Outdoor Adventures: Windsurfing Getaway near Rockledge

The best feature about living in Rockledge is the proximity to the beach. Just minutes from the sand and surf of the Atlantic Ocean, the beach serves as the playground for all residents throughout Brevard County. Talk about one huge recreational park. One activity popular around the area is windsurfing.

Windsurfing in Brevard County

Windsurfing is a popular sport and past time in the area with plenty of local companies specializing in lessons, excursions and open classes into other water sports. Windsurfing, of course, is just one of many. The Calema Windsurfing & Watersports Company wants to take residents on a windsurfing adventure with time to make it back to work on Monday.

The Windsurfing Two-Day Clinic will take residents — both beginners to performance level — across the scenic routes of the Atlantic with nothing but the surf and weather to take you to your destinations. Equipment is made available to all who attend, and if you prefer to stay and play, additional rentals can be made available. All you need to bring is your bathing suit, sunscreen and towel; the rest is provided.

Dinosaurs Rule Melbourne: Brevard Dinosaur Exhibit

Florida is a lush, sandy white environment with some of the best beaches along the Atlantic Ocean. However, 65 million years ago, it probably looked different from what we’re used to. Travel back in time when dinosaurs ruled the Earth, and learn about the various species that lived and one still living today. Visit the Brevard County Zoo for Dinosaurs at the Brevard Zoo.

Get up close to some of the biggest creatures that lived, breathed and inherited the Earth in the Brevard Dinosaur Exhibit. On display will be 16 of the most fierce and ferocious creatures all displayed in the habitats in which they lived. Visitors will marvel at the movements, sounds and lively looks of the dinosaurs. From the biggest of them all to the smallest herbivores, all will come to life for a limited time only.

As you meander through the zoo, be sure to keep tabs and discover the living dinosaur still alive. It’s a historic and exploratory adventure through another world at the Brevard Zoo, just minutes from your luxury apartment at Polo Glen in Rockledge.

Florida Key Lime Festival in Cocoa Beach

The Key Lime, a celebrated citrus grown in Florida, tops the gourmet menus in many local restaurants. Key Limes are essentially infused into every culinary dish to drinks, and while diners can sample the citrus flavor, they also celebrate the small citrus with the Florida Key Lime Pie Festival in Cocoa Beach at the International Palms Resort.

New Year’s will be here before you know it. While it is still two weeks away, there is plenty of time to prepare for the Cocoa Beach Pier’s 20th Annual ‘Rockin’ The Dock’ New Year’s Eve Party. As the biggest celebration in Cocoa Beach, it is mandatory that residents throughout the coast attend this spectacular event.

Each year, the Cocoa Beach Pier and local restaurants featured a New Year extravaganza worthy of any celebration.
