In order to experience abundance, you have to be abundant. Abundance is your true nature, and when you think, act and live according to it, you will manifest abundance.

The rich in mentality get richer while the poor in mentality get poorer. The accumulation of material wealth begins with wealth consciousness. Pursuing spiritual development before working on wealth creation is the key to attaining both inner and outer riches.

The secret of health is consciousness of health. Disease is a lack of ease psychologically and physically. Conflicting thoughts and feelings in your consciousness is what causes this state of distress.

When you notice yourself becoming sick, watch for conflicting thoughts that have arisen within your consciousness and resolve them. Either push them all one way or the other, or find a way to hold them in a harmonious way. External remedies only cure symptoms but dealing with consciousness cures at root.

The secret of secrets is the consciousness of secrets. All the truths about life are not secrets, but they are hidden from us due to our ignorance. By thinking about the discovery of truths as search for the secrets, we motivate our subconscious mind to go ON treasure hunt.

The greatest treasure in this world is wisdom, and life is to be played as a treasure hunting game. Treasures are meant to be appreciated and so when you think of truths as secrets, your appreciative mindset will draw them all to you...

The Lottery Of Life‏

Lots of people I meet complain that they don't have the luck toachieve the success and wealth that they want. "If only I wasluckier, life would be a lot easier and I would be a lot happier",they would say. Many people pray of the day they could draw thatlucky ticket and win that million dollar lottery that would changetheir life.

What many people do not realize is that the fact that they arecomfortably reading this email means that they have been luckyenough to be one of the few winners of the biggest lottery ofall... the lottery of life! They were lucky enough to draw the 'right ticket' and be born where they are.

Imagine that 24 hours before you were born, God gave you a bowl of100 tickets. You had to draw one ticket that would determine yoursex, country of birth, wealth, intelligence etc.. What would havebeen your chance to end up where you are now?

Let;s look at the odds. If you were to take the entire earth'spopulation and shrink it to 100 people (represented by 100tickets), with all existing human ratios the same, it would be madeup of the following:

49 would be female,
51 would be male
80 would live in substandard housing.
20 in acceptable housing.
67 would be unable to read.
33 would be literate.
1 would have a university education.
99 would not be able to attend university.
50 would be malnourished and
1 dying of starvation.
33 would be without access to a safe water supply.
16 would have access to the Internet.
17 would live in a developed country.
83 live in underdeveloped/developing countries.

If you were given the chance to turn back time and go back to 24hours before you were born, would you choose to return your currentticket and re-draw a new ticket from the 100 again? If not, thenconsider how lucky you are!

"A Better You" Your 7 days program to self-improvement

I seem to lost count on how many times I've read and heard of celebrity marriages failing almost left and right. Not that I care (and personally I don't), it seems strange that we often see movie and TV stars as flawless people, living the fairytale life of riches and glamour. I suppose we all have to stop sticking our heads in the clouds and face reality.

There are many ways to lose your sense of self-esteem despite of how trivial it could get. But whatever happens, we should all try not to lose our own sense of self.

So what does it take to be a cut above the rest? Here are some of the things you can think and improve on that should be enough for a week.

1. Know your purpose Are you wandering through life with little direction - hoping that you'll find happiness, health and prosperity? Identify your life purpose or mission statement and you will have your own unique compass that will lead you to your truth north every time.
This may seem tricky at first when you see yourself to be in a tight or even dead end. But there's always that little loophole to turn things around and you can make a big difference to yourself.

2. Know your values What do you value most? Make a list of your top 5 values. Some examples are security, freedom, family, spiritual development, learning. As you set your goals for 2005 - check your goals against your values. If the goal doesn't align with any of your top five values - you may want to reconsider it or revise it.
The number shouldn't discourage you, instead it should motivate you to do more than you can ever dreamed of.

3. Know your needs Unmet needs can keep you from living authentically. Take care of yourself. Do you have a need to be acknowledged, to be right, to be in control, to be loved? There are so many people who lived their lives without realizing their dreams and most of them end up being stressed or even depressed for that matter. List your top four needs and get them met before it's too late!

4. Know your passions You know who you are and what you truly enjoy in life. Obstacles like doubt and lack of enthusiasm will only hinder you, but will not derail your chance to become the person you ought to be. Express yourself and honor the people who has inspired you to become the very person you wanted to be.

5. Live from the inside out Increase your awareness of your inner wisdom by regularly reflecting in silence. Commune with nature. Breathe deeply to quiet your distracted mind. For most of us city slickers it's hard to even find the peace and quiet we want even in our own home. In my case I often just sit in a dimly lit room and play some classical music. There's sound, yes, but music does soothe the savage beast.

6. Honor your strengths What are your positive traits? What special talents do you have? List three - if you get stuck, ask those closest to you to help identify these. Are you imaginative, witty, good with your hands? Find ways to express your authentic self through your strengths. You can increase your self-confidence when you can share what you know to others.

7. Serve others When you live authentically, you may find that you develop an interconnected sense of being. When you are true to who you are, living your purpose and giving of your talents to the world around you, you give back in service what you came to share with others -your spirit - your essence. The rewards for sharing your gift with those close to you is indeed rewarding, much more if it were to be the eyes of a stranger who can appreciate what you have done to them.

Self-improvement is indeed one type of work that is worth it. It shouldn't always be within the confines of an office building, or maybe in the four corners of your own room. The difference lies within ourselves and how much we want to change for the better.

Seven Steps to Being Your Best Self

Know your purpose
Are you drifting through life with little direction - hoping that you will discover contentment, health and wealth? They say, 'I am not comfortable with this as I feel like I am not being myself. I am trying to be someone else instead'.

As a result they deprive themselves of the power of modeling excellence and producing exceptional results in a short time.

Well, let me ask you a question.

Think about the behaviors and physiology that you exhibit right now. Where did they come from? Were you born with your gestures, mannerisms, tone of voice and behaviors? No. You behave the way you do now because ever since you were a kid, you had been unconsciously modeling the behaviors and physiologies of the people around you.

Do you realize that the way you speak or react to things may sometimes be similar to your parents or your close friends? And, the mannerism or gestures you exhibit could have come from people whom you admired (for whatever reason), and unconsciously adopted as your own. So, you have already been modeling your whole life, this is nothing new.

The problem is that in the past, you did not consciously model people of excellence. As a result, you may have unconsciously modeled a lot of ineffective behaviors and negative states of the people around you.

For example, if you are a poor mixer or ineffective communicator, it is because you (unconsciously) modeled poor speakers and communicators when you were young. If you are a poor decision maker and constantly find yourself feeling anxious and lacking in confidence, it is because you have unknowingly adopted the patterns from your friends or family. Haven't you ever behaved in a certain way and suddenly realized, 'oh my gosh! I'm becoming mother or father!'

So, isn't it time you start to consciously delete ineffective models of the past and start modeling and adopting patterns of people who exhibit excellence instead? Another point to understand is that modeling is not just about copying. It is about replicating and then improving on what you have modeled, or modifying it to suit your personal style.

For example, if you were a woman and you were to model the physiology of a male speaker exactly, it may not come off that well. You may have to modify elements of that person's physiology to suit your personality.

Model the best patterns, combine and adapt them to make them yourown. That is what modeling is all about.

Enjoy Your Life: Change Your Point of View

"Two men look out through the same bars: One sees the mud, and one sees the stars."- Frederick Langbridge, A Cluster of Quiet Thoughts

If you're placed second in a writing contest, will you jump for joy and push for better results the next time or will you be discouraged and find an excuse not to join again? In life, you are always filled with choices. You may opt to have a pessimistic view and live a self-defeated life or you may decide to take the optimistic route and take a challenging and fulfilling life.

