PC’s are giving way to more portable options for the esteemed customers in the form of Laptops. Every one is in for pleasant surprise since besides being light weight they are synonymous with utmost sophistication and luxury. Now you can undertake long journey without compromising on your official work as they can be easily carried “any where” and “every where”

The days of PC’s are over as it further authenticates by the list generated by Amazon of the “Top 10 selling PC’s” where not even a single PC made to the list in comparison to whopping seven tech laptops which bagged the coveted positions.

In a world where technology has further made the lives of people easy, the advent of computers into laptops is termed to be an inevitable sign which is augured well amongst masses.

These high powered laptops are priced reasonably which further enhances their popularity.

Have you ever expected to use Internet while on journey, or at public places and in short you can take your office any where you go, has made every one blessed with such a renowned technology. Taiwan has been pioneer in making highly advanced and sophisticated laptops as their production comprises whopping 80% of the total laptop PCs of the world. The prices of laptops are further reduced as higher the sales directly imply to the fact that costs goes down. Therefore, now the difference between the prices of laptops and PC’s are bridging as well. Technology always respects innovation where “smaller the product”, “better it is” and laptops are the live example of the same which has certainly grabbed eye balls. Now, laptops are ruling the market. however, on the same lines, the big question pertains to the fact as to what is in store for Desktops?

Although, in such an age, there are hardly any person who is buying desktops, yet Gaming addicts might have a coveted reason to go for the PC’s since they are offering comparably high processing power for applications pertaining to memory.

Those who are little tight with money can equally go for desktops as they offer a bit saving.

However, it is not wrong to say that in the evolving market, where technology is further advancing itself and market is going to see even reduced and compatible pieces of inventions, it can be emphatically said that the days of PC are over.

It pays to make right decisions at the right time and as you get in touch with a Laptop, you feel that you have made the right choice which will strengthen and boost your professional life. Since, you will always have your office whenever you go. Great, isn’t it? Various renowned companies are manufacturing highly coveted, sophisticated and dedicated tech laptops according to the needs and expectations of the consumers. The craze of the laptops are certainly noteworthy as they are there to make the biggest ever presence in the world like never before. The coming days are further going to be a witness to various such tech laptops too. Isn’t it?

For every successful business, there’s a strong workforce. And to take advantage of this strength, the right people should be chosen for the right jobs. HR recruitment is a process that can be graphically represented in a chart. Meaning, it’s generally the same process that’s being implemented every time a new position is opened or an old one is vacated. And since it’s the same old repetitive process, using an HR system to automate the whole sequence is an obvious path to take, especially in a world where productivity spells a whole universe of difference.

There is a gamut of hiring automation applications to choose from in the marketplace nowadays, like Comindware Tracker, Perfect Software, Myco Portal, Capterra and a whole slew of others. If you’re new to the idea, the first question that normally comes to mind is, which hiring process software is the right one for you?

Characteristics of a good hiring process software

Developers would say the right hiring software should contribute to overall productivity by streamlining processes and eliminating redundant tasks. Hiring managers would tell you that it should help you find the most qualified candidates quickly. Said differently, but both reasons substantiate the whole idea behind automation.

To help you spot the best hiring software for your company, consider the following characteristics:

Visibility, real-time control and team collaboration

Workflow – a sequence of activities associated with a specific task or goal

Visibility is one staple trait that the right workflow software should possess. With visibility, you have a clear picture of the status of your hiring workflow real-time, allowing you to spot flaws, if any, and make the necessary adjustments before this particular flaw makes a mess of your entire workflow. Collaboration among members of the HR team is paramount to ensure recruitment targets are met seamlessly and on time. With visibility, team members know who to consult with for a particular task, i.e., who to approach to find out why the exam results of a particular candidate hadn’t been forwarded yet.

Flexibility and ease of use

There is no such thing as a perfect workflow, only a workflow that works. A good hiring application should be flexible. Flexibility, in this context, means the workflow can be tweaked on-the-fly to accommodate process changes and end-result requirements, all the while making sure that the whole process doesn’t have to be upset to make way for such changes. As well, your hiring process solution of choice should allow even those without extensive designing backgrounds the ability to efficiently design and edit a workflow through drag-and-drop technology – no fuss, no difficulty, just a well-formulated workflow that delivers what it is expected to deliver.

