Lissie has just released her debut album, Catching A Tiger, so hopefully it's more of the same. I have a sneaking feeling she is way more exciting live. Especially with a bass playing drummer (or drums playing bassist?) for her shows!

French free-divers, Guillaume Nery and Julie Gautier, have put together a (literally) breathtaking video of their sport, which very artistically captures the sensations of freedom, harmony and exploration.

Camerawoman, Julie Gautier, has done an amazing job filming this shoot underwater with a Canon 5D Mark II. Hats off too to free-diver, Guillaume Nery, for a very convincing base-jump/dive! Nery completed the shoot over a number of dives using only his own breath.

All filming was shot at a popular free-diving spot in the Bahamas known as Dean's Blue Hole- the world's second deepest underwater sink hole.

I have a feeling this NYC band is dancing its way to indie stardom- thanks to their musical mastermind and energetic frontman- Francis Farewell Starlite.

Interestingly, the band have opted to register themselves as a company rather than sign a recording contract. Francis and the Lights, LLC released their second EP - A Modern Promise (which includes the song above "The Top") - with the help of a $100,000 investment from The Normative Music Company.

Enjoy the video above for a preview of Francis' dance-funk coolness. I love the simplicity of this whole shoot, especially the lighting. Francis has got some wild dance moves too. Lost in the music or choreographed brilliance? Probably both. That slow-mo, crashing lights finale is genius!

This video really makes me miss the NZ summer. Oh to be at the beach back home in beautiful Aotearoa.

The beaches in Dubai are pretty decent, but the water is already starting to feel like a warm bath- yuck. Besides the Arabian Sea waves tend to take most of the summer off round here just like the expats. Thank goodness for chilled pools at least!
