Despite an outstanding performance by Goalkeeper Craig Rants to earn a shutout by the end of the match. Podiatry Associates lost during penalty kicks 2-0 at the end of a shortened session (2x 35 minute halves) at the Rapids' Stadium.

Rants made two incredible saves to keep us in the match. Great game Craig!

We would like to thank all of our supporter's and especially Dr. Cindy Dennington our sponsor, for your support for these last 6 years. And we look forward to the upcoming Crosswinds Classic Adult Tournament being held at DSGP this August.

The Podiatry Associates family would like to say Congrats on the new job opportunity for Keith Tiemeyer and wish him and his family good luck in their move to the University of Wisconsin. Below is an article that was copied from the UW website.

Tiemeyer joins UW soccer staff.

Madison, Wisconsin.

Wisconsin men's soccer head coach Todd Yeagley completed the first addition to his new coaching staff Wednesday, announcing the hiring of Keith Tiemeyer as an assistant for the Badgers program. Tiemeyer comes to Madison following a two year stint as head coach at Regis University, his alma mater. In two season, Tiemeyer guided Regis, an NCAA Division II institution in Denver, Colorado to a 19-15-3 record. " I feel fortunate to have brought in a coach with the experience and abilities that coach Tiemeyer will bring to our soccer program, " Yeagley said. " Keith is a fantastic coach and a wonderful individual, and I look forward to working with him as we strive for championships at the University of Wisconsin". After graduating from Regis with a bachelor's degree in business administration and finance in 1991, Tiemeyer became involved in the Colorado State Youth Soccer Association and eventually served as a coach and evaluator for the state's Olympic Development Program from 1998 to 2002. Tiemeyer also served as an assistant coach at the University of Denver before joining the Regis staff as an assistant in 2006. He then took over as head coach in 2007 and guided the Rangers to an 11-7-1 record to match the best mark in school history. That included a 9-4-1 record in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. His 2008 squad went 8-8-2 overall, including a 7-5-2 mark in league play. " The biggest draw for me was the opportunity to work with coach Yeagley, " said Tiemeyer, who has previously worked with Yeagley as a counselor at Indiana University soccer camps. " I have known Todd for 15 years, and his experience as a player and coach are second to none." I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with someone who has the energy that Todd brings to a program." The move to the UW also is a return to the Division I ranks for Tiemeyer, who assisted at Denver from 1994 to 1999 and saw the Pioneers compile a 53-47-8 record over that span as the program made the transition to the NCAA's top level. " UW is an unbelievable school when you look at it's academic profile, " Tiemeyer said. " Add in the fact that it puts me back in Division I, and in a premier conference like the Big Ten, and the job presents a terrific opportunity for me. " National Championships have and can be won at Wisconsin, and that's something that Todd and I are excited to continue to push toward."

Pictures from Korea... US Women's National Team (#1 FIFA Ranked)

2008-07-03T15:08:00.005-06:00

I hope everyone's summer is off to a good start. I just returned from a business trip to Seoul. Little did I know I would travel half way around the world to watch the US Women's National team play. They were there to play in the 2008 Peace Queen Cup which I discovered reading the local paper.

Not only was I able to watch USA defeat Australia and then USA defeat Caanada in the final.... but the ladies were also staying at the same hotel! I shared the eleveator with them several times and then they were in the hotel gym working out at the same time as me. These women are amazing athletes and first class representatives of our country as well.

The USA will be playing Brazil at Dick's on Sunday July 13th!!!! They defeated Brazil in Korea ... come out and see our USA Women, #1 in the world, here in Denver.

I wanted to take a moment and say thanks to our sponsor Dr. Cynthia Oberholtzer and all of the other doctors and support folks at Podiatry Associates for their support and care over these last two years. Dr. O., loves our team and has asked me to thank you all for supporting their practice. She has agreed to renew our sponsorship agreement for 2007! Thanks again Doc.

They treat any problem from the knee down, many of you know she repaired some badly torn tendons in my ankle, if it wasn't for her I probably wouldn't still be playing. Also, their Physical Therapy department can help you recover from any injury, head to toe, Amy Hill is the head of their PT area and has helped me with other nagging injuries, she also does sports massage. Thanks Amy.

To reach Dr. Oberholtzer or any of the excellent staff at Podiatry Associates please call: (303) 805-5156.
