Seattle Mariners closer Brandon League couldn’t have asked for a better start to his 2011 MLB regular season as he went 9-for-9 in save opportunities with a 2.08 ERA. A 100% save conversion rate is pretty darn good.

Then League had a horrendous week and his manager Eric Wedge had to come out and defend League saying he’s still the Mariners closer before the start of the Mariners-Indians game that would later be postponed due to heavy rain. League’s the closer for now, anyway.

Joe Mauer Not Sure When He Will Return

The Minnesota Twins currently sit in last place in the AL Central and need all the help they can get to help claw their way back to the top. Yes, Francisco Liriano threw a no-hitter but he can’t do that every game all year. At some point the Twins’ bats are going to have to come up with a win.

Unfortunately their best hitter and best player, all-star catcher Joe Mauer, has been on the disabled list since April 14 and he’s unsure of when he’ll be returning to the Minnesota line-up.

It’s safe to say that the Milton Bradley era in Seattle is over. At first it seemed like he was given a bit of a reprieve as the Mariners had decided to designate Ryan Langerhans instead on Monday morning when they called up Mike Wilson.

But later on in the day the Mariners decided that they had had enough with Bradley’s attitude and diminishing skill set as he’s become a designated hitter who can’t really hit while being paid $12 million. In this case two wrongs do not make a right and the Mariners took the first step to cut ties with the hotheaded Milton Bradley.

The Philadelphia Phillies traded for Roy Halladay with the hope that he would one day help them win another World Series title. While that day hasn’t come yet, it isn’t for a lack of trying.

Especially when it comes to other teams in the NL East. Roy Halladay has just been dominating the rest of the NL East since he became a member of the Phillies. It probably doesn’t come as a surprise to you that Halladay has been good in the NL but it might shock you to find out just how good he’s been.

Neftali Feliz To Return To Rangers Bullpen Friday

Neftali Feliz is as dominant as any relief pitcher in baseball and the Texas Rangers can sure use his arm in their bullpen right now. Luckily for the Rangers, Feliz is expected to return to the bullpen after being placed on the disabled list with right rotator cuff inflammation on April 23.

After making a relief appearance in the minors for the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders as part of a rehab assignment, Feliz said he should be back pitching in the majors on Friday.