So why nurture an optimistic point of view? And why now?
Well, optimism has been linked to positive mood and good morale; to academic, athletic, military, occupational and political success; to popularity; to good health and even to long life and freedom from trauma. On the other hand, the rates of depression and pessimism have never been higher. It affects middle-aged adults the same way it hits younger people. The mean age of onset has gone from 30 to 15. It is no longer a middle-aged housewife's disorder but also a teenager's disorder as well.

Here's how optimists are in action and researches that back up why it really pays to be an optimist:

Optimists expect the best
The defining characteristic of pessimists is that they tend to believe bad events, which will last a long time and undermine everything they do, are their own fault.
The truth is optimists are confronted with the same hard knocks of this world. What differs is the way they explain their misfortune---it's the opposite way. They tend to believe defeat is just a temporary setback, that its causes are confined to this one case. Optimists tend to focus on and plan for the 'problem' at hand. They use 'positive reinterpretation.' In other words, they most likely reinterpret a negative experience in a way that helps them learn and grow. Such people are unfazed by bad situation, they perceive it is a challenge and try harder. They won't say things will never get better. If I failed once, it will happen again and if I experience misfortune in one part of my life, then it will happen in my whole life.

Positive expectancies of optimists also predict better reactions during transitions to new environments, sudden tragedies and unlikely turn of events. If they fall, they will stand up. They see opportunities instead of obstacles. People respond positively to optimists, optimists are proactive and less dependent on others for their happiness. They find no need to control or manipulate people. They usually draw people towards them. Their optimistic view of the world can be contagious and influence those they are with. Optimism seems a socially desirable trait in all communities. Those who share optimism are generally accepted while those who spread gloom, panic and hysteria are treated unfavorably.

In life, these people often win elections; get voted most congenial and sought for advice. When the going gets tough, optimists get tougher. Optimists typically maintain higher levels of subjective well-being during times of stress than do people who are less optimistic. In contrast, pessimists are likely to react to stressful events by denying that they exist or by avoiding dealing with problems. Pessimists are more likely to quit trying when difficulties arise.
They persevere. They just don't give up easily, they are also known for their patience. Inching their way a step closer to that goal or elusive dream.
Optimists are healthier and live longer
Medical research has justified that simple pleasures and a positive outlook can cause a measurable increase in the body's ability to fight disease.
Optimists health is unusually good. They age well, much freer than most people from the usual physical ills of middle age. And they get to outlive those prone to negative thoughts.

So why not be an optimist today? And think positively towards a more fulfilled life.
Why not look forward to success in all your endeavors? Why not be resilient? Like everybody else you are bound to hit lows sometimes but don't just stay there. Carry yourself out of the mud and improve your chances of getting back on the right track. And why not inspire others to remove their dark-colored glasses and see life in the bright side?

Developing your full potential

While many of us are happy in life and do accomplish to some extent what we set out to do, there aren’t many that actually push themselves that little bit further and go on to develop their full potential. While we might be particularly good at doing certain things in life we could excel if only we had the courage and belief in ourselves to go for it.

As children we are full of excellent ideas, they never stop flowing because we have an open mind and belief in ourselves that we can accomplish just about anything. However, as we grow up fear of if we are doing the right thing and of speaking out and being ridiculed takes over and we stem the flow of our imagination and ideas. We hold back our thoughts and this can stop us from developing our full potential.

There are many ways you can start developing your potential, it’s never too late. You should remember that there is no right and wrong way of thinking and many times the reason why others try to make you feel inferior when you voice opinions and ideas is because they wish they had had the idea and courage to speak up. So focus on your skills and abilities and let your thoughts run free, put them to use and truly excel in life.

In order to be successful you should realize that you will sometimes make mistakes, no one is perfect and mistakes are ok providing you acknowledge them and learn from them. Characteristics that you can nurture and that will lead to developing your true and full potential include:

Working hard – putting your all into everything you do when working towards what you want in life

Having patience – things don’t happen overnight so have patience and you will be rewarded

Determination – stick to your guns and never give in when things don’t go your way or you come across hurdles

Commitment – be committed towards your goals and what you what to achieve, set goals in mind and don’t let anything or anyone stand in your way of reaching them

Organizational skills – the more organized you are the easier the road to success will be, plan out your ideas to their fullest before putting them into action

Learn from mistakes – you will make mistakes along the way but you can learn valuable lessons from these and move on

Confidence in yourself – you have to be self-confident and believe in yourself and your ideas, there is no room for doubt

Stay realistic – don’t set yourself goals that you cannot realistically achieve in a set amount of time, by setting yourself unrealistic goals you are setting yourself up for failure again and again.

When developing your full potential the two most important things to remember are, what you want out of life and what you can realistically do to make that possible. Once you have these facts clear then you can go full steam ahead towards achieving what you want.

How to Develop an Effective Strategy To Reach Your Goals

How to Develop an Effective Strategy To Reach Your Goals

You can have all the drive and energy, but without the right strategy, you will never get what you want. By the same token, every outcome is possible, given an effective strategy.

For example, imagine yourself as the small business owner of fruit shop that makes $10,000 in profits a month. Let's say that you decided to set a goal of increasing profits to $15,000 a month.
Would that be possible? Probably. You could work a lot harder, raise prices, increase trading hours, sell on-line or create loyalty program.

What if you set a goal of making $3 million a month from your fruit business? Would it be achievable? Most people would say, 'of course not, there is no way you can make that kind of money from a fruit business like that!'

True enough. Making $3m a month from that fruit business is impossible, if the owner continues to use the same business strategy. Yet, if he were to completely change the way he now does his small localized fruit business, would it be possible?

For instance, the strategy he could use would start by his studying how to greatly expand his market: he would write a dynamic business plan, raise capital through investments, invest in R & D to develop superior brand of fruit (for eg. Organic certified food products are seeing phenomenal growth everywhere as people become health conscious) and widen his range of fruit (eg: offer sun dried fruit without sulfur, candied fruit using organic sugar, pureed fruit rolls for kids), support reliable new suppliers, build a franchise system and then license thousands of business owners around the world to sell his fruit.

Would it then be possible for him to earn $3 million a month? Of course it would! With enough flexibility in our strategy, we can achieve just about anything.

You still wonder how a local fruit shop can possibly expand and go global? Impossible?

Well, how did a British housewife create some skin and hair care products in her kitchen using fruits and vegetables and then pit herself against billion-dollar, heavily advertised international cosmetic brands succeed nationally and then globally?

She developed the right strategy, which included the right unique products. This person I am referring to is Anita Roddick who founded the multi-million dollar chain of Body Shops.

What I have found time and again is that people who are able to produce exceptional results use different strategies from the majority.

When I had the opportunity to work with the top 1% of insurance agents (average yearly income of over $500,000), I found that they did not just work harder than the 97% who earned less than $50,000a year.

They used a completely different approach in managing their time, generating leads, converting sales and creating repeat businesses.

So, taking your cue from the winners, study their strategies. If you want to be a millionaire, study the strategies of millionaires. If you want to be a great leader, model the patterns of great leaders.

Managing Our States for Peak Performance

Managing Our States for Peak Performance

The notion of changing our physical body to change our states is not new. All the gurus who teach yoga, meditation, Qi gong and taichi are masters at changing the physical body to effect a complete change of state.

Unfortunately, many people use external stimuli to change their physical bodies and states, which is good in the long term. For example, people use junk food, coffee, drugs, alcohol or cigarettes, all of which alter their biochemistry changing how they feel temporarily. (Unfortunately there are long term negative effects of addictive foods and drugs on their physical body)

Some people smoke to change their states, to calm their nerves from stress and anxiety. Why does smoking change your state? The main factor is not only attributed to the chemicals. In fact, by inhaling, you are taking deep slow breaths. This is the reason smokers feel calmer and relaxed after a cigarette break.

A useful and beneficial strategy people use to change their states is exercise. I am sure you have experienced a time when you felt frustrated, depressed or stressed. What happens if you were to go running or play a game of tennis?