Third-party software integration

Microsoft Outlook, your CRM software – with the right automation software, you don’t have to throw these out of the window altogether, especially if they do bring you and your business a lot of good. A good hiring process software can be integrated with third-party applications through API (application programming interface).

Cost-effectiveness

Considering the many things that have to be done when selecting the most eligible candidate for an open job post, constantly finding yourself without time for a lot of things is a common occurrence. And because time has become a very rare commodity for many recruitment professionals, the right job-hunting software, when properly implemented, should save you valuable time. Since time saved is money saved, this helps you cut down on costs by being able to perform more tasks, all the while ensuring you’re entrusting every job vacancy in good hands.

Final word

Uncovering the perfect job-hunting software for your company’s specific hiring needs may require a bit of time and some trial and error. If you decide to start looking today, you might want to start with the 30-day free trial offered by Comindware.

The most recent Google I/O brought us with many sweet announcements like Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in the Nexus 7 Tablet, Chrome & Google drive for iOS, a New Google Play store and the list goes on. Being very much of a futuristic device, the Nexus 7 carries some good components along with decent hardware (considering the price tag) but in my opinion, it carries some of the major flaws. These are some of the non-discussed things about the Nexus 7 Tablet, which can drag it towards its decline.

Going towards the basic specs, the Nexus 7 carries a 7″ screen, 1280×800 resolution HD screen. It merely weights about 340 g and all the built-in electronics is made by ASUS. Some regular things like WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC are present. It has a front facing camera, although no rear camera is present in the Nexus 7. On the software side it has the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. For the visual eye candy, it has Tegra chipset, with a quad-core CPU and 12-core GPU. The release date announced by Google was mid-July, but it can be pre-ordered via the Google Play store for just $199.99.

If you are convinced enough to buy this device, then here is a list of things about the Nexus 7 tablet which can make you change your mind. Her I’ve listed the things which are not present in the Nexus 7 tablet and can become a fail!

1. Limited storage — Only 5.5 GB of available user space

Although the Nexus 7 tablet has 8GB of storage but the available user space is only 5.5 GB as the rest is for the system files. This is somewhat very disappointing as the other tablet makers like Apple are introducing tablets with as much as 64GB of space. To overcome this problem you can spend some more money and 16GB variant of the Nexus 7 tablet for $249.

2. No SD-Card Slot

Limiting the users to 8GB was not enough for Google. To further make the things worse, Google removed the SD-Card slot and forced the users to squeeze themselves in the mere 5.5GB of space. To overcome this problem you will have to buy the 16GB version of the Nexus 7 tablet. When all other Android devices are getting a micro-sd card slot, why was the Nexus 7 tablet deprived of one?

3. Poor application support

On the 4-5 inch screens, the Android apps work just fine. But when it comes to the somewhat big screens, the optimization breaks up. On the 7” screen of the Nexus 7 tablet, the apps look pixellated and the beautification just gets lost. Talking of numbers, the Google Play store has 600,000 apps which struggle to look good on the HD resolution of Nexus 7 tablet. The apps look somewhat pixellated and don’t show smooth graphics on the tablet.

4. No 3G/4G connectivity

In terms of connectivity, Nexus 7 falls short. In the Google I/O Event, The WiFi version of Nexus 7 was announced. Remember there is no 3G/4G version available so the Nexus 7 can prove to be useless in the places where you don’t have a WiFi connectivity. With the standard Bluetooth and WiFi you will not be able to remain connected everywhere.

5. No rear camera

The strange thing about the Google Nexus 7 tablet is that it doesn’t carry a rear/main camera. Although it has a front facing camera for video conferencing, but…….. These days when the camera has become a standard in any mobile device, why was the Google Nexus 7 deprived of one? Let the answer be anything, but I know many people who never bother to use the rear camera of their tablet so the removal of camera from the Google Nexus 7 may not be a thing of concern for everyone.

6. No HDMI or MHL ports

Speaking of connectivity, the Google Nexus 7 is very limited. To be precise, it just has a micro-USB port along with an earphone jack. So you won’t be able to connect the Google Nexus 7 to your High definition monitor or any of the projectors (just in case). Overall the connectivity is limited.

