Hi Yogi, here's my attempt to define church revitalization. "Church revitalization is the process of helping a church that is dying spiritually - often accompanied by outward signs of decline - to reorient themselves around the gospel, return to spiritual priorities, repent of worldly thinking, rebuild trust in godly leadership, and re-invigorate the congregation, all under the authority of God's word and sovereign action of the Holy Spirit. It is modeled in Revelation 3:2 which says, "Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God."

As a communicative disorders specialist for 40 years, I have learned that communication is best done in person. I have seen text counsel go misunderstood. Communication is more than words, especially if you are talking about emotions. Those are communicated by facial expression and vocal intensity. How many times have we misunderstood a quick text requiring back and forth, or calls. Even this does not show the delicate balance required as emotions quickly change.
