Speaking of online backup, I started to do my homework and landed on something called the top cloud storage. First of all, what on earth is cloud storage? I started writing on my online journal almost four years ago. It has helped be hone my writing skills and at the same time allowed me to channel my feelings and take about things that are happening around me. In those four years, I have written so many things and posted so many pictures and I am curious if I have to do something to protect my files such as having best online backup. I do not have interest in purchasing expensive external memories and I also lack the space in my room to safe keep it. Having the best online backup is like having a virtual wallet that you could put in and take out cash. It is much safer if you have your valued stuff placed in a safe place in which you have an access 24/7.
There is quite a number of service providers that offer online backup and the question is how reliable is their service? The wedding gift

Apart from the ensemble, we are also in the look for the best wedding gift. We agreed to chip in so we could grab something useful for the couple. We have thought of buying corner pergolas but then again the statement in their invite says that they prefer to receive cash as they will be leaving for abroad next year. Anyhow, we are fine handing them down our cash gift.

We decided to be in full battle gear for our colleague’s wedding. Since we gave in to their request to be in vintage attire we might as well give it our all. From dress, shoes, head dress, to gloves and accessories, we should be in complete ensemble.
Our boys agreed to wear bow tie, vests or suspenders and hats. We also have talked them into sporting cheap cigars to complete the package. We are all so excited.

Living your dreams

I have so many dreams in my life. Some are achievable and some are really meant to be just dreams.
I always admire those people who are not afraid to take risks just to make their dreams come true. Most of the people I know have succeeded and I am truly happy for them. At this moment of my life, I have handful of dreams that I think, if given with the right opportunity, I could make them come true. I do not want to live a life full of regrets and what ifs. I know that I am not getting any younger and one day, I am afraid that it would be too late for me to try on new things in life.
Right now, I would like to travel. I have a bucket list of place I want to land in and as of the moment, I am turning the pages of my list. I am trying to go to the place and try things that my time and budget would allow me to. Although I am not ready to jump into the opportunity that gets my way, I know that I will to my dreams one way or another.

Oh well, the search is not over yet for the best outfit for our colleague’s wedding. The preparation gets hyped up as big day draws near. We want the day to be extra special for the couple that is why we are really prepping to be in our best selves then.
I have particular peg in mind. I do not want to be all glammed up. I just want to be dainty. I want to fit in the occasion yet I want to enjoy the day and just be merry. My other colleagues is on duty tonight and they plan to go on bargain hunting again after their shift. Since I just woke up as I came from the night duty, I am planning to be up all night searching online for fab finds.

I have been a Glee fan ever since its pilot episode and I should say that and has not failed to deliver.
Their first episode for the year has really gotten me shaken to the core as it covered the much awaited Will’s proposal to Emma. I thought that the writer has given the episode a justice. I actually had the LSS (Last Song Syndrome) of Rihanna’s We found love. The scene was mesmerizing and everyone flashed happy faces.

The perfect wedding gift

I and my co-workers are discussing what we should give our co-staff nurse as a gift for his wedding day. We have agreed on a certain budget but since they do not have wedding registry and we are too shy to ask what they would want for their big day, we are seriously having headaches thinking of a very useful gift that they would cherish. Gifts under $100 are the ones that we are considering. We hope that we could chose one before the big day.

I have known Crestor even before I started to practice my profession as a cardiac nurse. I have popped the pill for over a year in an attempt to lower my cholesterol level. I had leg and total body cramps that really crippled me for a few moments. I remember dropping my toothbrush as my hand got stiff while doing my oral care. My colleague’s wedding is on February 4th. We are really excited because it will also be a reunion for our ward as some were already channelled out to special areas. We are also excited prepping for the wedding as they have the theme of 50s vintage. They request their gusts to be in their best 50s inspired get up.
We went to Bambang Market in Manila which is considered as the mecca of bargain hunting for used clothing more know as the ukay-ukay. I played as the stylist to my colleagues and I was able to get them the clothes for the said occasion. I am particularly inspired by the theme that I enjoyed the shopping experience. I will be posting some pictures of the stuff we scored soon.