You would immediately forget that you were depressed! This is because exercising massively changes our entire physiology, preventing our brain from accessing the depressed state any more.

What happened when you stopped exercising? You gradually got depressed again, didn't you? However, this means that you do have the ability to shift completely out of negative states in an instant. By consciously taking charge of our physiology, we do not require external devices to change our states

Now, unless you change your physiology totally, it is impossible for you to change your state, In other words, if you remain in a physiology of procrastination, it is not possible for you feel motivated!

It is ironic when people say that no matter what they do, they cannot seem to get motivated. It is because they say it (unconsciously) with the most boring physiology and tonality possible. First and foremost, 'Change your physiology! Move faster! Breathe faster! Speak louder, faster and with more enthusiasm!"

The moment you know how to manage your states, it doesn't mean that external events can never affect you anymore. It doesn't mean that you will never get upset or lazy anymore! Most of us have our fair share of lazy states we get into.

The only difference is that by consciously choosing to be in control, shifting ourselves into resourceful states, will we be able to perform at our peak all of the time.

Why Is It Important To Improve Yourself

Why Is It Important To Improve Yourself?

Sometimes, when all our doubts, fears and insecurities wrap ourselves up, we always come up with the idea of wishing I was somebody else. More often than not, we think and believe that someone or rather, most people are better than us. When in reality, the fact is, most people are more scared than us.

You spot a totally eye-catching girl sitting by herself at a party, casually sipping on a glass of Asti Spumanti. You think to yourself, she looks so perfectly calm and confident. But if you could read through her transparent mind, you would see a bunch of clouds of thoughts and you might just be amazed that she is thinking what are people talking about and why I am seated here alone?... Why don't guys find me attractive, don't like my ankles, they look too skinny? I wish I was as intelligent as my best friend. We look at a young business entrepreneur and say...ooh? What else could he ask for?? He stares at himself at the mirror and murmur to himself, I hate my big eyes, I wonder why my friends won't talk to me, I hope mom and dad would still work things out.

Isn't it funny? We look at other people, envy them for looking so outrageously perfect and wish we could trade places with them, while they look at us and thinks of the same thing. We are insecure of other people who themselves are insecure of us. We suffer from low self-esteem, lack of self-confidence and lose hope in self improvement because we are enveloped in quiet desperation.

Sometimes, you notice that you have an irritating habit like biting off your finger nails, having a foul mouth. I have a friend who never gets tired of talking. And in most conversations, she is the only one who seems to be interested in the things she has to say. So all of our other friends tend to avoid the circles whenever she is around, and she doesn't notices how badly she became socially handicapped, gradually affecting the people in her environment.

One key to self improvement is to LISTEN and TALK to a trusted friend. Find someone who you will find comfort in opening up with even the most gentle topics you want to discuss. Ask questions like do you think I am ill-mannered, do I always sound so argumentative, do I talk too loud, does my breath smell, do I ever bore you when we were together? In this way, the other person will obviously know that you are interested in the process of self improvement. Lend her your ears for comments and criticisms and don't give her answers like you're exaggerating! That's just the way I am! Open up your mind and heart as well.

In return, you may want to help your friend with constructive criticism that will also help her improve herself. One of Whitney Houston's song says learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all. True enough. In order to love others, you must love yourself too. Remember, you cannot give what you do not have. Before telling other people some ways on how to improve themselves, let them see that you yourself is a representation and a product of self improvement. Self improvement makes us better people, we then inspire other people, and then the rest of the world will follow.

Stop thinking of yourselves as second-rate beings. Forget the repetitive thought of if only I was richer, if only I was thinner, and so on. Accepting your true self is the first step to self improvement. We need to stop comparing ourselves to others only to find out at the end that we've got 10 more reasons to envy them. We all have our insecurities. Nobody is perfect. We always wish we had better things, better features, better body parts, etc. But life need not to be perfect for people to be happy about themselves. Self improvement and loving yourself is not a matter of shouting to the whole world that you are perfect and you are the best. It's the virtue of acceptance and contentment. When we begin to improve ourselves, we then begin to feel contented and happy.

Overcoming Any Odds

Overcoming Any Odds

We have heard so many stories of people who were born with all kinds of handicaps and despite all the odds stacked against them, they managed to create a life most others can only dream about.

Yet, many, despite being born with all the money, advantages, resources and opportunities choose to make nothing of themselves. In fact, many of them end up destroying their lives.

Here are some examples.

Oprah Winfrey - Street urchin to talk show host extraordinary

What would you say of a child who was born to a single 13-year-old mother who was struggling to survive on the streets? What would you say if I told you that this child became the victim of multiple physical and sexual abuses before the age of thirteen herself? She later became pregnant and gave birth to a still-born baby.

She often got into trouble with the law before the age of fifteen. You wouldn't bet too much hope on her future would you? What if I told you that this person was Oprah Winfrey, one of the richest and most successful women in the United States? And she is an Afro-American as well.

Superman to Paraplegic...and now an Inspiration to all

Now, think of Christopher Reeve. Many of us remember Reeves as invincible Superman. He not only had super strength but superpowers, he could literally fly. More than that, Christopher Reeve had the fantastic physique to make the role he played to super stardom, magical and believable.

Then, in 1994, a tragic horse riding accident left Reeve paralyzed from the neck down for life! Initially, the meaning he attached to the accident was that his life was over and that he would be a burden to everyone.

Utterly depressed Reeve wanted his doctors to take him off life support and allow him to die. It was his wife who asked him to give himself (and his family) two years. If, at the end of the two years, he felt the same way, they would find a way to let him go.

But as Reeve's rehabilitation began, surrounded by his very loving and supportive family and friends, he started to attach a totally different meaning to his disability. He began to see that he(because of his fame) could become an inspiration and symbol to all those who are suffering from various disabilities, and who have lost hope.

The meaning he gave to his experience put him in a resourceful state. As he continued to bear his massive disability stoically and improve, bit by bit, he started to write what went to become a best-selling book called 'Nothing is Impossible'.

Though imprisoned in his body, Reeve gave hundreds of moving speeches and inspiring seminars; he even directed a movie and won an academy award.

Millions around the world have been inspired by Reeve indomitable spirit and he has raised millions through the Christopher Reeve foundation.

Terry Fox's Marathon of Hope

Heard of Terry Fox, Canadian marathon runner? Well, at 18 Terry was diagnosed with cancer and had to have his right leg amputated.

Most people would see this as a tragedy and never, in their wildest dreams, would they see themselves running. Not Terry Fox.

This courageous man decided that he would use this experience to raise money for cancer research and make a difference to all cancer sufferers. So, despite having only one leg, Terry started to run across Canada to raise a million dollars.

Sadly, half way through his journey, Terry contracted another cancer, this time in his lungs. He was forced to stop his run and died on June 28, 1981. However, because of the inspiration that his courage had created, he raised over US$24 million for his cause.

Today, over $330 million has been raised around the world through the Terry Fox Marathon of Hope.

In all of our lives, there will always come a time when things seem unfair, that no matter how hard we work for something, we did not get what we believed we deserved. It may even be a terrible tragedy. Many people allow events such as these to destroy their self-esteem, their faith and belief about themselves and the essential goodness of others.

They allow these events to cripple them forever in taking action. But there are always others who use what appeared to be negative events/happenings to grow stronger, wiser and more powerful.

To Your Success,

Adam Khoo
www.SuccessWithNLP.com

The Power of Repeated Words and Thoughts

The Power of Repeated Words and Thoughts
by Remez Sasson

Thinking is usually a mixture of words, sentences, mental images and sensations. Thoughts are visitors, who visit the central station of the mind. They come, stay a while, and then disappear, making space for other thoughts. Some of these thoughts stay longer, gain power, and affect the life of the person thinking them.

