      <title>Finding Unique Ways to Stay Motivated</title>

Seriously... what can I possibly do to stay committed to my health and fitness? I KNOW the health benefits of eating well and working out but honestly, sometimes life gets hard and it can get in the way. You know? I think people can easily assume that I'm a fitness nut, always working out and eating good, blah, blah, blah. And the truth is I'd rather sleep than workout. Okay, I outed myself. I'm not a workout-a-holic. I know I feel better when I workout, in fact I see and feel different when I workout regularly. I don't have PMS symptoms, no cramps, no food cravings (serious, ladies!), my clothes fit better, and I feel more energized. And still with all of this knowledge gained from experience, I still struggle to do what I know is good for me.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: #000080;"&gt;I committed to doing a 21-day cleanse last month and had AWESOME results in 5 days. On the fifth day life threw a curveball at my son who was taken to the ER and subsequently had a week-long mini-vacation in the hospital (ha). I stopped my cleanse. It was too difficult given all that was going on. I was bummed and yet at the same time I knew I was doing what needed to be done.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: #000080;"&gt;Since then, however, it's been difficult for me to get back on track. Reintegrating all of the new things into life, life changes all around from home to work, and I found that I had no energy to do anything else. But then an unexpected inspiration appeared... Xterra Freedom Fest.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: #000080;"&gt;I was not in shape to do this race but I committed to my friend to do it because I knew I needed to do something different to get a different result. I needed a serious kick to get me going. I have never done trail running. And I really don't like running in general but I needed SOMETHING. I signed up for the race two weeks before and then panicked. Lol&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: #000080;"&gt;The run was today. It was beautiful. It was an overcast day and somewhat windy but it was perfect!  I've never been in Kualoa Valley and it was neat to see remnants of Jurassic Park there. So I made an intentional effort to remember my thoughts as I went through the race at each mile mark. Here it is:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: #000080;"&gt;1 - OMG!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: #000080;"&gt;2 - F*@%!!!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: #000080;"&gt;3 - Eye roll&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: #000080;"&gt;4 - Sheesh&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: #000080;"&gt;5 - WIND!!! (it was worse than the Pali on a windy day!)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: #000080;"&gt;5.5 - Am I really almost done? I'd better slow down, don't want to finish yet.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: #000080;"&gt;6 - FREAKING A!!! Woohooo!!!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: #000080;"&gt;My friend and I finished at 1:30:45. This is really good considering we weren't training for the race and it's something to build on.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: #000080;"&gt;What is my new way of staying motivated? Sign up for a race every quarter. Whether it's a fun race or something like this... I am hopeful that it will give me an extra push to stay the course.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;/p&gt;Day 4 and I'm pooped! I couldn't get out of bed this morning. My body felt incredibly heavy and it wanted to stay in bed at 6:30 am. So I closed my eyes for a little while and I woke up at 9 am! This NEVER happens to me. Sleeping in means sleeping until 7 am in my house. So what do you call sleeping until 9 am? Crazy!&lt;p&gt;I was forewarned about the extreme exhaustion that could come with day 3 &amp; 4 where all you want to do is sleep. I was grateful for this early warning so I didn't stress too much about it. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The best thing I did on this day was go to the beach with my hub and no kids. I relaxed in the sun and sand then soaked in the ocean to remove toxins that are being released from my body. Nice!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I've been craving junk food for a couple of days but I've been trying to stay busy while drinking water. So far so good... But its hardest when I'm home where there are snacks everywhere.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I'm still clearheaded and I'm losing a little more weight. I stopped taking my acid reflux medicine and so far so good. I don't find a need for it. This is great!&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Something Funny Happened On The Way to Day 1 of Ultimate Reset Cleanse</title>

&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: #800080;"&gt;Something funny happened as I started my first day of my 21-day cleanse. My hair got wavy! Hair like I always wanted! Hahaha. Kidding. But wouldn&amp;rsquo;t that be great? A cleanse that gave you the hair you always wanted?&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: #800080;"&gt;I wanted to take a little time to document how I prepared for first day (aside from the food). &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: #800080;"&gt;1. I took my measurements (weight, body fat %, body measurements),&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: #800080;"&gt;2. I took a picture of my face because I&amp;rsquo;m wondering how my complexion will change during the process,&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: #800080;"&gt;3. I made a mental note of how loud the ringing in my ears is (this is how my wheat allergy shows up&amp;hellip; as ringing in my ears).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: #800080;"&gt;My hope is that I&amp;rsquo;ll see changes in all of the above but time will tell.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: #800080;"&gt;I started my day excited and raring to go! I drank a TON of water before noon. Drinking distilled water with Mineralize felt like something my body really needed. But after drinking 60 oz of water by noon (the amount I needed to drink all day) I was good. I drank less water in the afternoon and evening. Funny how the body knows what it wants and needs. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: #800080;"&gt;I&amp;rsquo;ll save the rest for a video post tomorrow. I&amp;rsquo;ll say that right now at 8:15 pm I&amp;rsquo;m feeling pretty beat. It&amp;rsquo;s been a rough week at work (physically and emotionally) and I&amp;rsquo;m zonked. We&amp;rsquo;ll see how I feel in the morning!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;/p&gt;Tomorrow is the start of my 21-day cleanse. I'm getting my meals organized so I'm ready for the week. It's a little overwhelming because I'm adding new recipes and foods to my diet but I am really looking forward to seeing the results of the cleanse. &lt;p&gt;This will be my very first cleanse ever... I can't imagine all of the junk that's been stuck inside of me for all of my 22 years (hahaha!). I'm looking forward to letting it all go!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;/p&gt;1:15 is our time to beat! Good thing we did this. This is what we learned:&lt;p&gt;1) Watch out for man-o-war&lt;br /&gt;2) Have small goals to shoot for in the water &amp; on land&lt;br /&gt;3) A game of tag is a great motivator&lt;br /&gt;4) Jogging with sandy feet doesn't feel good&lt;br /&gt;5) Clothes rubbing on wet skin over time = rash&lt;br /&gt;6) Having Energy &amp; Endurance drink before the race worked&lt;/p&gt;