A taste of Thai

We have met with our vacationing friend from Australia. On my way to our meeting place in Megamall, he texted me to think where we would get our tummies filled. Since he is already there, I asked him to look for Thai resto.
Being a lazy guy, he just waited for me and we began our resto hunting spree. It did not take us long to find a Thai resto. At first, my friend was hesitant to come in as he regarded the rather small place as a fastfood and he was looking for a gourmet-like stuff. I talked him into looking at the menu and after a few minutes of thinking through, we finally decided to sit in.

The place is called Jatujak. I first ordered the Thai milk tea, my number one on the list! The glass was tall and it was heavenly. We ordered for a large bowl of seafood Tom yum which was served in a pot on a little fire. It was spicy in a good way. Sipping even a teaspoon could surely cure any naso-pharyngeal problems. All the clogs in your airway would surely be melted away. The large pot was enough for voracious appetite of four. The pomelo shrimp salad was also a hit. IT was my first time actually to try it and I was pleased.
Although there were foods that we actually enjoy, the bagoong rice did not blow me away. Also, the green curry was too spicy for me.

Overall, we went out with smile on our face. The dining experience was good and the tab did not drain our pockets. I will be surely going back there for the Tom Yum and Thai milk tea.

Shifting gear

It is not too late for anyone who wants to change career or just to try new things in life. Eight years ago, I decided to get a second course in the hope of getting greener pasture. Although my income has been cut into half since I started practicing my new profession, I could say that I have found a new love. For me sometimes, it is not about the money.

Mission Possible

You read it right. Tom Cruise and the rest of the pack did not fail to deliver in the latest franchise of Mission Impossible called the Ghost Protocol. After almost six years or so, Cruises’ team’s creative juices were squeezed upto the last sap. I was sitting on the edge of my seat from the minute the movie has started upto the time the closing credits were rolled.
The plot was the usual MI storyline, conspiracy blah blah but there were no scenes that would make you want to blink. Every fight scene, every execution of their overboard spy plans are jaw dropping and heart pumping. What made the stunts really jumpy is knowing that Tom Cruise really did them himself sans the double. The whole movie was made interesting and light by the comic relief pulled off by Simon Pegg, an English actor comedian who gave justice to his role. His exchanges of funny line with Jeremy Renner gave everyone side stitches.
Two thumbs up to MI4. Tom Cruise will surely be having a hard time surpassing this latest mileage in his career

Planning way ahead

It is almost New Year and as the year changes, another year will be added to our age. Reality check, we are not getting any younger. As we do our daily tasks, it is important that we give importance to our future. It is appropriate to focus on our health, life and death. My friend has been talking me into getting insured. She wants me to buy term life insurance like her while I am still young. Saving up for your future is not really bad because you will be the one who will benefit from it.

I have been hearing a lot of buzz about Happy Lemon (at least in my ward). I have been living under the rock that I have lost update on the latest hotspots in this side of the planet. Before our duty ended, my best bud in the ward and I were having a debate who will be going with who. You see, I have been craving to sink my teeth in our of the cakes at Cakes2Go while she holds her ground to get her special drink fix at Happy Lemon.
Sadly (or not), she won with the bribe that my first drink would be on her! On we went to Trinoma for the latest craze in town. I was really appalled to see that we could not immediately chug down a drink as we had to wait in line.
My buddy had her rock salt and cheese cocoa and I, being a fan of milk tea, had my milk tea pudding. I am not a fan of tapioca or pudding blended in my milk tea but I did not have the energy to ask if I could skip the pudding and pearl part. I tried my first sip and I can say that I still swear by Tokyo Cafe’s milk tea. Admittedly, my curiosity was awakened by my friend’s drink. It was something that I am sure Happy Lemon has gotten its claim to fame.
Okay so I still have my loyalty check in place then. Hands down to Happy Lemon’s very own Rock Salt and Cheese concoction and Tokyo Cafe’s and Toast Box’s milk teas are still to die for.

One good fight

It was a momentous event not just for the Philippine Azkals but the Filipinos as well. It is the first time that one of the best soccer/football teams in North America paid us a visit for the Dream Cup. Everyone knew that we would not stand a chance but what the heck! It’s David Beckham they are facing against, let alone LA Galaxy.
Beckham scored a goal after 20 minutes. You could actually hear the cheers, shrieks and every imaginable verbal and non-verbal expression a girl could make every time Beckham takes the free kick. When his play time was over, everyone got up on their feet to show respect to him.
Crowd went wild(er) when he took off his jersey and handed it off to Manny Pacquiao.
The Azkals actually did not go home empty handed. Phil Younghusband scored a goal.
The game was over and LA Galaxy scored a total of 6 goals, Azkals remained with one goal. Nonetheless, the event was a great one and everyone was smiling except maybe for the Azkals coach who uttered his disappointment with his guys’ game.