It seems that most people let thoughts connected with worries, fears, anger or unhappiness occupy their mind most of the time. They keep engaging their mind with inner conversation about negative situations and actions. This inner conversation eventually affects the subconscious mind, making it accept and take seriously the thoughts and ideas expressed in those inner conversations.

It is of vital importance to be careful of what goes into the subconscious mind. Words and thoughts that are repeated often get stronger by the repetitions, sink into the subconscious mind and affect the behavior, actions and reactions of the person involved.

The subconscious mind regards the words and thoughts that get lodged inside it as expressing and describing a real situation, and therefore endeavors to align the words and thoughts with reality. It works diligently to make these words and thoughts a reality in the life of the person saying or thinking them.

This means that if you often tell yourself that it is difficult or impossible to acquire money, the subconscious mind will accept your words and put obstacles in your way. If you keep telling yourself that you are rich, it will find ways to bring you opportunities to get rich, and push you towards taking advantage of these opportunities.

The thoughts that you express through your words shape your life. This is often done unconsciously, as few pay attention to their thoughts and the words they use while thinking, and let outside circumstances and situations determine what they think about. In this case there is no freedom. Here, the outside world affects the inner world.

If you consciously choose the thoughts, phrases and words that you repeat in your mind, your life will start to change. You will begin creating new situations and circumstances. You will be using the power of affirmations.

Affirmations are sentences that are repeated often during the day, and which sink into the subconscious mind, thereby releasing its enormous power to materialize the intention of the words and phrases in the outside world. This does not mean that every word you utter will bring results. In order to trigger the subconscious mind into action, the words have to be said with attention, intention and with feeling.

In order to obtain positive results, affirmations have to be phrased in positive words. Look at the following two sentences:

1. I am not weak anymore.

2. I am strong and powerful.

Though both sentences seem to express the same idea, but in different words, the first one is a negative sentence. It creates in the mind a mental image of weakness. This is wrong wording. The second sentence awakens in the mind a mental image of strength.

It is not enough to say an affirmation a few times, and then expect your life to change. More than this is necessary. It is important to affirm with attention, as well as with strong desire, faith and persistence. It is also important to choose the right affirmation for any specific situation. You need to feel comfortable with it; otherwise the affirmation may not work or may bring you something that you do not really want.

Affirmations can be used together with creative visualization, to strengthen it, and they can be used separately, on their own. They are of special importance for people who find it difficult to visualize. In this case they serve as a substitution to creative visualization.

Instead of repeating negative and useless words and phrases in the mind, you can choose positive words and phrases to help you build the life you want. By choosing your thoughts and words you exercise control over your life.

Here are a few affirmations:

- Day by day I am becoming happier and more satisfied.

- With every inhalation I am filling myself with happiness.

- Love is filling my life now.

- The power of the Cosmos is filling my life with love.

- A lot of money is flowing now into my life.

- The power of the Universal Mind is now filling my life with wealth.

- The powerful and vital energy of the Cosmos is flowing and filling my body and mind.

- Healing energy is constantly filling every cell of my body.

- I always stay calm and in control of myself, in every situation and in all circumstances.

- I am having a wonderful, happy and fascinating day.

© Copyright Remez Sasson

Remez Sasson teaches and writes on positive thinking, creative visualization, motivation, self-improvement, peace of mind, spiritual growth and meditation. Well, yeah I'm guilty about that one as well, unless I'm caught dead wearing a lampshade over my head after a few rounds of vodka?half-naked! Okay, bad example and I apologize to everyone reading this after getting nightmares about me in that state of drunken stupor. Just don't ask how it happened, please.

But what's really interesting is that how do people go through the usual part of life when faced with vein-popping stress? I mean, the new age thing like Zen or yoga is one of the good things and it actually works. Is there room for the intellectual side of people who can actually smell the roses-in-a-can while on the move? It kind of had me thinking that there really must be something in this 'mind-over-matter' thing.

Humor is indeed the best medicine there is whenever you are. I mean anyone can pay good money to listen to a comedian just to make you wet your pants after laughing so hard. Despite of what's been happening, and to those who has gone though the ordeal, it's better to just laugh while facing the troubles with a clear mind than anger with a clouded vision.

One of my favorite celebrities of all time may have to be Woody Allen. Now this is one guy who gives you the in-your-face bluntness that he pulls out with gusto, even without even trying. You can talk just about anything with a man, and he's bound to mock the subject and you'll end up laughing rather than being upset about it.

Woody Allen has this to say:
1. "Money is better than poverty, if only for financial reasons." It sounds good to me, I mean the practicality of all things does involve money but it doesn't have to take an arm and a leg to get it.

2. "I believe there is something out there watching us. Unfortunately, it's the government." 'Nuff said.

3. "There are worse things in life than death. Have you ever spent an evening with an insurance salesman?" This happens to be one of the classic ones. I mean the issue about life's little problems isn't all that bad, until 'he' shows up.
Sure, relationships can get complicated, or does have its complications that probably any author about relationships is bound to discover it soon. We follow what our heart desires, unless you're talking about the heart as in the heart that pump blood throughout your body.

4. "Love is the answer, but while you're waiting for the answer, sex raises some pretty interesting questions." And if you want more, just keep on asking!

5. "A fast word about oral contraception. I asked a girl to go to bed with me, she said 'no'." It sounds, 'practical', I think.
And when it comes to everyday life, he really knows how to make the best out of every possible scenario, and it doesn't involve a lawsuit if he strikes a nerve.

6. "Basically my wife was immature. I'd be at home in the bath and she'd come in and sink my boats." I never had a boat in my bathtub before. Just staring at it while soaking in hot water makes me seasick already.

7. "I am not afraid of death, I just don't want to be there when it happens." If it rains, it pours.

8. "I am thankful for laughter, except when milk comes out of my nose." It could get worse when you're guzzling on beer?or mouthwash, and it happened to me once!

9. "If you want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans." At least he doesn't smite us with lightning, and I'm thankful for that.
And despite of what may happen to all of us in the next ten, twenty, or even thirty years, I guess we all have to see things in a different kind of light and not just perspective. I can't seem to imagine life without any piece of wisdom that could guide us. Whether we're religious or not, it takes more courage to accept your fears and learn how to deal with them is all that matters when it comes to even just getting along.
And to sum things up, here is the last nugget of wisdom to go by?however, whenever, and wherever we may be.

10. "The talent for being happy is appreciating and liking what you have, instead of what you don't have."

Setting Your Goals - Easier Said, Easily Done

Setting Your Goals - Easier Said, Easily Done

The basics of setting a goal is an open secret known by top-caliber athletes, successful businessmen and businesswomen and all types of achievers in all the different fields. The basics of setting goals give you short-term and long-term motivation and focus. They help you set focus on the acquisition of required knowledge and help you to plan and organize your resources and your time so that you can get the best out of your life.

Setting clearly defined short term and long term goals will enable you to measure your progress and achieve personal satisfaction once you have successfully met your goals. Charting your progress will also enable you to actually see the stages of completion leading to the actual realization of your goals. This eliminates the feeling of a long and pointless grind towards achieving your goal. Your self-confidence and level of competence will also improve as you will be more aware of your capabilities as you complete or achieve your goals.

The basics of goal settings will involve deciding what you really want to do with your personal life and what short term and long term goals you need to achieve it. Then you have to break down goals into the smaller and manageable targets that you must complete in your way to achieving your lifetime targets. Once you have your list waste no time in tackling your goals. A good way to have a manageable list is to have a daily and weekly set of goals. By doing this you will be always in the position of going towards you life plan goals. Everyday will give you the opportunity to fulfill a certain goal giving you the feeling of accomplishment.

Here are some pointers that should be taken into consideration in setting goals and achieving them.

Attitude plays a very big role in setting and achieving your goals. You must ask yourself if any part of you or your mind holding you back towards completing your simplest goals? If there are any part of your behavior that is being a hindrance or puts your plans into disarray? If you do have problems in these areas then the immediate thing to do is to address this problem. Solutions may include a visit to a doctor or psychiatrist to control your emotions.

