New hangtags on my cupcake soaps!

I’ve been working on these new hangtags for my cupcake soaps for a few months, and I’m so happy with them! They’re professionally printed by 4over4, so I no longer have to print them at home, cut them out individually, handwrite the names on them… yeah, it’s saving me a good amount of time ;)

Here’s a closeup of my Plumeria cupcake soap tag:

They’re printed on 100% postconsumer waste paper with eco-friendly/vegetable-based inks, and I only use one tag per soap now, so they’re much more sustainable. What do you think?

Alt for Everyone: My first Altitude Summit

I’ve been wanting to attend an Altitude Summit ever since I discovered them a few years ago. It’s a blogging conference with classes on graphic design fundamentals, social media strategy, organization tips {yes, please!}, brand-building and much more. Unfortunately, I could never make it to Salt Lake City, San Francisco, and even New York is tough in the middle of the week. But this year, they launched their online version, Alt for Everyone, so of course I signed up! Classes start tomorrow and I’m looking forward to soaking up the collective knowledge of some of my favorite bloggers and getting pumped with creative inspiration!

The glitz & glamor of The Great Gatsby

Suzi & I saw Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby over the weekend and it made me want to throw a 1920′s party all over again.

Okay, mine was nowhere near as glitzy or glamorous as a Gatsby party, but I did have the perfect dress!

Oh, and I wouldn’t have minded Leo as a leading man, either…

I love Lana Del Ray, too. Her ”Young & Beautiful” — which serves as Jay & Daisy’s theme song — gave me goosebumps. Did you see the new Gatsby? What did you think? It’s not my favorite Luhrmann film, but I loved it nonetheless. I think I’ll convince Stan to see it with me this weekend. ♥

Friday Faves: Great Gatsby-inspired looks from ModCloth

If you’ve been reading me for a year, you’ll know I love the 1920′s era. Not only did I host a nifty 1920′s murder mystery party for my birthday last year, I re-wore my dress for a Great Gatsby-themed party I attended at the BazaarVoice Summit this year. Naturally, I am very, very excited about Baz Luhrmann’s remake of The Great Gatsby. He’s a genius filmmaker ~ I can’t wait to see it! To hold myself over, I’ve been fawning over ModCloth’s collection of flapper-inspired dresses and jewelry. Here are some of my faves:

This simpler Black & Gold look was inspired by the ornate black and gold background used in the movie promo posters of the Great Gatsby remake. It features the Esteemed Soloist Dress, Bow’n Places Heel in White {how adorable are these??}, Good as Nouveau Bracelet, and the Drops of Enchantment Earrings.

If you like a little more color in your flapperware, go with the pink Fete Noticed Dress or the minty East Robin’s Egg Dress. Pair them with the classy Best of Time Heels in Noir and the Joy and Merri-mint flats. I also love the Feather Your Cap Headband and Verdant It Be Lovely? Earrings.
