Yes, they do talk about using the TCPMP player but the ASF format, while not common, does not need TCPMP to run (I don't think...unless they somehow customised it to the extent that that player is mandatory).

Anyway, take a look...let us know what you think, and in particular - were you successful in viewing any of them?

One thing that struck me is that ASF files are usually highly compressed and quite small...but these are compressed to about 3MB/min. Will be interesting to see why they are so big.

Google opens YouTube TestTube

Not much on there so far...

Link to Google opens YouTube TestTube - Download Squad

But this might be worth watching for new mashups for short videos...

IBM Tool 'Reads' Web Video for the Blind

IBM has made a tool for Web browsers that will help the blind and visually impaired access streaming multimedia on the Web.

...designed to handle any file that is embedded in a Web site, including Adobe Flash or Windows Media files.

http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9588_22-6166491.html

Another interactive tabletop

Oh my goodness, they're popping up all over the place now...

http://video.google.ca/blogpost?docid=-80456302291...

This one from Intuilabs looks a bit more limited than the others, plus it is not rear or internal projection...but nonetheless, you can see that this style of working would catch on rapidly.

Google Earth on a tabletop

Similar to what I posted a while back, here is another tabletop screen that can accept complex user input.

http://video.google.ca/blogpost?docid=642066872835...

This Google video shows its use in a Warcraft game and with Google Earth. They go there to see what the latest fascinatum is. And if you do want to search, both YouTube and Google Video have plenty capable searches...and vastly increased pool in which to search. So you are much more likely to find what you want there, not because it is better organised or because the search engine is better - just because the scope of the content is orders of magnitude greater...well at least at the moment.

They do have some of the more popular recent uploads...but I suspect that Vidipedia is too late to the scene to catch up now...unless they find something else to attract users.

Multi-Touch Interaction Research

I posted this a while ago but it came up again in recent conversation.

Link to Multi-Touch Interaction Research

This is a fascinating multiple touch point interaction screen - worth watching the 5 minute video.