Careers are made by good time management practice. Failing in a career is often attributed to bad time management. Careers require a lot from an individual which often makes the career the life of the individual. Plan how far do you want to go into your career.

Education is key in achieving your goals. If your goals require you to have a certain kind of degree or require a certain specialization or demand a certain skill to be developed, make plans in getting the appropriate education.

Your family should never be left out of your plans. If you are just starting out then you have to decide if you want to be a parent or when you want to be a parent. You also have to know if you really would be a good parent and how well would you relate to extended family members

Personal financial situations also play a major role in achieving your goals. Have a realistic goal on how much you really want to earn. You also must be able to create plans or stages by which you will be able to reach your earning potential.

Physically gifted individuals may be able to achieve sports related goals like being in the National Basketball association or National Football League. Determining your physical capabilities should be one of your priorities. Physical limitations could however be conquered with proper planning.
As the saying goes -'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy', or something to that effect, is by all means true down to the last the letter. Giving yourself a little pleasure: should be included into your plans.

To start achieving your lifetime goals, set a quarter of a century plan, then break it down to 5 year plans then break it down again to 1 year plans, then 6 month plans then monthly plans, then weekly, then daily. Then create a things-to-do list for the day. Always review your plans and prepare for contingencies.

The basics of goal settings should not be so difficult once you get to be familiar with them.

Hypnosis - 12 Steps To Acquire Mind-Power

Hypnosis - 12 Steps To Acquire Mind-Power
By: Pradeep Agarwall

Step One
Choose a quiet place, which is free from all distraction, interruption or disturbance. This may even be inside a bus or in your own room. The idea is to be able to concentrate in any environment that you find is suitable. The ideal is to be able to concentrate in any environment that you find is suitable. The ideal time, however, I have found to be is, early in the morning or before going to bed. The ideal place however, may be anywhere as long as you can concentrate.

Step Two
Feel comfortable. Wear loose clothes or else loosen your belt and tie.

Step Three
Be comfortable. Keep your spine straight. Loosen your hands. Relax! This eases your body tension and helps your blood circulate efficiently.

Step Four
Close your eyes. That way your physical world does not interrupt you and you can concentrate on your mental world. But avoid quenching your eyes. Close them gently. In fact, once you focus on your images, you may find your eyes closing naturally.

Step Five
Breathe normally. Let your body roll with the rhythm of your breathing. Listen to that rhythm.

Step Six
Now begin the process of visualization. Create the key images of the subject you have chosen. Form the shape. Add colour. Build the sound. Sense them! Focus on them. See them as sharply and clearly as you can with your mind's eye.

Step Seven
Put yourself in the images you have created. You must be inside the picture so as to let your subconscious mind know that the image you see that leads to your goal is actually meant for you, and not for anyone else.

Step Eight
Feel the image you have created. Now that you are inside the picture imagine yourself to be leading the time you see. Feel the environment. Watch how different it feels to lead a life that you had desired. Bring your images alive.

Step Nine
Experience the images with all your emotions. See! Hear! Smell! Feel how it feels to have achieved your goals. Let the excitement and happiness of success flow through you. Let the thrill of success build in you. Feel your success.

Step Ten
Once you have experienced your images with emotion, let your mind go blank. If you hold on to your images for too long, the images might disappear due to overexposure. So, let go of it.

Step Eleven
Create a space in your mind to receive what you desire. Say to yourself that what you desire - like, "I deserve to be healthy", "I deserve to be rich and famous." By doing this, you not only let your subconscious mind support the picture, you literally achieve your success.

Step Twelve
Feel creative while creating the images. I have given you the basic guidelines in the following pages to create visuals that will help you achieve your goals. You may change them accordingly to suit your needs. The more the images meet your specific needs, the more effective they will be.

These then are the twelve important steps to mind-power. Remember, it is better to visualize 2-3 times a day for a shorter duration than to visualize for a long stretch during the day. Doing this, the quality of visuals remain fresh instead of becoming stale and plaid and draining all energy out of you.

Steps one to ten might take you anything between 5-10 minutes. It is better if you do not prolong it. Instead, repeat it at another time of the day.

When you release the image after this brief exercise, your mind will become free of the mind-power you had activated. But your subconscious mind keeps on supporting the image you had seen. This helps your goal and your dreams to be a reality.

The twelve steps to Mind power that I have explained above is the most powerful tool in this world. When you switch on your mind power and extend it to creative visualization for turning your dreams into reality - then, that is exactly what will happen. Your dreams will become reality.

Remember, with your mind you can rule the world.

Pradeep Agarwall is a renowned Hypnosis & NLP guru with career spanning two and half decades He is also a much sought after speaker and peak performance consultant for Sports Teams and organizations

What We Focus On Affects Our Results In Life

Where do you focus on in your life?

At any given second, there are two million bits of information bombarding us. While it is impossible to consciously be aware of everything, our mind tends to filter all this stimuli and focus on a few chunks of information at a time.

Similarly, when we think of something in the past or something in the future, we tend to focus on certain aspects of the experience. And to us what we choose to focus on becomes most real in our minds.

Some people have a pattern of focusing on pictures, sounds and feelings that put them into un-resourceful states while others generate pictures, sounds and feelings them put them into resourceful states.

How about you? What do you do when you meet with failure? Some people keep playing mind pictures of themselves screwing up. Some people even play it like a bad movie, over and over again in their heads.

They keep seeing themselves making the bad decisions, experiencing the consequences and they re-play all the negative voices around them. They may play the sound of their boss shouting at them. Then they run an internal dialogue that goes like this: 'How could I have been so stupid!' 'Why do I always screw things up?'

What kind of pictures and sounds should one play to produce are sourceful state?

Well, this is what positive people do when they encounter failure. They choose to re-present the failure as feedback that will lead them into finding a solution. Instead of re-playing scenes of the event or project that flopped, they focus on what they can learn from it, and how they will do it the next time...to get good results.

They may even imagine themselves succeeding, using what they have learnt from the past experience, and their success would be accompanied by the sounds of people cheering or the boss congratulating them.

They may play an internal dialogue that goes something like this:'I'll make it the next time for sure', 'I'll prove that I can turn things around'. Or they'll say reflectively:' Now, what can I learn from this experience'.

Our minds are never still or idle...throughout our waking hours we play mental programs continuously. Now, start becoming aware of the kind of mental program you usually run, when you are about to take on a challenging task?

For example, just before making an important presentation or writing a difficult report, what goes on in your mind?

Are you one of those who habitually focus on how difficult it is going to be? Do you see yourself being overwhelmed and stressed out? Do you mutter under your breath, 'Oh no! How am I ever going to do this?' 'What if I screw up?' 'It's just too difficult!' You may even picture yourself screwing up or giving up. As a result you get into a state of nervous anxiety.

But can you choose to represent the challenge very differently in your mind? Of course! You could choose to focus on how easy, fun and rewarding the challenge will be. Confident people will picture themselves dealing with the task or project effortlessly. They may even have an internal voice saying, 'I am finally getting this done! This is so rewarding!' 'I knew I could do it.'

Now, given the same challenge, why do some people rise to it while others feel apprehension? The interesting fact is that most of us do not consciously decide what pictures, sounds and feelings we are going to generate in our mind.

Our mind seems to be on auto-pilot and, within seconds of being faced with a challenge, it will subconsciously, create re-presentations. And the kinds of re-presentations created are dependent on past conditioning.

Isn't this scary? It appears that we do not have much control over our mind! This is why most people feel that their emotions control them.

Begin by paying full attention to the 'program' that is running in your brain-mind. If you find that what you are thinking of is not putting you in a resourceful state, then change it! In short, consciously change WHAT you focus on! You may keep slipping back, and each time you do, pull yourself up and re-focus.

