butter LONDON Poole - Swatches and Review (with Comparisons and Wear Test!)

Happy Saturday! This morning I have butter LONDON Poole to show you. It's one of the newer shades from their Summer Holiday 2013 Collection.

Poole is a tiffany blue creme polish with a touch of green in the base (making it eerily similar to Chanel Nouvelle Vague, if you're familiar with that discontinued and spendy hard-to-find polish. Comparisons at the end of the post! The formula and application on this one was great and I had no issues. It's semi-self-leveling, just don't over-manipulate the 2nd coat and you won't have any issues at all. I used 2 coats and no top coat for the photos. In fact, I never actually got around to applying a top coat and when I show you what I put my nails through and how they came out of it in a bit, you're gonna faint.

Elevation Polish Mount Feathertop
with Daisen and Daisen Jelly Sandwich

Mount Feathertop is described by the maker as follows:

Color: Mount Feathertop

Description: Light pink sheer build-able color. 1 coat for subtle glowing natural looking nails, 2 coats medium sheer pink, 3 coats for a pretty pink color (slight visible nail line), 4 for full coverage. Great for Jelly/glitter sandwiches.

Finish: Sheer/Jelly

Inspiration: Part of "Australian Sunrise & Sunset Collection"

The description is accurate. I was totally prepared not to like this one because it's sheer and it's pink, however, I was quite surprised to find that it didn't really read pink on me it turned out to be my perfect "mannequin hands" polish. Because of how pale I am - it reads as a neutral/nude on me in most lighting!!! The application and formula were both perfect, so I didn't mind the number of coats. I used three coats first and then I layered on 1 coat of Daisen and then one more coat of Mount Feathertop to make the "jelly sandwich." You could layer one more coat on top for a more muted "sandwich." No top coat for any of the photos. Adding Daisen does really bring out the pink more.

Chanel Azure 657 - Swatches and Review

Good afternoon! Right now I have one of the newer Chanel releases to show you - 657 Azure (not to be confused with 465 Azur).

Chanel 657 Azure

Azure 657 is part of their L'été Papillon De Chanel Summer 2013 Collection and is described by Chanel as a “metallic blue green” and that's a pretty good description. It's a DUOCHROME! It shifts from a paler, green-leaning teal to a deep but bright blue. Application and formula were good on this one. It's self-leveling and actually almost completely streak-free. I used two easy coats for full opacity and no top coat for the photos.

I have another great polish to show you from 6 Harts today! It's called Spring Rain and it's stunning.

Here's what 6 Harts had to say about Spring Rain: Spring Rain is made from a 3-Free nail polish suspension base and has a green-blue/violet duochrome pigment in it. This is a grey/taupe shimmer polish that is subtle, gorgeous and Oh, so perfect for work. The green shimmer is the more prominent of the two.

I used 2 coats of this one and the formula and application were great. No issues to report at all!

Illamasqua Seance - Swatches and Review

Tonight, as promised, I have Illamasqua Seance to show you. This one is from their new Paranormal Collection. I also have Geist, which is the UV top coat, but since this one already glows under black light, we will get to that another time.

Seance is a bright violet polish that is so gorgeous on its own I'll just let you see the photos in a minute. Application was a DREAM. Seriously, perfect, easy, self-leveling, nearly one-coat deliciousness. It has a foil-like base, which I am sure gives it the depth and interest, but I wouldn't have known this until I removed it. All the color comes off in one swipe but you have to rub a bit to get the silver foil that's left on the nail. No issues at all to report. AND it glows under black light.

I'm pretty excited to show you this new polish from 6 Harts today! It's called Sea Glass and it's stunning.

Sea Glass is described by the maker as follows: Sea Glass is made from a 3-Free nail polish suspension base and has "glass fleck" glitter and light purple pigments in it. The overall effect is almost rainbow-like, as some angles will show purple shimmer and other angles will allow the green/blue glass fleck glitter to shine. This is a very difficult polish to describe and the color changes as you move, but it is subtle and gorgeous!

Right now I have another great Windestine polish to show you - Hearts of the Forest!

Hearts of the Forest is described by the maker as follows: Hearts of the Forest represents Land in the 'Land, Sea, & Sky' collection. It consists of red hearts, brown hexagons, and green glitter in various shades, shapes, and sizes. Altogether there are 5 different glitters in this bottle!

I used one light coat and one slightly dabbed coat over Zoya Josie for the photos. No issues to report other than you may need to dab some of the larger glitters, like the hearts to get them where you want them. Overall, the polish and glitters spread nicely and lay flat on the nail. One generous coat of Poshe top coat for the photos.

Good morning! Today I have a polish from The Pretty Serious Monster Mash Collection to show you.

Mummy Mush is described by the maker as a golden glass fleck multi-chrome. And that it is! It starts out with a pink base that turns into a champagne/gold foil. This polish can be worn alone or layered. I've seen it alone a LOT so I'm going to be showing it to you layered over black. I've also layered it over a few other colors to show its versatility. No issues at all with formula or application.

