An exciting new £400,000 scheme of volunteering projects aimed at bringing young and old together is about to start in Plymouth.

Funding has been awarded to the city as part of a £5.5 million cross-government scheme to promote intergenerational volunteering. The ?Generations Together? campaign will create nearly 2,000 volunteering opportunities in Plymouth over the next two years.

After a period of some uncertainty over funding, Avenues our Supported Volunteering Project is set to continue. In July this year we signed a new contract with Plymouth City Council to support 50 people with mental health issues into volunteering opportunities. Avenues is a project within the Volunteer Centre which supports people experiencing, or who have experienced, mental health difficulties into volunteering.