Here was a short list of things can limit the functionality of the new Nexus 7 tablet. I know much of the stuff has not been listed. Do a comment below to let me know, more of the things not listed here.

Steve is a technological admirer. He looks forward to to search, learn, and often write down in online sites like this one. He is likewise a 3d rendering specialist as a result of his extended practice.

The National Geographic Channel has this documentary series entitled “Doomsday Preppers” which follows survivalists as they prepare for the end of civilization as we know it. While some may shake their heads at what they consider “apparent absurdity of it all,” a lot are fascinated by the ingenious stuff these preppers come up with.Come to think of it, who’s to blame them for doing what they’ve got to do? We are living in uncertain times. One moment, everything’s fine and dandy; the next, Mother Earth throws a tantrum that threatens to either rip up the tallest building in the vicinity from top to bottom, or drown a group of people gathered together for a night of bonfire and fun by the beach.

Of course, there are other ways by which life as we know it today can end, but we’re not about to dwell on those. After all is said and done, how far you’re willing to go to prepare for the worst is up to you. Nevertheless, whether the world is ending or not, here are three survival tips to keep in mind:

1. Know what SURVIVAL means.

From the U.S. Army survival manual is the following meaning to the keyword SURVIVAL:

S – Size up the situation.

U – Use all your senses. Undue haste makes waste.

R – Remember where you are.

V – Vanquish fear and panic.

I – Improvise.

V – Value living.

A – Act like the natives.

L – Live by your wits. But for now, learn basic skills.

2. Prepare an emergency kit.

In the event of serious flooding, a bad storm or any major disaster, basic utility services such as electricity, water and phone lines can become unavailable. Survival experts recommend that you should be self-sufficient for at least three days. The following are some of the basic things your emergency kit should have:

a gallon of water per person per day

food that’s ready to eat or require as little water as possible

can opener and cooking supplies

flash light and extra batteries

battery-operated radio

copies of important documents

a list of relatives’ contact information and emergency phone numbers

extra clothes and rain protection for each family member

blankets and sleeping bags

personal hygiene items

medicines or stuff for family members with special needs

food, water and supplies for pets, if any

3. Be resourceful.

The SURVIVAL meaning laid out above may sum it all up. But to expound on the I – improvisation, that is – it’s best to keep in mind that resourcefulness is not an ability granted to an elite few, but a survival skill that we all should possess. For instance, that high quality stretch wrap from Kite Packaging that you’ve been meaning to dump in the trash bin this morning may actually save your life. Believe it or not, it can be used as a rope, as temporary shelter, a makeshift umbrella or poncho to protect you from the elements. It can also be used as an added layer of insulation for your clothes or sleeping bag.Remember, with dire situations, focus is what saves the day. You’d be amazed at the inventive little things you’d be able to come up with.

Final word

The same way prevention is better than cure, when dealing with natural or man-made disasters, preparedness, a clear mind and a strong will are still your time-tested weapons to survive and tell the tale.

Since October this is the second time when the petrol prices have been cut down and Thursday was that glorious (somewhat) day when this happened. Following this price reduction, the price of petrol in New Delhi will drop to Rs. 67.24 per liter from Rs. 68.19 per liter. Although these prices will be different in all the major cities of India but at least there is some relief as compared to nothing at all and that is due to the fact that different states have different VAT in India.

Apart from this, the last cut in the price of petrol was on Oct, 9 when the prices dropped by Rs. 0.56 making the prices to rest at Rs. 67.90 per liter but again following the trend of Indian government, the prices were hiked by Rs. 0.29 per liter days afterwards.

As said above, the price cut in different states are different but some numbers are available to us. For instance, the reduction in petrol price in Mumbai is Rs. 1.20 per liter making it Rs. 73.53. Meanwhile in Chennai the price of petrol has declined to Rs. 70.57 per liter as compared to the older Rs. 71.77 per liter.

The price reductions are great for the general consumers and when taken seriously these kind of price cuts can benefit the consumers readily if not greatly.

The guys over at Gamespot have managed to grab a copy of the game and the one who is playing the game is itself — Mike Reed, Producer, Crytek.

The basic story comes that the unnatural power of the Nanodrome has changed the old train yards into opposing Cell Artilery making it the dangerous place on earth. News is coming that Crytek, the company behind Crysis, has been working on the 4th iteration of the game while the Crysis 3 makes its arrival in Feb, 2013.

