I didn't use the headset this time, so I sound a little off, but what can you do when its cold and you live in a shoe? :P
Enjoy the show, let us know what you think here, or at the website www.galaxy42.ca

Welcome to Gate Keeper Radio, and yes, we are still alive!
A lot of things have happened in the last few months.
Moving, moving into hell, moving into renovations, winter, Christmas, needing a new phone.

But there has been some good in everything.
Like the ability to see people for what they really are and to see just

how amazing some that I had been doubting really are.
If nothing else the last few months have taught me that I have a lot more to be thankful for then I may have thought in the past.

In that bag of goodness I was also given the book "The Wind Up Girl" by a friend of mine.
This bok is brillant.

It's not a fast read, only because you need wrap your brain around new terms and use of terms.
This world is completely the authors own, and it is amazing.

I recommend this book, I also recommend taking a week off work so you don't have to put it down.

I can absolutely see why this book got as many awards as it did.
It won 5 of the 5 it was up for and I can not help but feel the author still got ripped off.
It's definitely up there in my top 10.

My love for books has been changing ever since I upgraded from the

Blackberry I had to the iPhone.
A phone I swore I'd never get, however thanks to the Android going to a crappy no coverage carrier here my hand was forced.

I'm trapped in a 3 year plan, but it's the best phone I could have got..
It can also in it's current form be used as an educational device there is just that much on it, that falls under that category.

I spend so much time going back and forth now between home and home 2 that, digital books are just easier for me.
It's about having to carry less with me.
If it were easier to carry things with me, then absolutely I would still buy the actual book but it's just not easier and it won't be.

At least until I come up with a bag that allows me to slide the book and other crap I am carrying under or on the chair, rather then my lap when I am transporting.

The WindUp Girl was proof of that, my laptop weighs a ton, the extended battery, 15" widescreen and it just barely fits into my bag.
Then I have to toss in my notebook a pen or two and clothing and occasionally a couple cans of pop and or a container of cream for coffee.

Leaving me zero room for a book.
I've been known to tuck a book in my coat on occasion with a big fluffy elephant stuffy but that only works for so long then it just gets irritating especially if you don't have to deal with weird looks when you stop into a convience store.

However, I still get that elephant hanging out of my coat look because I now often have a panda on my head.

So digital it is, the advantage being there is also a few dozen book readers which have free full edition books you can read at will.

So it can be awhile before you actually think about paying for a book.
You've also got books that are free, no reader included, as well as the option of putting PDF's on your phone.
Endless possibilities.

Trust me I'd know, I have developed this problem called downloading apps..
It's not surprizing if I don't end up having to sync my phone daily just to move things that I've already read or am sick of playing around.

Has your phone changed the way you usually read or what you usually read?
What's your favourite books of 2010?
Let me know here or on the website.

Challenges of the Week:

Live outside of your comfort zone for one week.

Read something you normally don't go near, watch a foreign movie, subscribe to an rss feed on a topic you normally wouldn't be exposed to, try some new ethnic foods. surf youtube for some completely different music.

Keep a blog, send me the link, the best blogs will get show cased on the site.

Question of the week to all the Fall Out 3 fans:

You have your own fall out shelter, money is no object, how do you deck yours out be it for survival or because you can. Best entries get show cased - don't be afraid to have fun with it, your secrets remain anonymous, unless you want otherwise.
