Life and Style: Brangelina Signs Prenup

Life & Style has a spin on the British tabloid report that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt signed papers to split their fortune because they are breaking up. The new story says that the couple did go to an attorney's office and sign papers, but they were more in the nature of a prenuptial agreement (modified since they are not legally married). The document divides property and lays out custody in case of a split.

"Brad and Angelina had a meeting with a top law firm in LA in December, where they worked out terms of a legal document similar to a prenup," an insider reveals exclusively to Life & Style. "The couple signed the document in early January. They agreed to share their money and assets and custody of their six children, all of whom would live with Angelina in the event of their parents' breakup."

But this doesn't mean they are ending their five-year relationship. "They didn't talk to the lawyer about splitting, nor was that ever mentioned at the meeting," the insider notes, adding that they were "snippy with each other" during the meeting. "Brad and Angelina aren't splitting right now," says a second insider close to the couple. "Will they be together forever as a couple? Probably not. It'll run its course, but I think they're fine -- for now."

No couple thinks about prenups five years into a relationship unless the relationship is in trouble. The denials from Camp Brangelina have been vague at best. At least they've worked out the custody issues, because that would be the real battleground for these two, not money.

Nancy Kerrigan's Father Dies, Brother Arrested

Olympic skater Nancy Kerrigan is grieving after the unexpected death of her father. Her brother has been arrested in connection with the death, although a cause of death has not been determined. Nancy's father was 70 and had some kind of altercation with her brother before his death. He was arrested and charged with assault. Nancy's mom said her husband had a heart attack and her son is innocent. Nancy's skating friends, Kristi Yamaguchi and Paul Wylie have reached out to her.

Paul Wylie, an Olympic silver medalist who also competed in the 1992 Albertville Olympics with Kerrigan, spoke with her by phone early Monday when he heard the news that Daniel Kerrigan, 70, died after an alleged assault by his troubled son, Mark. "She was really struggling," Wylie tells PEOPLE. "But she called to thank me for calling." Kristi Yamaguchi, who also competed with Kerrigan in Albertville, offered her condolences by text mail, and Kerrigan responded, "Thank you...I appreciate all the support I've been getting."

Britney Spears Appears in Court Regarding Conservatorship

Britney Spears appeared in court today for a follow up visit with the judge to assess her progress during the two year long conservatorship. Britney asked the judge for permission to auction off her 2008 MTV Music Video Awards dress to benefit Haitian relief efforts; her request was approved. People reports:

The judge wanted to see the pop star face-to-face for a progress review since her father took legal control of her affairs following her mental breakdown two years ago. Lawyers for the singer also sought court permission to auction off her 2008 MTV Video Music Awards dress to raise money for Haiti earthquake relief, as part of "property no longer useful for her estate."

Spears "is very enthusiastic about the idea for a donation to Haiti," her court-appointed attorney Samuel Ingham told the judge, adding that the singer "is appreciative of the extra time and effort" showed by the court in her ongoing case. The judge approved the dress donation.

Experts say it's normal procedure for the judge to want to check in with her. However, Spears won't regain control of her own life until she proves to the court -- backed by doctors' opinions -- that she's able to manage her own affairs.

The judge made the media leave for most of the hearing because the parties were discussing Britney's private medical records. We hope she got a good report.

Heidi Montag's mother is horrified by all of her daughter's surgeries and can't wait to confront her about it, according to People magazine.

When Heidi Montag underwent 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day, the Hills star kept her plans secret from friends - and even her family. Now, nine weeks after her dramatic transformation, Montag is dealing with the horrified reaction of her mom, Darlene Egelhoff.

"I still can't believe I'm 23 and mom is reacting this way," Montag tells PEOPLE. "I'm nervous to go home and face her -- especially with cameras rolling." A source close to the family tells PEOPLE that Egelhoff "is horrified and having a total breakdown. She can't wait to confront Heidi when she goes home."

Montag's mom, who lives in Colorado where the reality star grew up, will get her wish soon. "Heidi is planning to head back to her small town of Crested Butte very soon," says the source.

So Heidi is heading to Colorado with a film crew to have it out with her mom? What does her mother think about all this? Heidi's plastic surgeon says Heidi may give her mom plastic surgery for Valentine's Day. Because the best present is one that says "you really need a face lift; you look terrible>"

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Donate $1 Million to for Haitian Aid

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have donated $1 million to Doctors Without Borders, which is providing aid in wake of the devastating Haitian earthquake. People reports:

"It is incredibly horrible to see a catastrophe of this size hit a people who have been suffering from extreme poverty, violence and unrest for so many decades," says Jolie.

