Cammino zoppicanso lievemente perché la caviglia destra è ancora un po’ dolorante. In stazione scopro che il treno delle 8.11 è cancellato. E che il treno delle 8.19 è in ritardo.

Sento che è una metafora della mia vita. (andarsi a cercare treni che possono anche decidere di non passare)

Sul binario 3, con un pallido sole e 1 grado. Ho i piedi freddi.

Il treno al momento è fremo a un semaforo rosso.

Flying off tomorrow. 

It has been a working day in the office. I have had a double lovely surprise: I finished my shift at 00:30. The team had the “happy birthday” song in the background music and this has been a huge surprise for me.

The next day, was working again and at around 6pm  a cake appeared on the floor surprising me again. Is Tradition in India to give cake with hands to the one who is celebrating birthday, and also to spread cake on the face. (I have missed this second step.) it has been a completely unexpected part of the celebration. One of the lovely ladies I am working with, her name Ashwini took me a typical local “sweet bite”  made with garam flour that I liked very much. I looked for the recipe online and I will try to replicate that once at home. 

Last but not least I also had a loved dinner next day with Ilaria and Luigi at the Hyatt Pune Hotel And got a second yummy cake.  

I really enjoyed all the food that has been prepared for us. They have all been so kind. I like when people are proud of their culinary tradition.

Sunday has been a day of sightseeing around the city. We really underestimated how crowded can be a temple on Sundays with the result of been able to see Ganesh Temple – Dagdusheth Ganpati – only from outside. We then headed to a big Street market nearby. The last hop of the day was the Shaniwar Wada Fort where unexpectedly we turned out to be the attraction for some young locals wanting to take pictures with us (sooo weird!)

So I went on the ground floor in the IBM canteen and tried to order a double ginger tea.

“how much is a double ginger tea? ”
” 50″
“How big is the double tea? ”

He shows me a paper cup smaller than a mug.

” here on the board the price Il 10, how big is the regular one? ”

He shows me  paper cup that is half the previous one.

” is the big one the double of the small one? ”

He is not fully happy with that, but says Yes.

” so how much will be the price? ”

” 20″

“fine. It is with no milk, is it? ” I ask two times.

He moves his head, pours the tea in a side and I can not see what he is doing, but he handles me something that is not transparent.

OK. 20 rupees for a tea that I have thrown away.
(note to self: Next time leave it on the counter).

Guardo “il caso spotlight” e mi addormento con l’aiuto di un paio di bicchieri di vino bianco spagnolo dopo cena.

Dormo praticamente un sonno unico fino a che il capitano ci sveglia.
Salto la colazione indiana accontendandomi di in panino vuoto e un caffè, non so ancora che è un errore perché praticamente non toccherò più cibo fino a sera.

Al terminal arrivi la wifi è ottima, contrariamente a quella di casa.

All’uscita del terminal lo choc termico è importante: non credo di aver goduto di 30 gradi da moltissimi mesi, ma dopo 30 minuti sono perfettamente a mio agio.

La manager ci è venuta a prendere sorbendosi un pick up alle 7 e 5 ore di auto. Il viaggio Mumbai Pune dura 5 ore che passerò seduta su uno scomodissimo sedile.

L’uscita da Mumbai e l’entrata a Pune passano per vie iper trafficate conteggiate da baracche che ospitano di tutto: da abitazioni a piccole attività commerciali.

Per ora la sensazione più forte è quella di fronte a questa povertà incredibile.

L’arrivo a Pune è liberatorio.

Sono 6 mesi e 19 giorni che sono a Londra.
Quello che non vi ho ancora mai raccontato che da quando sono arrivata qui la cosa che mi ha fatto pi compagnia di tutte stata la Solitudine.

Non c’ telefonino, o Whatsapp che tenga.
Semplicemente dovrai essere tu, quasi sempre, a cercare tutti.
Perch la gente lontana persa nei “suoi giri e nei suoi guai”, e tu sei lontana che fai chissche.

E ringrazio non solo perch “la mia mamma mi ha fatto poco intelligente”, ma anche perch il mio analista mi ha insegnato che non sono antisociale, ma pi semplicemente egosintonica.

E mi bacio i gomiti.

Solo che poi arriva il giorno in cui accade qualcosa di assoutamente normale – mia mamma che si prepara per andare al mare – e mi viene da piangere (piangere sul serio).

Perch questo squarcio di routine estiva mi fa desiderare di essere li con lei, perch mi manca, come mi mancano tutti gli altri che non sento mai e che non si fanno mai sentire.

Perch diciamocelo: Fabebook come un pannicello caldo per curare la fame nel mondo, quando si tratta di mantenere veri rapporti di amicizia.

E mi fermo a scrivere queste parole, quando invece dovrei studiare il libro della prince2, prima di andare a fare il mio turno di 6 ore, di questo lavoro che mi pagher le spese per i prossimi X mesi.
