Afternoon Lovelies! 

I'm in love with jewellery & i lust on stationery. Pointed pencil graphite nibs, delightful vanilla eraser aromas, crisp sharpener shavings . . oOoh! And that's how I spotted the uber cool Me& Zena - Jewellery for the Unruly.

Clueless and broke only with a dream in her heart and a teenager in her soul, London-based designer, Zena Mckeown, started off with shouting things about unicorns, gold and love! In 2005, Mckeown created her first piece of jewellery and today she owns her own lil shop where she continues to satisfy her love of all things small, shiny and symbolic

Its the holiday season and i've been busy illustrating lil Santa characters all over M-town.
I recently completed a High-end woman's shoe store - Gossip at Mumbai's biggest mall - Infinity 2.
Was truly a joyful experience! Right from installing different textured ornaments to the gold vinyl illustrations, here's a lil something I coined for the Display window, along with the fashionable elf :

Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells
Shoes & Sandals all the way,
Oh what fun 'tis to wear
A pair of Gossip shoes everyday!

The tenth dawn of Islam's new year, Seventy-two of the bravest who had nothing to fear,
Came out to battle for our pride,
Knowing that the journey to Heaven would be their very next ride.
On the blistering sands, under the scorching sun,
Stood the mighty Hussein, a soldier second to none,
With the fragrance of musk, it had to be said,
The skies of Karbala were already turning red.
Every ally wanted the honor of being first,
To drink the honey of paradise and quench their thirst,
As each one's body fell on the sand and mud,
It was Ashura, the day the skies wept. blood.
A marriage in the tent during this grieving hour,
Abdullah knew that the time was not far,
In the attire of a groom, He set out to fight,
Realizing the loss, Sakina cried throughout that night.
Abbas did not even drink a sip from the river,
But was hit by arrows from the trees' rear,
Hussein's final support ascended to the heavens,
It was now only Hussein and those inhumane devils.
But, Ali Akbar, the very valiant youngster the world has seen,
Was hit in the heart during the pinnacle of His teens,
The face of the Prophet (SA) with blood was smeared,
Hussein's tears completely drenched His beard.
Asgar, the courageous six month old prince,
Fought for Islam's pride without hesitance,
Until that heartless satan let his arrow fly,
Young Ali Asgar's blood was taken by the sky.
Hussein ibn Ali, the Noble Son, and The Greatest Martyr,
Stood ready to fight with absolutely no fear,
Until a teary eyed Jibrael descended from the Heavens,
Allah's wish is Your sacrifice Oh Highborn Eminence.
Hussein happily welcomed Allah's Missive,
Bowed down to Sajdah for the future billions,
Zainab, cried aloud at the sight of Her mind's eye,
Upon witnessing Her imperial brother peacefully die. . .

Morning Lovelies!

Once ur done with college and are working at a big-ass firm, admit it . . there are moments when you have the stupidest of questions. Not cos you wanna annoy your boss, but simply cos there is a frickin question mark staring you in the face. But most of us being most of us - shutup. 

However, Marian Bantjes figured it all out for us. Her latest book - i Wonder, is a beautiful interplay between illustration & typography where her range of thoughts, personal history and hare-brained ideas on graphic design come together.

Bantjes strictly tells her students, which is a note to design students all over the world : "We encourage you, and we are proud as hell, but most of us can't take the questions. The honest truth is that we just don't have time to answer them, even when we want to. So please take this suggestion. Pretend we're dead. Look at our work, read our books, read the articles and interviews we've all done, and watch the videos. Make notes and then form your own opinions on whatever it is you're thinking about us. Formulate an idea about our work, annotate your sources to support your premises, collect images, give credit where credit is due, and write your report."

So the next time you wonder . . you know what to do ;)