That’s a pretty exciting news for the whole Bollywood, as Salman himself announced in the stage of Bigg Boss 6 that Dabangg 2 would be coming out soon, at the time of announcement the video was not live on youtube. But, the trailer is live now, and you can watch the same.

Dabangg 2 has been directed by Salman Khan’s own brother Arbaz Khan. If the story is going to be similar then this won’t be a big hit, but due to the fan following of Salman Khan we can expect this to be hit as well. The date of official release is 21 December 2012.

Son of Sardar was released on the festival day of diwali that was yesterday. Son of Sardar is a comedy type of film featuring Ajay Devgan, Juhi Chawla, Sonakshi Sinha, and Sanjay Dutt. There is a bit of romance too in this film. This movie is yet another remake by YashRaj Films, from the Telugu movie Maryada Ramanna. This movie is also being called as SOS by many people.

Review of Movie Son of Sardar

My Review: This was a average movie according to me, there is no story. But, the movie is entertaining and is able to make you laugh which is the most important thing. This would be great movie to watch with your family. Would be a 3.5 / 5.0 for this one.

Below are the reviews made by big publications around the web. 5 is the maximum rating.

NDTV: 1.5

Zee News: 3.0

Bollywood Life: 2.5

CNN IBN: 3.5

TOI: 3

So the rating I’ve made is correct, most of the publications have rated the movie around 3 out of 5 which is extremely correct. Though I would personally recommend you to go and watch this movie.

Below is the theatrical trailer of the film which might give you a small idea of what the film is about.

The very popular Macintosh computer is disreputably resistant to almost all viruses, adware, and spyware affecting Windows-based computers. The underlying reason is the security and virus protection provided by Mac Operating System.

However, the occurrence of viruses or any other malware popping up over the internet can be avoided by following the below mentioned tips:

Safe browsing

Times have gone when Internet Explorer was supported as Safari, Mac OS, Opera, and Firefox are being considered relatively better browsers as far as security matters are concerned. Opting for virus resistant browsers is a good way to protect your PC and Mac from viruses. This feature can be provided by antivirus for Mac – BitDefender Internet Security.

Avoid download from non-trusted sources

Try and avoid downloading any stuff from a non-trusted source. Most of the spyware and adware programs are present as “.exe” executable. However, Mac OS is safe from the embedded malware of “.exe” executable as it does not support native running of “.exe”. However, downloading from unsafe and non-trusted sites should still be avoided.

Ensure secure emails

To protect your PC and Mac from viruses, just make sure that you are receiving secure emails. Also, avoid downloading any attachments which were not expected, plus disable images.

Use Instant Messaging Programs

Update the privacy settings on the Instant Messaging Programs. Generally, most IM Programs include privacy settings which help in filtering your contacts. Your PC and Mac may be at the risk of being attacked by adware, malicious software, and perchance viruses. Avoid downloading anything unless and until you are sure about it being completely safe. The stuff includes images as well.

Disable Macros

While using MS Office, ensure that you disable Macros if the document being opened and worked upon has originated somewhere else. As a matter of great surprise, Office documents form one of the major situations where viruses can attack Windows Operating System as well as Mac. Therefore, keep the Office software updated.

Here are some other steps towards making your PC and Mac virus resistant by downloading effective antivirus software. If you want to test drive the security then you can go with BitDefender free antivirus Take a look!

Go for a full system scanning: This is the first step towards making your PC and Mac virus resistant. Click on the ‘HOME’ tab, followed by selecting ‘FULL’ under the ‘SCAN OPTIONS’ further followed by clicking the visible ‘SCAN NOW’ button. It would take some time for your computer to get scanned, about an hour or even more. However, this wouldn’t affect your work as you can do other things simultaneously.

After the scanning is done, move further and click ‘QUICK’ under ‘SCAN OPTIONS’ for upcoming scans. Follow the process by clicking the SETTINGS tab so as to set a schedule for time to time virus checks.

The procedure does not end here. Even after downloading antivirus, it is very important to keep a check on the security icon being displayed in the system tray (situated in the right corner down the screen). An icon with a green flag shows a positive sign. In case of a red flag, take it as a warning to perform the required updates.