Layla Gel Effect No. 05 Coral Red

Tonight I have one of the Layla Gel Effect polishes to show you - 05 Coral Red.

Their Gel Effect line is meant to provide similar results to a gel manicure without the UV lamp. Which means it should stay shiny and "chipless" for quite some time. Because generally I change polish daily I had to make a concerted effort to wear test this one but thankfully it is pretty and bright, so I was able to resist the urge to change my manicure for 4 whole days! And truthfully, it could have gone longer. I only had slight tip wear and no chips at all after 4 days. Pretty sure it would have made it to at least 7 days if I could have. Also, I have slight ridges and it filled them without a base coat. (I rarely wear a base coat, which is probably a big no-no.)

The application and formula were both great and I had no issues at all. I did wrap the tips and use one coat of Poshe since I knew I'd be wearing it for more than a day. It went on like a crelly but was opaque in two coats. The bright coral-leaning red color really pops.

Removal was the same as any regular nail polish.

WellNails Blue French Horn

How about another WellNails polish today? WellNails (an Indie Polish from Denmark and the sister brand to Foxy Paws that I reviewed previously) - Blue French Horn! As you may know, this entire line is inspired by How I Met Your Mother.

I laughed so hard when I read the description from WellNails:

"Son, a piece of advice: Never use the words 'Smurf P*nis' on a first date."

This blue baby has been given two names, because I realize that my original naming of it might offend some people. Whether you want to call it 'Blue French Horn' or 'Sort of looks like a Smurf P*nis', it will get your mind around the very first episode of How I Met Your Mother.

In the episode Ted has his first date with Robin, and they go out to dinner at a restaurant that has a blue french horn hanging on the wall for decoration.

When Robin comments on it, Ted says: "Yeah, it sort of looks like a Smurf p*nis..." which, Older Ted explains to his children years later, girls ordinarily don't tend to like.

But Robin is no ordinary girl...

This blue has been a long time coming thing, that's been playing in my head for ages. So I'm proud to announce: A royal blue jelly with lots of blue, holographic glitter.

Tonight I have another Ozotic polish for you - this time it's one from the 700 series of duochromes. Ozotic 746.

Ozotic 746 is a bright barbie pink polish with a strong blue shimmer/shift and it can be worn alone or layered. First, I used 3 light coats alone on my thumb to show you how it looks on it's own. Then, for my full mani, I wore it layered over black. No issues to report with formula or application.

I had a difficult time capturing the true color because it's really bright! The natural lighting photos are the most color accurate.

Will You Berry Me is a pink plum berry creme and it's just lovely. The application and formula were fantastic and I had no issues at all. I've used two coats and no top coat for the photo - yes, it's THAT shiny! I did apply a top coat later though.

Tonight I have another pretty polish from Ruby White Tips to show you: Capricorn.

Capricorn is a multi-chrome foil fleck polish that shifts from blue to purple to pink. The formula was good and I didn't have any issues with it or with application. I used two coats and no top coat for the photos. All but one are in indirect natural lighting - the one in artificial lighting is obvious, but I've pointed it out in the captions anyway.

Happy Saturday! Today's Copy-Caturday mani is taken from Nails by Kayla Shevonne - if you don't follow her, you should - she has awesome nail art!

My nail art today isn't an exact copy because my attempts at nail art usually don't work out like I hoped when they started out. And this one is no exception. But it's really not bad for me. It sort of looks like black and white toile!

Here's the perfect mani I attempted to copy. Kayla Shevonne's Framed Floral. (I didn't have the same stamping plate and my freehand border isn't as perfect. My image didn't really work well so I freehanded some of the "stamped" part too.)

I used Pure Ice Black Out for the black and Salon Perfect Sugar Cube for the white. I started with a base of white and used a striping brush for the border and parts of the inside part where I messed up the stamping.

Tonight I have the 3rd new Darling Diva holographic, color-shifting top coat to show you: Polish Junkie! Click the links to see Seduction and Cray Cray that I posted already.

Polish Junkie is described by the maker as follows: This is a clear topcoat that produces a linear holo. Added to the craziness is color shifting pigment that shifts from turquoisey green to blue. My holo topcoat is different from the rest because I use 5 different holographic mediums.

I used one coat of Polish Junkie over a plain black creme, although this can be layered over almost any color. I thought the black showed it off best for the purposes of deciding whether to purchase. No issues at all to report. Formula was great.

Zoya Irresistible is a collection of 6 perfect-for-summer foil-metallic shades.

All of these have the same formula. With the first coat, you're just sure that 2 coats won't cut it, but the 2nd coat is magic. Perfectly opaque in 2 coats. All of the photos are taken with 2 coats of color and no top coat. At the end I have a photo of what a few of them look like matted.