Pure fun

The dancing lights at the Ayala Triangle did not disappoint at all! I thought it would be a bore as we walked towards the Ayala Triangle. There were so many people that side of Makati Central Business District one would think it is not holiday today. I felt pity for the night joggers that they had to squeeze their way through a sea of passersby and spectators.
We waited for about 10 minutes and at the strike of 7:00 p.m. the amusement begins. The seemed to be pieces of white cloths hanging on the trees and on low lying poles literally blossomed before our eyes. Lights danced in synchrony to the Christmas tunes being played. The show lasted for about 10 minutes and the crowd’s oooohs and aaaaahs also lasted that long. The joy in every child’s face was priceless. My nieces actually were giggling and screaming for joy.
The show starts at 6:00 p.m.and final show is at 9:00 p.m. for the whole month of December. Oh and it is free!

What I love about the cold season (we do not have winter in the Philippines) is that I could get to play around mixing and matching my clothes. I have tons of unused clothes since I started to practice my profession as a nurse. I am excited to get out and go somewhere else when I am off duty even if I will still go to the hospital because I can get to dress up and be dolled up. I also love to accessorize to compliment my getup but I make sure that I do not over do things. I love collecting and wearing cocktail rings, hoop earrings and shamballa bracelets as I feel liberated when I had them on. I call it, the other side of me.

I have promised myself not to deal with any serious spending until I get promoted next year. I have already stretched out my budget for the year and admittedly went way beyond it. So when the luring wave of getting an updated BlackBerry phone catches my attention, I just close my eyes and take deep breaths. My old BlackBerry although it does not have a WiFi feature still serves me well. I recently got the inspiration to tinker with it and found out that it has GPS function. I stayed up until wee hours of the morning checking and testing each application installed in it and next thing I know, I am now a gps golf guru. I am just pleased with myself.

Life gets busier and busier as time goes by. We hardly notice some things that need to be fixed in our homes and these instances lead to forsaken home fixtures and equipment. You are so busy that you do not have time to bring them to shops for repair or refurbishing. Good thing there are motor home repairs that offer services right at the comfort of your home. Your things get repaired without the hassle of getting out of your home and you can still do your take home tasks as you wait.

A fully loaded morning

More than any other shift, PM (starts from 7pm and ends at 7am) shift is the time for me and my colleagues to bond after work. We simply wanted to be fully fed before hitting the sack. We are tired of food served in the cafeteria, more so, we have tried almost every meal on Jollibee’s breakfast menu. We decided to head for Shakey’s but along the way, we passed by KFC and noticed that it is their first day of offering breakfast meal. Great!
After a few minutes of weighing out which will bust our tummies, we all ordered for Fully loaded breakfast meal. Lucky for us that since it is their very first day to offer breakfast treats, we scored the meal for only P90!
The meal is composed of a serving of garlic rice, pork tocino, chicken sausage, scrambled egg, chocolate chip pancake and a glass of cold drink of your choice.
The meal was satisfying and we actually find it too cheap. We wondered what will be its regular price.

Do couples have to share e-mail passwords?

Recently, my colleague and I got into trouble. We chatted on Facebook and apparently, the read was saved in her private messages. We were gushing about the guys in our hospital whom we have crushes on.
My colleague has a boyfriend who also work in our institution. I did not know that he knows her password to her Facebook account. I just received a test from her that her boyfriend opened her account and read our exchanges of girl talk.
According to her, her boyfriend was so furious about the matter and I asked her why on earth did she let him access her Facebook account. I told her that it is not a matter of trust but it is just a matter of personal space.
They ended up patching things up but he guy does not talk to me. As if I made the sole act of luring his girlfriend in “looking” at other guys.
For me, I do not see the good side of letting someone break into your personal space. Just because your significant other knows your password to all of his or her account, it does not mean that you cannot hide anything from him or her. There are ways.
Just sayin'.