If you want to have mastery over your mind and emotions, then you must begin right away to control what you focus on!

To Your Success,
Adam Khoo
www.SuccessWithNLP.com

Impossible is Just a Word

Impossible is Just a Word

Everyone, at some point of his or her life, has dreamed of being somebody special, somebody big. Who hasn't fantasized about being the one who hits the game-winning homer? Who hasn't dreamed of being the homecoming queen? And how many times have we dreamed of being rich, or successful, or happy with our relationships? Often, we dream big dreams and have great aspirations.

Unfortunately, our dreams remain just that? dreams. And our aspirations easily collect dust in our attic. This is a sad turn of events in our life. Instead of experiencing exciting adventures in self actualization, we get caught up in the humdrum of living from day-to-day just barely existing.

But you know what? Life could be so much better, if only we learned to aim higher. The most common problem to setting goals is the word impossible. Most people get hung up thinking I can't do this. It's too hard. It's too impossible. No one can do this. However, if everyone thought that, there would be no inventions, no innovations, and no breakthroughs in human accomplishment.

Remember that scientists were baffled when they took a look at the humble bumblebee. Theoretically, they said, it was impossible for the bumblebee to fly. Unfortunately for the bumble, bee no one has told it so. So fly it does. On the other hand, some people suffer from dreaming totally outrageous dreams and not acting on them. The result? Broken dreams, and tattered aspirations.

If you limit yourself with self-doubt, and self-limiting assumptions, you will never be able to break past what you deem impossible. If you reach too far out into the sky without working towards your goal, you will find yourself clinging on to the impossible dream.

Try this exercise.
Take a piece of paper and write down some goals in your life. Under one header, list down things you know you can do. Under another header, write the things you might be able to do. And under one more, list the things that are impossible for you to do. Now look at all the headers strive every day to accomplish the goals that are under things you know you can do. Check them when you are able to accomplish them. As you slowly are able to check all of your goals under that heading, try accomplishing the goals under the other header-the one that reads you might be able to do. As of the items you wrote under things I could do are accomplished, you can move the goals that are under things that are impossible for you to do, to the list of things you might be able to do.

As you iterate through this process, you will find out that the goals you thought were impossible become easier to accomplish. And the impossible begin to seem possible after all. You see, the technique here is not to limit your imagination. It is to aim high, and start working towards that goal little by little.
However, it also is unwise to set a goal that is truly unrealistic. Those who just dream towards a goal without working hard end up disappointed and disillusioned. On the other hand, if you told someone a hundred years ago that it was possible for man to be on the moon, they would laugh at you. If you had told them that you could send mail from here to the other side of the world in a few seconds, they would say you were out of your mind. But, through sheer desire and perseverance, these impossible dreams are now realities.

Thomas Edison once said that genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Nothing could be truer. For one to accomplish his or her dreams, there has to be had work and discipline. But take note that that 1% has to be a think-big dream, and not some easily accomplished one. Ask any gym rat and he or she will tell you that there can be no gains unless you are put out of your comfort zone. Remember the saying, no pain, no gain? That is as true as it can be.

So dream on, friend! Don't get caught up with your perceived limitations. Think big and work hard to attain those dreams. As you step up the ladder of progress, you will just about find out that the impossible has just become a little bit more possible.

How to Beat the Bad Day Blues

Beating the Bad Day Blues?

Whenever you have a bad day for whatever reason, what you need to do is think. Think hard, but not about the misery or the misfortune that has hit you. You may be of the opinion, of course, the unfortunate events or experiences of the day are going to haunt you, put you under depression and mental stress, drain your emotions of their usual energy, kill your enthusiasm for life and spoil everything that you hold dear in life. In short, your negative thoughts may make your bad day seem worse than it actually is. Undoubtedly, that will be the case if you surrender yourself to the consequences, not otherwise. If you take control, you can devise ways and means of beating the bad day blues.

Since negative thoughts and emotions tend to overwhelm you on a bad day, you must think of strategies that thwart them. Turn to vigorous physical work out. Or, take a long walk or go swimming. Or, just get out into the open and sit somewhere and observe the plants and trees and flowers or the sunset, if it is sunset time. Read a pleasurable book, watch a funny movie or do something that distances you from the bad day situation, preferably both physically and, more importantly, mentally.

The good times
Remember the good old days that enriched your life in the past, all the happy experiences that elevated your spirits and all those special friends and relatives who brought cheer and laughter into your life. Think of the good things of your life and be grateful for the blessings bestowed on you. Put against the bright light of your appreciation of all those better days, this single bad day or a small bunch of bad days will pale into insignificance.

Do not wallow in your bad moods and emotions because that is a sure way of plunging deeper into sorrow. A bad day will not become a good day by stewing over it. Remember that a bad day is just one passing day. It might have left a few scars on your mind and body but is important to remember that the pain is temporary. Time is a great healer. Today, just ignore the negative aspects of the day. Instead, look at the positive side of the bad event or happening that spoiled your day. Are there any lessons in it for your future? How can you avoid getting into the same or similar situation?

This does not mean that you start thinking about your purpose in life, your personal relationships, your career graph or your future on a bad day. The day is not suitable for taking any major decisions about your future life, because such decisions cannot be sound, given the dark background. Put off taking important decisions till a better day when you regain your mental poise and composure.

One simple formula that will help you on your bad day lies in the fact that your sorrows get divided and your pleasures get multiplied when you share them with your close friends or confidantes. You may try to overcome your bad day by discussing your problems with your close friends.

Any or all of these easy-to-adopt measures will be helpful in providing relief to you on a bad day.

Are You A Victim in Life?

Are You A Victim in Life?

'If only I had more time.'

'If only my husband could be more understanding.'

'If only my boss would die!'

'If only my son could be more motivated.'

'If only I could get better customers',

these are the common litany of excuses one would hear. People who believe themselves to be victims say that the only way for their lives to change for the better is when other people get better, or if the business-social environment improves.

As long as you keep thinking that it is not your fault, that something else must change, you will continue to feel helpless and powerless. By continuing to play the victim, you will be totally at the mercy of your environment.

Why do so many people choose to be a Victim?
Time to time, we find ourselves unconsciously lapsing into victim mode till it leads to being an undesirable part of makeup.

Do you have friends and acquaintances who complain non-stop about their employers, colleagues, spouse, society at large, or the government? How about you? Without any intention of being cold and heartless, the fact stays; as long as people convince themselves to be the victims of circumstance, they will never be able to take charge, learn from their experiences, move on and change their lives for the better.

Why do we do this?
The simple reason being it makes us feel good!

By playing the victim, we get lots of sympathy, don't we? At the same time, we want to feel assured that we were in the right by justifying our own actions. Soon, complaining becomes therapeutic. After all the complaining, we actually feel relieved of an emotional burden.

Beneficial as it may seem, though playing the victim appears to have lots of payoffs, the cost of doing so is high for as long as we blame something or someone else, we rob ourselves of the power to take charge, and change the situation.

Giving excuses and blaming others takes power away from you.
The reality is that most people act in a way that puts others in charge of their life. When something doesn't work in their life, they choose to give excuses, blame others and complain.

The problem with this is that by doing so, you are putting others in control of your life. You put yourself in the role of victim. This is the reason causing most people feel totally helpless, with no control over what is happening to them. Most of the time the outside world will not change...not until we change first!

What Drives Us Forward?

What Drives Us Forward?

If taking action is the key to producing results, why doesn't everybody take action? Why doesn't everybody follow through on their plans? Why is it that so many people know what they should do, but still don't do it?

The most common reasons are: 'I lack motivation', 'I'm too lazy', 'I don't feel confident' or 'I am afraid that...' Is this true for you as well? If you are like most people, you would probably be nodding your head.

