Typing Tutor v1.1

The update for Typing Tutor is shipped as expected. It includes a number of bug fixes as well as a minor improvement. Here’s the list:

Autocompletion boxes now react to touches.
You can now scroll the text if you wish to see how much is left to type.
The word you type becomes red when you make a typo.
The tutorial text is now randomized, so you don’t have to type the same text over and over again.

That’s it for now. I plan to add some features in the next version. That’s too early to tell you what would make it to the next version and what would not. The only thing I can tell you is the next version would be fun, yet practical. Please jot me a mail if you want some particular feature implemented.

A Brief Summary

Typing Tutor, my pilot iPhone app, went live in the App Store on Saturday, 11th October. So far it has been downloaded more times than I could ever expect. This is quite positive and I’m quite happy about the fact, indeed.

Nevertheless, there’s a great deal of things to fix and a huge room for improvements in the app. In the last couple of days I guess I’ve squashed most of the bugs and they now live only as the “fixed” items in the future release notes draft.

So… I guess, I’ll release the update really soon. Stay tuned.

The Final Countdown

The app is finally going through the review process.

It’s finally the time to do a good summary of the things that had been accomplished. The overall development process took around a month. Being new to Cocoa programming I had to learn lots of new APIs. I had to learn the language as well. And I should admit I really fell in love with the both parts of the process. So, if you ask me what my love is… nowadays it’s the blend of Cocoa and Objective-C.

Stay tuned, as I’ve got some more ideas that are worth implementing.
