS3 logo) is looking about twice and thick as the old box. You might also notice that the ‘PlayStation 3′ strip down the left side of the old box has been scrapped, giving the box art more room either side but less room on top.

As for the new logo, I have to say that the old one was more to my taste, but maybe because I was so attached to that PS3 shine.

New MAG Trailer

This MAG Trailer has a particular focus on the teamwork element of the game, and also features the voices of the people involved in testing the game in its Beta stages. It gives the game a more personal feel – finally breaking away from the bog standard FPS image it has given itself so far. So… here it is:

Gran Turismo 5 To Be Released Q4 2009

And will feature a reported 1000 cars!

Polyphony’s Japanese website revealed to us that Sony’s upcoming exclusive racer will feature 1000 cars and 60 effective courses to play on (20 courses with 60 different layouts to play them).

The first playable demo of the game was revealed at Gamescom last week, and was a somewhat limited representation as it only featured one car and one track, and the damage system was not fully implemented. But lets keep our fingers crossed for more updates in the coming months (Convention Season, YIPEE!)

Which looks better? PS3 or PS3 Slim

OK, we know that the PS3 Slim excels in every aspect I can identify technologically, but which one looks better? The original (shiny!) PS3 or the new PS3 Slim?

Now my opinion is that the original PS3 shine prevails… now that’s just my opinion. Obviously the slimline design of the new PS3 Slim is attractive, but its missing something.
