Dear Diary,

A deserved break after a hectic November. Although the location was similar as previous year. Me & my colleagues had fun across the border. Adding an additional destination to our trip was a plan that went well. A day in Malacca & the rest was in Kuala Lumpur (MKL for short). More sight seeing than before.

Remind me to go to other parts of the world next year...

Although i was not a fan of G.I. Joe back when i was a kid, i still remember the cartoons. So when i heard that the movie was in production. I knew i just had to see it.

Disappointment, not really. I have to say the action sequence was a bit out of this world but it was fantastic.

The sequel felt so much better then the first. They had more robots, more robots fighting scene and well more of everything. It was packed with action from the beginning and well i just love it. I don't mind watching it again...

Junk. That's what most people will have said. I beg to differ. This classic fire truck is a masterpiece. Though this is stored somewhere, you can find other vintage fire truck at the Civil Defence Heritage Musuem, located at Central Fire Station.

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li

It seems nowadays movies adapted from the comics or games are on the rise. The latest one i manage to catch at the movies is Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li. The plot is quite simple, their signature moves are seen in the movie, and it actually look quite realistic. And just like X-Men, you definitely won't see the characters in the costumes you see in games.

We were at Toa Payoh Hub this morning to give our support to one of our colleague in a competition. Siva, joined a Bodybuilding competition held by Home Team NS in conjunction with the Strongman Challenge 2009. Though he did not clinched it's top prize, he manage to walk away with a 2nd runner up placing. Congratulations Siva.

It's the time of the year where i could upgrade my mobile. It was a change to my usual brand, Nokia. HTC Touch 3G, was my choice. Reason was its organizing functions, and sleek design. Affordable as well. Disappointingly it only comes in 1 colour, the brown really looks nice.

Halal Music in Hip-Hop

Rapper Lupe Fiasco latest album title "Food and Liquor" points out that it relates to the concept of Halal, or what is permissible in Islam. He makes it clear, however, that his intention is not to be the "poster boy" of Islam, but to express through music how being Muslim added depth and meaning to his life. For him, the music was first influenced by his own memories of growing up in a Muslim family. Later as an adult, the music was further influenced by Hip-Hop culture.

Lupe Fiasco's video for "Muhammad Walks" was a response to Kanye West's hit single "Jesus Walks," a song that became more controversial when West appeared on a cover of Rolling Stone wearing a crown of thorns. In comparison, check out Fiasco's video below.

Getting back to school made me realize my language is bad. Today we covered a little on Grammar and i must say, most of the students had forgotten what we were taught back in Primary & Secondary. Thankfully i was not the only one who has the same problem.

Overall, i kind of like the stress free environment at school, minus the assignment & deadlines. Obviously i can't escape that, could i?

Never did i imagine myself heading back to school to continue my studies and now i'm doing it. Pursuing a diploma to upgrade myself, i'm hoping my mindset can switch to study mode. Today marks the first day of school, and if everything goes well, by year end i've graduated.

Hopefully juggling work & school is easy...