Adds Pitt: "We understand the first response is critical to serve the immediate needs of countless people who are now displaced from their homes, are suffering trauma, and most require urgent care."

The Jolie-Pitt Foundation is donating the funds to Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres, whose three hospitals in Port-au-Prince were severely damaged, forcing the staff to work out of open-air hospitals.

If you would like to help the rescue effort in Haiti, make sure you donate to a reputable organization. There are many scam organizations raising funds right now, according to the FBI. CNN has put together a list of reputable charitable organizations which are specifically focusing on Haitian relief right now.

Heene's Release Another Balloon Incident Video

Is Jay Leno Being Fired?

Rumors are swirling today that Jay Leno's show will go on hiatus for the Olympics, and when they are over that Jay will either be fired entirely or get his 11:30 p.m. Eastern time slot back. That would leave Conan O'Brien out in the cold. NBC issued a really weird statement that explains absolutely nothing. People reports:

"Jay Leno is one of the most compelling entertainers in the world today," says the NBC statement. "As we have said all along, Jay's show has performed exactly as we anticipated on the network. It has, however, presented some issues for our affiliates. Both Jay and the show are committed to working closely with them to find ways to improve the performance."

Leno professed to be in the dark, joking about the reports during his monologue on Thursday's taping of The Jay Leno Show. "I don't think there is any truth to the rumors," he said. "See, it's always been my experience that NBC only cancels you when you're in first place. So we are fine. We are OK." Later, he joked, "What does NBC stand for? Never Believe your Contract."

Hugh Grant Talks About Panic Attacks

Hugh Grant is making the rounds to promote his new romantic comedy with Sarah Jessica Parker called Have You Heard About the Morgans? Hugh has revealed that he suffers from debilitating panic attacks and that is why he hasn't done a movie in two years, since 2007's Music and Lyrics. He first suffered a panic attack many years ago, but they got so bad he had to take anti-anxiety medication.

He had his first attack 10 years ago on Notting Hill, with Julia Roberts. The problem recurred in subsequent movies, but came to a head in his last film, Music and Lyrics, with Drew Barrymore in 2007. Incredibly, for an actor of his calibre and experience, he had developed a "sort of phobia of close-ups".

So his withdrawal from the big screen was a conscious decision to get his mojo back. "I thought: 'Do I really want to put myself through that hell again, just in case I get any of those panic attacks'," he says. "It's absurd. As long as there's another person in the scene, I'm fine. "It's just when it's me by myself, especially my head, I don't like it. Sometimes it can get really intense. I sort of can't breathe, can't think."

Of Music and Lyrics, he adds: "I spent most of that film taking tranquilisers." It took a series of visits to doctors and phone calls from director Marc Lawrence, his collaborator on Music and Lyrics and Two Weeks Notice, to draw him out of his self-imposed exile.

We think it's great that he's so open about his anxiety issues. In another interview he said he took Lorazepam to control his anxiety during the making of Music and Lyrics.

Report: Elin to Divorce Tiger

People reports that Tiger Woods' wife Elin Nordegren is spending the holidays in Sweden with her two children. Tiger won't be joining them for Christmas. Elin is reportedly going to divorce Tiger, because she doesn't believe he will ever change.

"Elin is going to Sweden soon," the source says. "Two stewardesses and one pilot are in Sweden with the plane now getting it ready to come pick them up." The initial plan was for Nordegren, 29, and the family to travel to Sweden in January. But those plans changed. Woods is not expected to come along.

Sources caution that Nordegren's holiday trip to Sweden, where she recently purchased a $2.3 million country retreat outside Stockholm, is not a permanent one as she plans to split her time between both countries. But she still still intends to separate from Woods. "She plans to leave Tiger," a source told People after she was photographed sans wedding ring near her Florida home.

People usually has very reliable sources before they run such an item so it looks like a divorce is imminent for Tiger Woods. How long it takes depends entirely on whether Tiger will try to play hardball and enforce their prenuptial agreement which does not give Elin very much money at all, especially considering Tiger's net worth. We hope he does the right thing by her.
