hi all

i have 2 large common plecos in a 4ft tank, they are about 12" each and are healthy eaters, however at night or even sometimes in the day they release bubbles and then shoot up to the surface to get more, one of them does it very slowly as he is alot more tame and the other one actually splashes me when he does it because of how fast he does it. is this normal behavior?
all the water parameters are good and the tank has heaps of oxygen.

thanks,
I came home last night from refitting a new bridge in a mates tank and found my 2 loaches absolutely freaking out at each other, it didn't look like the standard antics these idiots get up to it was more so swimming around each other in circles and really nosing up to each others ventral areas in a figure 8 fashion.
Both fish are alive this morning and not showing any sign of battle damage.
It was quite entertaining watching them roll around like morons last night.

Hello, yes I'm new to the forums but I need help desperately!
Here is my sick pleco, Mister Kirby,

I've been so stressed out since I found out he's been this way.
Two days ago I noticed Mister Kirby was getting beat up by my
Oscar Ozzy. My tank was in need of cleaning so I started to clean
it by hand. That's when I noticed Kirby swimming...he was swimming
on his side!

Anyway, the tank is now clean, had a water change and he's gotten
worse!! Right now he is on the bottom of the tank upside down
struggling to move now and again. He was like this most of yesterday too.
His fins also are in terrible shape, and I just don't know what I can
do to help him.

Tank Size: 55 Gallons with only two fish,

Mister Kirby is the only fish to be showing signs of sickness, Ozzy is fine,

The temperature is 80 degrees, my Dad tested the water and all my levels
were normal, but my Nitrates were high.

Nothing has changed recently, expect for a water change.

He also isn't eating, I put algae cookies and some zucchini in but no interest.

I've had him for over a year now and when I bought him he was about 12 ins
long, now he is about 15 ins

 Can I save him? I just hate to see him suffer like this.
My Dad has large tanks outside with non aggressive fish that
I might be able to put him in, but we don't have any spare tanks
we could use as a med tank right now. (the gold fish took it over)
