Robyn is coming back, bitches

We’ve been waiting for new Robyn material since FOREVER and things finally seem to be happening!

First came last week’s behind-the-scenes vid which tantalised us with clips of new material, and now a looped clip of ridiculously brilliant new track ‘Fembots‘ has appeared on Robyn’s official site Robyn.com. Go and listen to it NOW.

Sia: We Are Born - out June 7th 2010

Sia’s previous output wasn’t exactly the kind of thing you would gleefully clap along to, but all that has changed on her 5th studio album ‘We Are Born‘, which was produced by Greg Kurstin (Kylie Minogue, Lily Allen, Ladyhawk and many many more).

The six new tracks currently streaming on YouTube showcase a largely upbeat and funky side to the Australian singer, who still retains her edginess amidst Kurstin’s big pop production.

‘Clap Your Hands’ has been picked as the first official single and will be out May 25th.

Agnes - Sometimes I Forget

Why Agnes isn’t competing at Eurovision this year is beyond us, as she makes singing in Franglais (that’s English mixed with French) sound so effortless on her new single ‘Sometimes I Forget‘.

The song, intended for the French market, comes with a brand new video and even though it’s a little cheesy, we’ve taken a liking to it as we do imagine ourselves as international superstars when we listen…

Kick-Ass

Back in 2006 Mika was the darling of the UK music industry with his Marmite-y but massively successful debut, ‘Life in Cartoon Motion’. Fast forward three years and the last two singles from his second album ‘The Boy Who Knew Too Much’ have failed to make a dent on the UK top 40.

Despite this apparent dip in fortunes Mika is still enjoying great success across Europe, where his latest offering ‘Kick Ass‘ will probably find a more appreciative audience. The song was produced by RedOne, the man behind many of Lady GaGa biggest hits.

As with most Mika songs, ‘Kick Ass’ is rousing, danceable and Queen-esque, but its repetitive nature and high-pitched vocals won’t suit everyone’s tastes.

Jason Derulo with JLS

The stakes are high for JLS to break America. Whether they will enjoy the same success Stateside as they have in the UK remains to be seen, but the celebrity endorsements they’re rapidly amassing certainly can’t harm their chances.

First was talk of a collaboration with Jason Derulo and now Rihanna has apparently confirmed that she will record a single with the boys before the end of the year. A collaboration with the Barbadian pop star would go down nicely as the group have performed her hit ‘Umbrella’ in the past. {source}

Florence & the Machine

Florence Welch has wasted no time in capitalising on her recent Brits triumph (she and her Machine walked away with the Mastercard album of the year award for ‘Lungs’); just a few short weeks after racing back into the top 5 with a Dizzee-fied version of ‘You Got The Love’ and a re-release of her 2008 single ‘Dog Days Are Over’ is already upon us.

The track originally came with a low budget video (Welch said afterwards, “[It] was so cheap…it was a video camera in a forest, with my Dad and Marks and Spencer sandwiches,”) but someone has since ponied up the cash for a rather more expensive treatment. Check out the new ‘Dog Days’ video below.

You may remember rapper Trina from such family-friendly hits as ‘Da Baddest Bitch‘ and ‘No Panties’, not to mention her 2006 collaboration with Kelly Rowland (‘Here We Go‘).

Trina’s fifth studio album ‘Amazin’‘ is set for release on May 4th 2010, and the first video from the record has now surfaced – check out ‘Million Dollar Girl‘ (ft. Diddy and Keri Hilson) above.

And just in case any of you are upset that we’ve got to the end of a post without mentioning Lady GaGa, you’ll be relieved to hear that she appears on ‘Amazin” album track, ‘Hoes Fight‘.

We won’t lie, our interest in IAMAMIWHOAMI waned some time ago, probably when we realised it was unlikely to be the work of Christina Aguilera.

It seems our hunch was right, as the latest viral video (above) appears to suggest that Swedish artist Jonna Lee is  the performer behind this unusual campaign.

Parachute - the new Cheryl Cole single. Out March 14th.

Cheryl Cole’s new single ‘Parachute’ is out on Sunday and it will feature the brand new ‘Just Let It Me Go‘ as the b-side. Give it a listen, it’s not bad at all.
