DIFFRENTS BETWEEN UPS AND INVERTER

UPS:

Ups stands for uninterrupted power supply.It provides power supply to load ,when Input power(Mains) is failed(shut-downed), from the energy stored in the battery.it will provide near-instantaneous protection from input power interruptions.Its voltage range will be from 180v to 240v only as its voltage range(interval)is very less it protects the devices(applicants) connect to it from High voltage or short circuits.

It's divided into three categories

1.OFFLINE UPS

2.ONLINE UPS

3.Line interactive UPS

OFFLINE/STANDBY

The offline/standby UPS (SPS) offers only the most basic features, providing surge protection and battery backup. The protected equipment is normally connected directly to incoming utility power. When the incoming voltage falls below or rises above a predetermined level the SPS turns on its internal DC-AC inverter circuitry, which is powered from an internal storage battery.

ONLINE UPS

In an online UPS, the batteries are always connected to the inverter, so that no power transfer switches are necessary. When power loss occurs, the rectifier simply drops out of the circuit and the batteries keep the power steady and unchanged. When power is restored, the rectifier resumes carrying most of the load and begins charging the batteries, though the charging current may be limited to prevent the high-power rectifier from overheating the batteries and boiling off the electrolyte. The main advantage of an on-line UPS is its ability to provide an "electrical firewall" between the incoming utility power and sensitive electronic equipment.

Line-interactive

The line-interactive UPS is similar in operation to a standby UPS, but with the addition of a multi-tap variable-voltageautotransformer. This is a special type of transformer that can add or subtract powered coils of wire, thereby increasing or decreasing the magnetic field and the output voltage of the transformer. This is also known as a Buck–boost transformer.

INVERTER

Inverter is a electrical device w+hich converts DC current to AC current.It provides power supply to load ,when Input power(Mains) is failed(shut-downed), from the energy stored in the battery.When connected, an inverter allows these devices to provide electric power for small household devices..Its voltage range will be from 140v to 300v as its voltage range(interval)is very High it can't protects the devices(applicants) connect to it from High voltage or short circuits.

There are two types of inverters

Sine wave inverters produce good-quality AC power. They are expensive.
A modified sine wave inverter produces a lower quality of AC power, with strong power system harmonics but is cheaper. Various modulation strategies are used in cascaded multilevel inverters to reduce the harmonic contents.

First,this logo might not make much sense.but if you look closely,you'll see the numbet 1 in the negative space between the F and the red stripes.I also love how this logo communicates a feeling of speed.
This logo doesn't seem to hide much at first sight,but it gives you a little insght in the philosophy behind the brand.First of all,the yellow swoosh looks like a smile:Amazon wants to have the best customer satisfaction.the swoosh also connects the letters a and z,meaning that this store has everthing from a to z.

The sun logo is one of the most famous ambigrams in the world.You can read the brand name is every direction;both horizontally and vertically.This logo was designed by professor Vaughan Pratt of the Stanford University.

This simple looking logo actually carries a lot of information. First of all you can see the letters N and W,the first two letters of the brand name.but what most people don't see is the compass that points to the Northwest,another reference to the brand name.

SonyVaio is a well know brand of laptops.But did you know that the name Vaio logo also had hidden meaning? Well,the first two letters represent the basic analogue signal(sin wave).the last two letters look like a 1 and 0,representing the digital signal.

In this logo every lettter is made of the number 8.

This logo also uses a negative space to create the letter H.You can see three different parts:the letter Hand W and a whale's tail in blue.

First time, AUTO SHOW was held, in Hyderabad at Hitex and i was there with some of my friends to have a glance at new cars n bikes but i was disappointed to see vehicles which were commonly seen in the city like innova,beat,i10,i20,indica etc..
very few new vehicles were exhibited in that most are from toyota.
Few new vehicles are Toyota PRIUS,CAMRY,ETIOS hatchback,ETIOS sedan,land cruiser PRADO,
Chevrolet CRUZE and some bikes HONDA cb1000,YAMAHA r1,YAMAHA vmax.

Kodak announced their latest 14mp digital camera,"SLICE" The Kodak Slice features a 14 megapixel resolution, a 5× optical zoom, and a 3.5-inch 16:9 touchscreen interface. The camera sport optical image stabilization along with 2 GB of internal memory and expandable upto 32gb with microSD/microSDHC storage slot. The camera features smart capture technology offers intelligent scene detection and image capture, and the camera can capture 720p HD video at 30fps with sound—and if you’re really adventurous you can even edit the video in-camera and save out single frames as stills.

The heart of the Slice camera is probably the Slice Search feature, which enables users to organize and search photos by time, date, location, and—thanks to face recognition software—even by person. Users can also set up their own tags. Once users find the image(s) they want, users can just tap the Share button to push the material to sites like Flickr, FaceBook, YouTube, Kodak’s own Kodak Gallery, or plain old email—however, the camera doesn’t have Wi-Fi or integrated wireless connectivity, so the transfers happen when the user hooks the camera back up to their computer.

Kodak Slice will be available, by April 2010 and at price of $349.95(around 16500/-) ,in black, nickel, and a “radish” color.

Mumbai police have managed to track down two or three websites that are used to send masked messages and are collaborating with IT experts to get to the bottom of the matter, reports V Narayan from TNN. Two cases on getting rude SMS from a number a person knows, going to police with a complaint and then finding out that the supposed sender is clueless about what happened, have been reported to Mumbai police in the past month.

Though the police officials are yet to track down the sender, they have managed to unearth a bizarre truth, that of the 'masked SMS'. The user has to register on a website (for as little as $10) and can send text messages to and from any mobile number on the planet without being identified. "We have received two complaints in the last one month where the sender's number was camouflaged," said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rakesh Maria told TOI.

The masked SMS service is easy to operate. Giving TOI a demo, the IT expert logged on and sent this reporter an SMS from his colleague's number with utmost ease. Of course, the friend had no record of the said message in his outbox. Senior Nasscom officials say these websites can be blocked but it's a long process.

An Indian mobile phone company has launched a low-cost handset that uses commonly available AAA-sized batteries aimed at the hundreds of millions who live in areas where power supplies are erratic.

Priced at 1,699 rupees (35 dollars), Olive Telecommunications' "FrvrOn" -- short for "forever on" -- has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery common to mobile phones, but also a facility to include a AAA, dry-cell battery.

"We have electrification all across the country but the power supply is erratic," marketing manager Ravi Perti told AFP.

"With our phone, all one needs to do is pack a few extra cells (batteries) if one is travelling in areas where one expects power supply disruptions."

He said the phone would run for three hours non-stop on the lithium battery and for another hour with a conventional battery.

Though predominantly for the rural market, the handset "is suitable for the urban user as well. It is aimed at the heavy duty user who would need emergency battery backup," Perti said.

Government figures show more than 10,000 impoverished Indian villages have no access to grid electricity. Power cuts are common even in the smarter suburbs of cities including New Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.
