The flaghsip stores in Milan, Pavia and Verona of the well-known italian brand of make-up were launched with a concept all made by Hangar Design Group and they mean the debut of Deborah Milano in the specialized retail.

In the heart of the Milano shopping area, at 58 in Corso Buenos Aires, was opened a few months ago the new Deborah Milano Store signed by Hangar Design Group, which was followed by the openings of Pavia and Verona, which enact the entry of Deborah Milano in the specialized retail.

Arranged on one level on 40 square meters, the flagship well illustrates the concept created by Hangar Design Group, focused on maximum emphasis for product, which becomes the only protagonist of the entire space.

Bright and airy, the store confirms the importance of the solutions about materials and colors choosen to return a appropriate mood to the needs of the client: the atmosphere is thin and neutral while the concept adopts a rational design and exhibition in an environment of great uniformity and visual unity, to emphasize the various shades and shapes of the cosmetics.

The store outside is candid, amplified by the reflective surfaces of the furnitures and the iridescent panels on the walls, which echo the vibrancy of the color fading in the neutrality of the variations of white. The interiors refuse any color variations to give space to the bright color of make up, true identity of the brand.

Rigorous and extreme formal clarity, the concept shows the perfect combination of being innovative and up to date of Deborah. These stores offer the full range of products, inclusive not only of the different collections of make-up but also the body and the men references. Conceived both a place of sale and a reference point where the consumer can find personalized advices, the store is a showcase designed to communicate the company’s vocation for innovation.

The concept of the flagship store emphasizes the aesthetic dimension of the color and the packaging, spreading to most of the space devoted to the products displayed in series arranged in a visual rhythm of pictorial inspiration.

Stands on the walls, in neutral shades on a bright texture, the sign of the brand, which also appears in the outside mirror glass. Reflective material, brushed steel or polished, is also the façade, an explicit call to take care of ourself and to indulge in a full immersion in the Deborah world of beauty.

ABC bar-club, transformation by sas specific architectural solutions

The bar-club is located where the balcony of the “Lumen” used to be: this former Lausanne cinema opened in 1908 then became the “ABC” in 1935. It was, at one time, one of the largest screens in Europe. In 1998, the cinema became the D! club, where the clubbing area took up the two spatial sections: the stalls and the balcony.

In 2012, the architects sas architecture and the client developed a “club within the club” concept for the balcony, separate from the D! club. They designed an intimate area both “rock attitude” and chic. The balcony’s original volumes were made visible again and magnified, retaining the possibility of reverting to the original immense volume for specific events. The client’s wish was for extreme flexibility of use and a very striking identity.

The architects played with the building’s historic features as well as with its facetted geometry. They introduced reflection effects to splinter the existing space. The existing bar element was extended and tiled with tinted mirrors. It therefore became an impressive shining element connecting the full height of the former entry area with the former balcony.

Decor and lighting were developed with decorator Alexandre Boyer who repeatedly made reference to the cinema: Merry-Go-Round planes chasing each other 5 meters up in the air, tables recovered from former cabaret “La Belle Époque”; 2 colossal light fixtures from Le Havre, Normandy shipyards; velvet drapes; cinema seats; Ladies’ decorated with “Dolce Vita” paparazzi paraphernalia; and a “Closer” movie atmosphere in the Gents’.

Frederic Perers and Jordi Tamayo recently have completed the Multiplastic.

Created in 1955, Multiplastic has become a classic of commercial landscape of Barcelona, always dedicated to the sale of plastic products. Multiplastic carefully selects items sold from a design concept that equates aesthetics and functionality, and that values innovation above all. The shop offers reference product manufacturers such as Lékué, Guzzini, Menu, Alessi or Habitare.

Frederic Perers (Barcelona, 1974) and Jordi Tamayo (Barcelona, 1972), authors of the new interior design of Multiplastic, have deployed a project that recovers the industrial character of the original space, visible especially in the beamed ceiling and the iron columns. The creation of a neutral container helps to differentiate the product from the domestic industry, and the lighting creates an atmosphere that updates the presence of the company’s corporate blue. Finally, the interior also plans to redefine the boundary between the commercial space and warehouse space, and the relationship of the store with the street, with a clear insight in both directions: from the street to the inside and vice versa. Multiplastic has been included in the Barcelona Design Tour by BCD.

Perers and Tamayo met in 1997 working in the Antoni Arola Studio. Perers is an interior designer, author of projects such as Splash Laundromat, the Tortosa Museum and the Espai Ermengol. Tamayo is an interior and product designer, he has worked for companies such as Valira, Rabasa and Ofita, and he is the author of New Oven.

Tunnel Monitoring Complex Hausmannstaetten \ Dietger Wissounig Architekten

The large complex of buildings nestled on level ground along the new Hausmannstaetten bypass road covers three functions: tunnel control centre, central repair shop and road maintenance depot. In order to keep the intrusion to a minimum, the building was interpreted as part of the landscape. It follows the course of the road and the green roofs, which regulate the climate and blend in with the fields farmed in strips. A planted embankment forms the boundary to the bypass. Additionally, the way the elongated position of buildings is chosen, they contribute to noise protection in favor of the neigbouring small houses. On the one hand, the complex consequently uses the existing topographical conditions to minimise noise, energy and routes. On the other hand, its clear, simple design vocabulary stabilises the atmosphere of the heterogeneous environment.

The building complex at the west portal of the Himmelreich tunnel at Hausmannstätten enters into a consistent dialogue with the surrounding landscape. By dint of its size and development along the tunnel entrance, the structure impacts on the landscape, of which it forms an integral part.