For example, you know that you should start exercising three times a week, but you put it off because you feel lazy. As a salesperson, you know you should make ten cold calls a day, but you don't do it because you don't feel like being rejected. You know that public speaking will help your career, but you don't get on stage and face the audience because you feel the fear.

At the same time, there are many things we do, knowing full well that we shouldn't! Why is that so? That's because we feel like doing it.

For example, you know that eating that extra piece of delicious chocolate cake is bad for your weight/health but you still do it because you feel greedy. You know that you shouldn't go back to sleep when the alarm rings, but you still lie in because it feels so good.

Have you ever experienced a day when you managed to get a lot of things done? When your ideas flowed, when you made the best decisions and you were absolutely on form? Well on those 'top of form' days, you were in a series of resourceful states.

Then again, have you had days when you couldn't get anything done? When you couldn't do anything right? You said and did the most stupid things? How could this happen? You were the same person and had exactly the same resources available to you. The difference was that you were not in a resourceful state.

If you think about it, 'motivation', 'fear', 'confidence', 'inertia- expressed as procrastination', are nothing but emotional stateswe experience.

Emotional 'States' like 'excitement', 'passion', 'confidence', and 'happiness', 'exhilaration 'get us to take action and perform at our peak.

At the same time, states like ' fear', 'anxiety', 'stress', 'inertia', 'depression', 'tiredness' hold us back.

It is not logic that drives our actions. It is our emotions. Very often, we know that logically we should do something, but we don't do it because we don't feel like doing it.

People who take consistent action and produce great results do so because they experience many more resourceful states on a daily basis. It is truly our emotional 'states' that drive us forward, drive our actions and behaviors all the time. How we feel truly determines what we do and how we do it. It is these empowering states that allow us to get the best out of themselves!

Motivation, The Heart of Self Improvement

Pain may sometimes be the reason why people change. Getting flunked grades make us realize that we need to study. Debts remind us of our inability to look for a source of income. Being humiliated gives us the push to speak up and fight for ourselves to save our face from the next embarrassments. It may be a bitter experience, a friend, tragic story, a great movie, or an inspiring book that will help us get up and get just the right amount of motivation we need in order to improve ourselves.

With the countless negativities the world brings about, how do we keep motivated? Try on the tips I prepared from A to Z

A - Achieve your dreams. Avoid negative people, things and places. Eleanor Roosevelt once said, the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

B - Believe in your self, and in what you can do.

C - Consider things on every angle and aspect. Motivation comes from determination. To be able to understand life, you should feel the sun from both sides.

D - Don't give up and don't give in. Thomas Edison failed once, twice, more than thrice before he came up with his invention and perfected the incandescent light bulb. Make motivation as your steering wheel.

E - Enjoy. Work as if you don't need money. Dance as if nobody's watching. Love as if you never cried. Learn as if you'll live forever. Motivation takes place when people are happy.

F - Family and Friends are life greatest treasures. Don't loose sight of them.

G - Give more than what is enough. Where does motivation and self improvement take place at, work ? At home? At school? When you exert extra effort in doing things.

H - Hang on to your dreams. They may dangle in there for a moment, but these little stars will be your driving force.

I - Ignore those who try to destroy you. Don't let other people to get the best of you. Stay out of toxic people, the kind of friends who hates to hear about your success.

J - Just be yourself. The key to success is to be yourself. And the key to failure is to try to please everyone.

K - keep trying no matter how hard life may seem. When a person is motivated, eventually he sees a harsh life finally clearing out, paving the way to self improvement.

L- Learn to love yourself. Now isn't that easy?

M - Make things happen. Motivation is when your dreams are put into work clothes.

N - Never lie, cheat or steal. Always play a fair game.

O - Open your eyes. People should learn the horse attitude and horse sense. They see things in 2 ways, how they want things to be, and how they should be.

P - Practice makes perfect. Practice is about motivation. It lets us learn repertoire and ways on how can we recover from our mistakes.

Q - Quitters never win. And winners never quit. So, choose your fate, are you going to be a quitter? Or a winner?

R - Ready yourself. Motivation is also about preparation. We must hear the little voice within us telling us to get started before others will get on their feet and try to push us around. Remember, it wasn't raining when Noah build the ark.

S - Stop procrastinating.

T - Take control of your life. Discipline or self control jives synonymously with motivation. Both are key factors in self improvement.

U - Understand others. If you know very well how to talk, you should also learn how to listen. Yearn to understand first, and to be understood the second.

V - Visualize it. Motivation without vision is like a boat on a dry land.

W - Want it more than anything. Dreaming means believing. And to believe is something that is rooted out from the roots of motivation and self improvement.

X - X Factor is what will make you different from the others. When you are motivated, you tend to put on extras on your life like, extra time for family, extra help at work, extra care for friends, and so on.

Y - You are unique. No one in this world looks, acts, or talks like you. Value your life and existence, because you're just going to spend it once.

Z - Zero in on your dreams and go for it!!!

How To Disassociate Yourself From Depression

Do you know someone who is always depressed? They may have had bad experiences a long time ago, but they still get upset by these long past incidents?

I had a woman client who told me that her life was full of misery. When she talked about her bad experiences, she started crying and got very upset. I found out that she had a pattern of associating into all her painful memories. So, even though these incidents took place about five years ago, she still felt extremely miserable whenever she thought about them.

When I asked her to relate happy experiences in her life, she thought for a while but couldn't feel anything. She said, 'I don't feel for these (happy) experiences anymore.' Guess why? She had a pattern of disassociating from all her happy experiences, and associating into her negative ones!

No wonder she felt depressed constantly. When I taught her that she could consciously direct her mind to disassociate from all her bad experiences and associate into all her happy experiences, she began to take control over her emotions. The change was quite rapid.

When she thought of her bad experiences and disassociated, she started to feel the emotional intensity of the pain drop. Then I got her to start thinking of all her happy experiences and associating into them! Her face started glowing and she said she felt a lot better about herself. Since then, she has consciously been taking charge of the way her brain codes her experiences.

Do you know people who are the complete opposite? We call them the happy-go-lucky ones. Such people could have had some horrific experiences but they get over the bad patches very fast. Soon they are into a positive state and have moved on in life.

At the same time these cheery people can think back to the good things that happened to them, say five years ago, and feel happy and excited, all over again.

Why do they feel so differently about their good and bad experiences from the negative bunch? Again, it is because of the way the cheery people's brains have coded their memories. They tend to immediately disassociate from negative events they experience.Although they learn from their mistakes, they don't feel emotionally drained thinking about it.

At the same time, they tend to associate or plug into all their happy positive experiences. So they keep feeling the positive vibes of happy events, even after years have passed.

This is one of the most important qualities to have in order to be a successful entrepreneur, chief executive, politician, investor or salesperson and it's something you can use right now to supercharge yourself towards success and achieving your goals!

To Your Success,

Adam Khoo
http://tinyurl.com/success-with-nlp

Breaking the Procrastination Habit with Positive Self-Talk

Breaking the Procrastination Habit with Positive Self-Talk

Are you a reluctant procrastinator? Do you always wait until the last moment to get things done? Do you find you are always putting things off until you can't put them off any longer? Are your friends, family members, and co-workers frustrated with the way you tackle projects of any size? If so, you aren't alone. Procrastination is something many people deal with. Although it can be hard to change overnight, positive self-talk is a great way to stop procrastinating and change your life. Positive self-talk can help turn you from a procrastinator into a doer.

Using Positive Self-Talk to Stop Procrastinating

Positive self-talk is a great way to stop procrastinating because you can talk yourself out of procrastinating the minute you start! The problem for most of us who procrastinate is that it is just the way we do things. We don't even necessarily think about why we procrastinate. It's our normal approach to life, and it's hard to stop something we have been doing for so long. Positive self-talk is a great approach to stopping procrastination as it starts because the self-talk occurs in the moment!

