Hi all!

I am here today thanks to Missy who has this wonderful blog. I am so happy to be guest

blogging in it. Let me introduce myself: I live in Madrid (Spain) and I have a fashion

and beauty blog called A Violet In The Snow. It is a blog where I try to give

ideas or tricks that I think might be interesting from a personal point of view. I hope you

like the outfit I have prepared for today.

This is my way of following the jungle trend. The green jeans with zippers contrast

with the more feminine blouse. In my opinion the color of the pants match the color

and pattern of the shirt. I think that everyone should try to adapt the trend to what suits

your style and flatters you the most. That´s what I tried to do today. As for the shoes,

I decided to use this nude ones. They are so wearable. Also I have always loved the

Green-nude combination.

In the jungle there is always a fierce animal. In this case I have brought my

boxer “Rocky”. It is a good watchdog but it is also the most loving and beautiful dog in

the world!

This is an outfit I wore the day after I came back from Boston (so just this past Saturday). It was so hot out, nothing felt better than to wear my new bandeau top and and breezy tank!

I recently purchased 3 of these bandeau tops from Aerie for just under $5 each, and I'm obsessed. I love the different colors and how comfortable they are to just throw on under tanks, dresses with low backs, and tees. I plan to wear them with high-waisted skirts and blazers this summer too.

I wish I could just live in tanks and leggings! I don't know about you but it feels just as comfy as pajamas. I haven't sported a hair bow in awhile, so I figured I'd go for it! I was so excited when I noticed that the pink is the same as my new messenger bag. It's the little things :)

Tribal Shorts

Just purchased these shorts while in Boston and I can't get enough! Nothing beats comfort plus a fun print. I plan to live in them all summer and wear them with neon tanks and anything else I can find!

I wore this outfit for lounging and lunch today. It was the perfect temperature after the thunderstorms rolled through this morning. Although I love the heat, today was perfectly comfortable at 77 with a little breeze.

These flats are incredibly comfortable. They came in a cute little bag (see my instagram @popofstyle) and fold up for easy storage. I can see myself packing them for the wedding I'm going to this weekend. My feet have definitely learned their lesson after cramming into heels all of last week. These babies have built in silky socks and cushions to make your feet extremely comfortable. I'm loving the python print!

I'm not ready to go back to work after the gorgeous vacation time I've had but it will be nice to see everyone again! Hope your week is going well :)

Leopard on Leopard for Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day to everyone! Just wanted to take a second to thank those of you involved in fighting for our country. I truly appreciate everything that you do.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day and enjoying the weather! It is getting up to 94 degrees here and we're loving it! Good thing we made most of the picnic food yesterday, because today we're getting the pool ready! This morning we went to a charity pancake breakfast then visited my grandparents' tombstone at the cemetary. This is what I wore to the pancake breakfast! My undying love for leopard has no end (plus this dress is completely light and breathable!)

This afternoon when we get the pool opened we are having my dad's delicious ribs with macaroni salad, baked beans, deviled eggs, and the best red velvet cake in the world. I swear we make it for every holiday now because we just can't get enough of it- Memorial Day is a great excuse for cake, right?

A Day in Gloucester

So our last day of vacation (yesterday) was spent on a day trip in Gloucester, Massachusetts! We traveled about an hour to be able to see the coast and possibly whale watch. We also went to the Salem Witch Museum in Salem and had a great time learning so much about the history of the witch trials in 1692.

We ended up trying to do so and they told us it was too foggy! Oh well, definitely next time. I was really looking forward to that! Instead, we ended up finding a beach and collecting seashells. It was absolutely gorgeous. I would really love to go back. I can't even explain how beautiful, peaceful and calming it was there.

Afterward, we went to dinner at a little restaurant called Captain Carlos' and had some seafood. (And a shot) It was so nice getting to spend time with my mom and aunt, we spent our vacation leisurely walking around seeing the sites, shopping, and meeting fun new people. It definitely went by too fast, but it's really good to be home. I'm excited I left 60 degree weather to return to 80 degree weather- that never happens!

Hope you all are having a great Memorial Day weekend. I'm off to dinner and a movie with my guy and then a picnic and pancake breakfast the rest of the weekend to celebrate this gorgeous kickoff to the summer season!

