As we continue our revival podcast series on 5 Attributes of Preaching Found in the Book of Acts, we left off with a post about preaching that applies to the hearers. Today, we are going to take another look at preaching in the book of Acts, which is: Preaching that is Authentic.
We, as preachers of the Gospel must always remember that we are but mere men with the calling of God on our life. Without God, we are nothing. Therefore, we ought not to think of ourselves as anything special or better than anyone else. We see this attribute in the life of the Apostle Paul. He knew exactly who he was in the eyes of God. Because of such a self-realization, he was able to relate to his hearers. We are going to learn about being an authentic preacher from the Apostle Paul’s farewell address. Enjoy!

As a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I want to preach in a manner that is Biblical. There are many types of preaching out there. Yes, some are good, but are they Biblical? If we are to become a Biblical preacher, we must craft our messages as found in the Bible. With that thought, I am excited to share a series on Preaching – 5 Attributes of Preaching Found in the Book of Acts.
They will be preaching podcasts that teach what God’s Word demonstrates as Biblical preaching. Our first lesson will deal with the topic of Applying our message to our hearers. We take an example from the Apostle Paul in Acts 17. This Biblical example of preaching that applies to the hearers should compel God’s men to preach so that our hearers understand the message of God.
If this is a blessing to you, then I would encourage you to share the blessing. Please leave a comment and spread this with the share box below.
Enjoy!

Listen to the Word of God to find Hope in God today in our new podcast on Psalm 43. Have you ever felt low and let down? So has the individual that wrote Psalm 43. Feeling all alone and totally open to attack, he finds strength and enough courage to tell himself to “Hope In God”.
Maybe you are down and feel all alone, don’t fret. God is ready to help. We just need to take some time to learn from the Word of God so we can find hope in God.
Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man. For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God. Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

As you may know, by the Grace of God I have released a book on Biblical Fasting that guides a person on a 10 day journey of different types of fasts. As I continue to seek God, He taught me a little more about Biblical fasting. Normally, a person fasts to maybe change God or seek Him for a particular need. It can be said that we fast as an action toward God.
Well, in recent days, I have learned that there is an action toward mankind when we fast. This action comes from God and is geared toward our life. What does God do to an individual when he fasts?
God Humbles A Person When He Fasts
I have always known that fasting ought to have a sense of humility. Yet, I have found that humility is the primary focus of fasting. When we are humbled by God, we begin to get out of the way, so God can step in and do His work. Therefore, if we are seeking God by fasting, we are asking Him to work, leaving our own strengths and abilities behind…humility and fasting go hand in hand. In fact, it can be said that humility and fasting are two sides to the same coin.
Having been taught that humility is the primary focus of fasting, I want to help you. In response to recent lessons God taught me, I thought it would be fit to help those that are seeking God as well.

In a previous post, we learned about Peter & his step of faith when he walked on water. I hope it was an encouragement to you. Today, we have another lesson from the life of Peter as a follower of Christ. It will be on the subject of failing Christ and how to be restored back to God.
Sad to say, we as human beings, will fail our Savior. We know this because we are sinners, but also because of the example and life of Peter. Peter had traveled with Jesus for over 3 years, and we find him cursing and denying his Savior. If a man could walk as Peter walk, and still fail Christ, what makes us think we are any better.
In spite of Peter failing Christ, we find Christ never fails us. God is always there for us to receive us. I must say, we come to God on God’s terms, which is repentance a love for Him. Nevertheless, God is longsuffering and His mercy endureth for ever.
With those thoughts in mind, I would to encourage you to listen to our recent podcast on the life of Peter and how he failed Christ and was restored back to Christ.

In our last blog post, we looked at Peter and Becoming A Follower of Christ. Today, we are going to continue in our study of the Apostle Peter and how he to took a step of faith to see Jesus work in His life. Again, I refer to my last post for the reason that I was making a point that our Gospel presentation does not yield true followers of Jesus Christ. So, today, make a point about why so little Christians actual take a great step of faith in their life.
I don’t know about you, but I serve a Big God. I know because He gave me a new life when I was saved at 16 years old. At the point in my life, I was just crazy enough to believe my God was able. I still do, but back then, I had a child like faith that simply believed God to be God. I regret that over the years I have let that faith slip, but I am asking God to teach me about faith in my life.
The thing about asking God for something is the reality that He may bring something along our way to teach us what we ask. For instance, if you ask God for patience, then He may send someone to test it. Likewise, asking God for faith may require being placed in a situation where you have no one else except God. It is during these storms of life we find we can take a step of faith to see God work.
I want to encourage you with the Word of God and great step of faith Peter took by walking on water. Click the play button below to hear this lesson taught by Pastor Estevan Montoya.