The green roofs follow the course of the street. The earth banks already on the building site and neighbouring plot, heaped up for tunnel construction, are only partially rearranged and form the new topography in combination with the roofs. The top edges of the roofs and earth banks are at the same height. Seen from the country road, the impression is one of having parts of the landscape in front of you. The eye ranges over the green roof surfaces to the Graz Basin with its plot pattern of short strip fields.

The architecture is characterised by a calm, pragmatic style. The aim was to stabilise the surrounding area, that is dominated by suburban detached houses and commercial developments. The reserved architectural language serves as a background for the heterogeneous neighbourhood.

In addition to the areas of extensive roof and embankment greenery, the materials used are above all long-lived.

To cater for the heavy burden of the weather and works transport (frost and thaw salt), extremely robust natural materials are used such as reinforced concrete (also for crash guards), wood in the interior protected from the weather, steel and industrial glass. These materials define the appearance of the façades. In some areas high-quality, resistant materials are used, for example stainless steel in the washing bay – simply for reasons of severe exposure to corrosion due to steam.

Arraying bead, bone, stone on a string is as old as the human history. First humans used to cut their hunts into pieces and array them on a string and wear it on their neck in order to bring them success in their next hunt.

Beads were first seen in India for religious purposes and to count prayers. Rosary has moved from India to the Middle East then to Europe. The purpose of rosary is the same in Islam, Christianity (catholic), Hinduism and Buddhism which is to use it for counting the prayers. It arrived to present time with different habits; many peopleuse it to express individuality, and for the purpose of relieving stress.

Ottoman is coming has reflected this philosophy into the lightingdesign, with many size beads arrayed on a string was expressed in a lighting body. The body of lighting and hat is representing a janissary figure.

It’s a design product which is telling the rosary philosophy, with the form story of the janissary.

The Cultural Center of Chapultepec is designed to merge the concepts of aesthetics and functionality. It is to become the icon of the city through its subtle yet dynamic form and overall composition.

The building is thoughtfully designed as a singular form with material simplicity. It seeks to create a city focal point that adapts to its surrounding context, and establishes itself as the heart of the local community.

Though designed as a singular volume, the building changes in dynamics when viewed at different location. It gives the public glimpses of the activities within the center. The northern façade, cladded with molten cast glass, allows the public to be visually connected to the slow and calm movement of users through the exhibition halls. The translucent characteristic of the material enhances the ambient qualities of the interior.

The dynamic southern façade, along with thoughtfully designed parametric openings, corresponds to the 3 dimensional flow of users connected between each level via the circular staircase. The volume is lowered and recessed on the southern end, and as a result opens up the classrooms to the view of the public. The rooftop above the southern lower block is a garden terrace designed to be used as a pre-function space for the auditorium. The south facing terrace allow users to enjoy views onto the city above surrounding roof and tree tops. The carved out volumes of the concrete block at ground level forms 2 dynamic gateways into the building. The fluidity of the cast concrete surfaces draws the dynamic from the pedestrian walkway into the center. The building sets back at the street corner and creates a covered area for public interaction in front of the buildings’ main entrance. The spatial arrangements inside the building encourage users to explore and experience the diversified activities within the cultural center.

The Cultural Center of Chapultepec is to become a center of poly-functional learning as well as a space where art and culture predominantly co-exist. The ultimate goal of the proposal seeks to provide and educational experience with a cultural twist, nurturing a center for the appreciation and academic enrichment of culture, design, art and architecture.

Swarovski in BASELWORLD 2013 \ Tokujin Yoshioka

At BASELWORLD 2013 in Switzerland known as an international trade show of watch and jewellery, the new stand of SWAROVSKI designed by Tokujin Yoshioka was presented.

‘Wings of Sparkle’

SWAROVSKI stand is an immense circular stand that covers more than 2,000 m2 over two levels, taken up its residence within the fair’s new hall.

The stand is entirely surrounded by a 7 meter high curved wall of 155 meters circumference. This is made of 253,231 reflectors with a mirrored surface that symbolize the facets so characteristic of Swarovski, and on these 60 mm reflectors, 22,856 LED lights were positioned on the Sparkle wall.

In the stand, its watch and fashion jewelry collections are displayed, and it is a poetic reference to Swarovski’s brand signature concept. Visitors enter the world of Swarovski by being veiled with light of luminance and immerse in a bath of light. This fascinating glow also evokes images of a swan on a lake spreading its wings gracefully.

With the great curvature and the dynamic space of lights, the visitors are enveloped in the sparkle and experience the light itself as if entering into the dazzling crystal and expresses Swarovski’s ‘ world of luminance ‘ with its pursuit of beauty.

About the interior of Swarovski stand

To reflect the facade within the stand, there is a crystal wall which would also serve to provide a dividing element from the open stand to the PR/VIP and bar areas. The crystal walls consisting of a total of 34,000 cut crystals used the same geometric, hexagonal shape as per the facade reflector and was produced by Swarovski, Wattens in Austria.

In the interior the stand is furnished with 40 freestanding showcases designed by Tokujin Yoshioka. His inspiration for the design of the showcase comes from the shape of the crystal structure and realized consistently in the hexagon shape of different heights.

Jonathan DORTHE designed the Pentagon Trivet & Coasters for Atelier-D.

Set of 4 pentagon shaped coasters and one trivet. The coasters are in 1/4” plywood, they are etched and stained on one side with a geometric pattern and the other side has a natural finish and no etching.The trivet has a natural finish. You can use them individually on a small table or combine them to protect a bigger surface. The trivet is 9 1/4” x 9 1/4” and the coasters are 3 3/4” wide x 1/4” thick.