We're having a blast here in Boston! Today I got the pleasure of meeting with some of the Marshalls team and we only thought it appropriate if we donned some of our favorite "Marshalls attire".

I'm loving the peplum trends and obviously polka dots, so I figured- why not combine both! It was a good thing too, that we went with some lightweight clothing today, because it finally heated up while we were here. Go figure that it would be our last full day on vacation!

I had a wonderful lunch with representatives from the Marshalls PR and marketing teams at John Harvard Brewery. We then toured headquarters where I was able to see what has been pulled for buyers for this upcoming fall. There are some gorgeous pieces hitting stores next season! My favorite part was seeing all of the new shoe trends come to life. What a beautiful building!

There are some exciting projects in the works with Marshalls so stay tuned!

Ladylike in Tiffany Blue

So here I am about to go spend the day in Boston! Feels good to finally be on vacation. This is right outside of our hotel room after breakfast. We're about to go catch the subway into the city to go shopping, whale watching, and have a couple drinks.

Nothing is more comfortable to me lately than a hi lo dress. Seriously, this trend is probably my favorite for summer. They're breezy, comfortable, and really easy to layer with. I chose to add this crochet top on top of this dress because the weather is so unpredictable today.

I'm also really loving bright bags. Okay, this is not new, I've been sporting a Valentina number in bright yellow for what seems like forever. I guess bright bags (especially of the messenger variety) are just my thing. So naturally, you can understand how excited I was to find this Cambridge Satchel Company look alike while shopping last week.

Hope everyone's Monday was wonderful (I'm really stretchin' it aren't I?). I had a rough start to mine to be honest, forgot my paperwork and had to run home, then turned everything in except my timesheet- really?! This would happen to me the day before I leave for vacation. Sigh.

Oh well, nothing can get me in a bad mood today! No matter how long my work day was, I know that I have a week off starting tomorrow! I will be in Boston from Tuesday until Friday. While I'm there I'm getting the chance to meet with the team at Marshalls so I'm really excited! Naturally, I'm spending my evening packing for my mini-getaway. Sundresses here I come!

Update Your Summer Look With Simple Pops of Color

Whether it's shockingly beautiful fuchsia lipstick or gorgeous fiery orange matte eyeshadow, punchy colors amidst a canvas of natural beauty is all the rage for makeup this summer.

Celebs from Rachel McAdams to Frieda Pinto are donning the trend with neutral and colorblocked outfits this season. Hop on the train! This is a fun way to experiment with color- summer's the best time to do it! The hues work well with naturally tanned skin and play well with this season's trendy colors like tangerine and lime.

Skip the eyeliner if you're going with a super-bright matte eyeshadow look, however, and make sure that you keep lips and cheeks neutral to avoid looking like you just stepped out of the 80s. Same rules apply when you're brightening up your look with lipstick. While you can add liquid liner (especially for a night out)- keep the palette neutral on the eyes and stick to a simple bronzer on the apples of your cheeks.

Cheap Thrill: Bogatte Necklaces to Update Your Style

Bogatte is quickly becoming one of my favorite shops. Recently opening, you can find so much here for so much cheaper than your typical store. I'm especially loving these new necklaces which were just added to the shop. (And how cute is this ring?!)

These statement pieces are not only affordable, but make a simple outfit chic. From the on-trend peter pan collar necklace to the etched tribal-printed crescent piece these necklaces need to get into my life ASAP.

How fun is this dress?! Reminded me of a watercolor painting. So many fun colors for summer make it easy to accessorize.

I'm especially loving these new sandals from Clarks. Honestly, they are probably the most comfortable sandals on Earth- no joke. The toe padding sinks down when you walk. Perfect. I find myself wearing them all the time at work to get that extra height while remaining just as comfy as flats.

Don't you just love that it is finally sundress weather? Lightweight dresses are definitely my go-to in warm weather. Throw on some bracelets and simple extras and you're ready to go!

I was thrilled when I received this beautiful neon statement necklace in the mail from Jen Hoodenpyle! Her unique pieces are completely original and hand-crafted to trendy, yet lasting perfection! Neon statement necklaces are the "it" accessory this summer and if you want to stand out or add some personality to your outfit, these necklaces are the way to go.

The best way to make the color stand out is to display yours over a simple black and white palette. Pink Jeans & Leopard Heels

Ahh yes, the sheer joy of finding an item that you've been searching for for what seems like forever. I've been wanting simple leopard print heels for a very long time, and just this weekend I finally found them!