Positive self-talk is the practice of responding to your mind's thoughts as they happen. If you know you have a big project you need to start working on today and you think it can wait until tomorrow, for example, you can stop and remind yourself that it needs to be started today. During those moments when you want to wait until tomorrow, you can use positive self-talk to make sure you don't put off until tomorrow what needs to be done today. Positive self-talk can stop the negative internal dialogue before it gets to the point of being overwhelming.

Many people use affirmations to help with positive self-talk. Affirmations are positive statements you can use to help you steer clear of procrastination. You should repeat these affirmations when you feel the urge to procrastinate.

An example of an affirmation that may help you with procrastination may be: "I feel no need to create obstacles for myself. I move forward, stronger than ever," or, "By keeping organized and using my time wisely, procrastination melts away." These are concise statements that can be memorized so no matter where you are when you begin to procrastinate, you can repeat these positive statements to yourself. Doing this helps you to talk yourself out of procrastination mode.

As you can see, positive self-talk is a great way to combat procrastination. You can reprogram the way you think when you use your affirmations. If you stop procrastination in its tracks each and every time, soon the habit of doing things when they need to be done will replace the habit of procrastination.

Once you repeat the process of positive self-talk many times, you'll be able to combat procrastination, lead a much less hectic life, and the people in your life will thank you for the change in the way you deal with things! When used effectively, positive self-talk can change your life for the better. So stop procrastinating and start talking to yourself!

Quantum Mind Power

Unlock your self improvement power

When we look at a certain object, a painting for example, we won't be able to appreciate what's in it, what is painted and what else goes with it if the painting is just an inch away from our face. But if we try to take it a little further, we'll have a clearer vision of the whole art work.

We reach a point in our life when we are ready for change and a whole bunch of information that will help us unlock our self improvement power. Until then, something can be staring us right under our nose but we don't see it. The only time we think of unlocking our self improvement power is when everything got worst.

Take the frog principle for example.
Try placing Frog A in a pot of boiling water. What happens? He twerps! He jumps off! Why? Because he is not able to tolerate sudden change in his environment, the water temperature. Then try Frog B: place him in a luke warm water, then turn the gas stove on. Wait til the water reaches a certain boiling point. Frog B then thinks oh! it's a bit warm in here.

People are like Frog B in general. Today, Anna thinks Carl hates her. Tomorrow, Patrick walks up to her and told her he hates her. Anna stays the same and doesn't mind her what her friends says. The next day, she learned that Kim and John also abhors her. Anna doesn't realize at once the importance and the need for self improvement until the entire community hates her.

We learn our lessons when we experience pain. We finally see the warning signs and signals when things get rough and tough. When do we realize that we need to change diets? When none of our jeans and shirts would fit us. When do we stop eating candies and chocolates? When all of our teeth has fallen off. When do we realize that we need to stop smoking? When our lungs have gone bad. When do we pray and ask for help? When we realize that we're gonna die tomorrow.

The only time most of us ever learn about unlocking our self improvement power is when the whole world is crashing and falling apart. We think and feel this way because it is not easy to change. But change becomes more painful when we ignore it. Change will happen, like it or hate it. At one point or another, we are all going to experience different turning points in our life and we are all going to eventually unlock our self improvement power not because the world says so, not because our friends are nagging us, but because we realized its for our own good.

Happy people don't just accept change, they embrace it. Now, you don't have to feel a tremendous heat before realizing the need for self improvement. Unlocking your self improvement power means unlocking yourself up in the cage of thought that is just the way I am? It is such a poor excuse for people who fear and resist change. Most of us program our minds like computers.

Jen repeatedly tells everyone that she doesn't have the guts to be around groups of people. She heard her mom, her dad, her sister, her teacher tell the same things about her to other people. Over the years, that is what Jen believes. She believes its her story. And what happens? Every time a great crowd would troop over their house, in school, and in the community, she tends to step back, shy away and lock herself up in a room. Jen didn't only believed in her story, she lived it. Jen has to realize that she is not what she is in her story. Instead of having her story post around her face for everyone to remember, she has to have the spirit and show people I am an important person and I should be treated accordingly!

Self improvement may not be everybody's favorite word, but if we look at things in a different point of view, we might have greater chances of enjoying the whole process instead of counting the days until we are fully improved. Three sessions in a week at the gym would result to a healthier life, reading books instead of looking at porns will shape up a more profound knowledge, going out with friends and peers will help you take a step back from work and unwind. And just when you are enjoying the whole process of unlocking your self improvement power, you'll realize that you're beginning to take things light and become happy.

Developing Will Power and Self Discipline

Developing Will Power and Self Discipline
by Remez Sasson

Most people admire and respect strong individuals, who have won great success by manifesting will power and self discipline. They admire people, who with sheer will power, self discipline and ambition, have improved their life, learned new skills, overcame difficulties and hardships, reduced their weight, rose high in their chosen field or advanced on the spiritual path.

The truth is that everyone can reach high levels of will power and self-discipline through a practical method of training. These inner power are not reserved for a few special people.

Will power and self discipline are two of the most important and useful inner powers in everyone's life, and have always been considered as essential tools for success in all areas of life. They can be learned and developed like any other skill, yet, in spite of this, only few take any steps to develop and strengthen them in a systematic way.

What is will power?
It is the inner strength to make a decision, take action, and handle and execute any aim or task until it is accomplished, regardless of inner and outer resistance, discomfort or difficulties.

It bestows the ability to overcomes laziness, temptations and negative habits, and to carry out actions, even if they require effort, are unpleasant and tedious or are contrary to one's habits.

What is self discipline?
It is the rejection of instant gratification in favor of something better. It is the giving up of instant pleasure and satisfaction for a higher and better goal.

It manifests as the ability to stick to actions, thoughts and behavior, which lead to improvement and success. Self-discipline is self-control, and it manifests in spiritual, mental, emotional and physical discipline.

The purpose of self-discipline is not living a limiting or a restrictive lifestyle. It does not mean being narrow minded or living like a fakir. It is one of the pillars of success and power. It bestows the inner strength to focus all your energy on your goal, and persevere until it is accomplished.

Both of these abilities are required for daily actions and decisions, and also for making major decisions and attaining major success. They are required for doing a good job, for studying, building a business, losing weight, bodybuilding and physical exercises, maintaining good relationships, changing habits, self improvement, meditation, spiritual growth, keeping and carrying out promises and for almost everything else.

One of the most simple and effective methods to develop will power and self-discipline is by refusing to satisfy unimportant and unnecessary desires. Everyone is constantly confronted and tempted by an endless stream of desires and temptations, many of which are not really important or desirable. By learning to refuse to satisfy every one of them, you get stronger.

Refusing and rejecting useless, harmful or unnecessary desires and actions, and intentionally acting contrary to your habits, sharpen and strengthen your inner strength. By constant practice your inner power grows, just like exercising your muscles at a gym increases your physical strength. In both cases, when you need inner power or physical strength, they are available at your disposal.

Here are a few exercises:
- Don't read the newspaper for a day or two.
- Drink water when thirsty, in spite of your desire to have a soft drink.
- Walk up and down the stairs, instead of taking the lift.
- Get down from the bus one station before or after your destination, and walk the rest of the way.
- For one week, go to sleep one hour earlier than usual.
- If you like ice cream, don't have any, for a day or two.

These are only a few examples to show how you can develop your will power and self-discipline. You may think that practicing such exercises is being tough on yourself, maybe a little, but they add so much to the storehouse of your inner strength. By following a systematic method of training you can reach far, have more control over yourself and your life, attain your goals, improve your life, and gain satisfaction and peace of mind.

Show and prove to yourself that you are strong and in control, and practice the above exercises for a little while, before passing any judgement on them.

© Copyright Remez Sasson

Remez Sasson teaches and writes on positive thinking, creative visualization, motivation, self-improvement, peace of mind, spiritual growth and meditation.