Naturally, I couldn't wait to pair them with practically everything I own, but I eventually decided to sport them with my pink jeans for a dinner out with my boyfriend's family. I wanted to tie the jeans and pin together while pulling the brown in the heel with the brown leather belt.

I've been really into "preppy" type looks lately, and today was no exception!

What My Mom Wore for Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there! Sorry for the late post, but my mom and I were just having too much fun today. I have to say though, I'm exhausted!

Here are some photos from today. This morning my brother, myself, and my dad took my mom to breakfast at this little diner and we had eggs Benedict (it was amazing!). I had never had it before, but it was honestly the best thing I've ever had for breakfast.

After breakfast, mom and I took a walk for a few miles around a nature park about 30 minutes away from our house and saw some pretty cool scenery (you can check some photos of it out on my Instagram @popofstyle). After that, I took my mom to a specialty chocolatier and bought her a cookie, then we spent the afternoon shopping! (naturally)

I like to say that my dog-daughter (Henna) bought me a new bra and several bandeau tops (okay, and this dress I wore shown here, two neon belts, and an Aztec tank) for Mother's Day, but maybe that's just my excuse to shop more. Probably.

When we got home, we got ready and the family went out to our favorite steakhouse for dinner, came home, had cheesecake and gave my mom her gifts. We got her three new sundresses. She loved them!

When all is said and done we had an amazing day. It's nice to be able to show my mom how much we love her. And for those of you who don't know she is the mastermind photographer behind all of the photos here at Pop Of Style. She's been taking photography classes non-stop since I got my new camera (and does an awesome job!) and has been there for my blog every step of the way. I appreciate everything she does for me and I really enjoyed spending the day with her today!

With school over, and a couple weeks until my Boston trip, summer has finally arrived! These are all my favorite most-wanted items for the summer and I'm trying my best to get my hands on them all! (wishful thinking) So far, one down, I just ordered this gorgeous Rose Gold Michael Kors watch! I can't wait to get it. Every so often you have to treat yourself, we deserve it right?

Of course I'm loving everything colorful and bohemian for summer. My new obsession is this pink Celine handbag. Anyone have an extra couple thousand they can lend me?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to start working on my craft skills (not that I have any to start with) this summer and begin some DIY projects. Could be fun, could be disastrous. But I'm definitely going to attempt to recreate this ombre pyramid studded shorts. How cute are they?

How To Wear a Baseball Cap

I seriously can't get enough of this necklace from Saint Eve. Just my style, this gold triangle necklace seems to go with everything in my wardrobe!

This is what I wore yesterday to my last final. I wanted something comfy, but warm (it was pouring) and let's get real- I wasn't trying to do my hair. You all know I'm a huge fan of baseball caps (obviously a Yankees fan!) as you can see other ways I styled them here and here. Yes, I have an unhealthy amount of Yankees caps. I have an entire shelf dedicated to Yankees memorabilia in my room!

I'm a big fan of denim on denim as well. Sometimes, nothing is more comfy than your favorite jeans, and why not stay on trend by adding a piece of denim in a lighter hue on the top? See how else I styled denim on denim here.

Flamenco Hi-Lo Color

Obviously I'm a sucker for the hi lo trend. (See: here and here for further proof!) Colorblocking is also a huge favorite trend of mine. Can't get enough of mint and this fun pink hue lately!

I'm finally done with my finals! One more semester until I am done with graduate school! Feels good to be done with studying for awhile! (At least until my research class in July)

I can't take credit for this title- that's all my mom. She goes "What's that song about Monday by the Mamas and the Papas?" We started laughing and I go, it's "Monday, Monday". "Oh." We're ridiculous.

So this was the outfit I wore last Friday mainly because it is just so comfortable. Last time I wore it was here when I wore it over the French Connection dress. It's such a great layering piece and with how light it is, I can't wait to wear it all summer long! I can definitely see myself throwing it on over a bathing suit top or with denim cutoffs.

Last Friday was one of those days that simply merit plain 'old jeans and a comfy top. I just bought these jeans from PacSun (On sale for $9.99!-jackpot!) and have literally been living in them ever since. Seriously- if you've seen them walking around on their own recently, I'm sorry!
