Mesopotamia And Egypt Civilization

Ancient civilization has been carrying tons of history. It has been always curiosity to us that how we started to civilize and what leaded us till this stage. Scientists, historians and lots of researches agreed that human civilization started between 3500 and 3200 B.C.E. in Mesopotamia, the land between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. On the other hand, Egyptian civilization also started almost at the same time as Mesopotamian civilization. Around 3200 BCE, Egypt was brought together under one ruler—King Narmer. This is recognized as the beginning of the Egyptian civilization. In this essay, I am going to explain and compare between Mesopotamian and Egyptian's inventions and innovations.

Mesopotamian contributes a lot to accelerate the civilization process. They invented many important things, which we are still using and also, we are following their innovations. Mesopotamian's most remarkable invention was wheel transport. It was really tough and vital invention at that time. Another great invention of them was the calendar. They set the time, days, months based in twelve and its multiplication. We couldn't imagine how they invented such kind of things. Writing was also invented in Mesopotamia; actually writing was not invented, it evolved gradually over the course of a millennium. At the starting point, they used pictographic writing and it's developed by time. They also innovated basic concepts and formulas of Mathematics. History shows that they were especially focused in arithmetical and algebraic concepts.

Egyptian civilization has also contributed in many major inventions. Their emphasis was in the field of architecture and engineering. The engineering used in the construction of great pyramids by them has dazzled the world. Archeologists say that the construction of these monuments took a period of 20 years and the labor of thousands of men. The pyramid of Khufu at Giza has been such a remarkable achievement from ancient era that the modern world considers them as one of the seven wonders created by mankind in the past. Egyptian's next creation was a writing material similar to paper called papyrus from reeds found in the Nile. They developed a writing system called hieroglyphs that combined pictures and symbols. Eventually, they created an alphabet from their symbols. They also created calendar that was based on ten instead of twelve.

In my view, invention of calendar and wheels can be considered the most valuable invention of the Mesopotamian civilization. Because of Calendar, we are able to mark the important moments of the history. Wheels made it possible to travel around the world revealing great mysteries and bonding with other civilizations. Similarly, Ancient Egyptians are widely appreciated for their invention of paper and writing system. Invention of the writing system has indeed helped us document the historical achievements. Because of the writing system, we are able to study about the past.

Inventions are always precious to human civilization. Inventions show the creativity and logical reasoning possessed by humans of past and present. Human beings have always been indulged in finding solutions to simplify the ways of doing things. Humans also posses desire to leave behind them something remarkable to be cherished by future generations. As a result, great achievements are born. The pace of civilization begun from our ancestors has brought us to this modern age. It’s a dynamic world where nothing is constant. Each day presents us a new invention. It wonders me when I think of how our civilizations have developed till today and how there are still many wonders to come.

People have become overly dependent on technology.

We use technology on a daily basis every single day. Sometimes we don’t even realize it. We can’t imagine our day without technology. Mobile, laptop, computer, TV, car and so many other stuffs play the main role in our life to make perfect. But can you imagine what about few decades before? People survived their life without technology; however, they were living happily and creative too. Present days, people have become overly dependent on technology.

Now days, most of the students don’t know how to use a physical dictionary because of the internet sources and online dictionaries. Without thinking much, in one click people can get all the information whatever they want. For the small mathematics problems people use the calculator, so their mind becomes inactive in time. This kind of technology makes our life easier, but kills our creativity. People are becoming lazy day-by-day and expecting easier way than today’s technology.

Another huge impact technology has on our society is communication and social media. Social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Google have all contributed to the advance of technological advancement over the internet. News can be spread in all over the world within a second. People talk, chat, introduce with another people, and find the favorite music, movies and all the information from the internet; in result, the earlier technology; such as, gramophone, radio, CDs, DVDs and many more disappearing slowly.

People get lots of facilities because of the new invention; on the other hand, people are getting lots of trouble too. Many records show that most accidents are caused by people using their phones while driving. People use to text and talk while travelling so they could distract easily. Technology is a big help and a big problem.

People are totally dependent with technology in present days. What would be happening, if all the technology disappeared suddenly? Can we survive or not? Even we can’t imagine the world without technology. We need technology and inventions, but we don’t have to fully dependent with it. It creates lots of problems and gradually our new generation might be less creative human. Some of the technology really helps us in our daily life, but we keep little bit distance with it and don’t be addicted to mobile and internet.

The Causes of Stress In College Students

Now days every college provides a free consultantion to the students for their problems. Many researches show that in America, about 30 percent of university students left the college before completing their degree. Students discontinue their studies because of stresses. Students may get stressed because of different reasons. I am going to write some of the major reasons why students getting stressed in their life.

One of the main reasons to get stress is not being organized. Many college students is not able to organize their work and priorities. New students in college get difficult to manage their classes, documents, assignment and all the paperwork without teachers and parents guidance.

Competition is another cause to get stressed. There are many talented students come from different area and its tougher competition than high school level. Students' career depends on their grade so to gain the better grade students might feel more pressure.

The next possible reason for the stress is workload. Many college students don't realize that this is not high school. Students have to work for their bills, food, apartment rent, car installment, and stationary, also they have to maintain their study. Lots of assignments, presentation, and tests along with job create so much stress. It is very hard to manage their workload smoothly.

Not being organized, tough competition, and workload are the three major cases for the stress. It's right time to solve these cases, also at least we have to try to find out the solution by any alternate ways; otherwise, it is very critical situation if students keep dropping their classes because of stress. In the future, the country could be in trouble because of illiterate citizens. We have to discover the way to rid off the stress and ideas to encourage students for continuing their study such as more flexible financial aid and scholarship.

Nepalese and American Societies

There are many differences and similarities between American and Nepalese societies. Both societies have lots of similarities, which help us to adjust in each other's culture. Many major festivals, geographical structure, education system and cultural diversity are the some common factors among American and Nepalese societies. On the other hand, there are many differences between these two societies. Marriage concept, parenting and generation handover are the major contrast parts between American and Nepalese societies.

Both Nepalese and American societies celebrate the most common festivals; such as, New Year, Christmas, Valentine Day etc. Gathering friends and family, arranging parties and outing are the celebrating styles how both societies do in the festivals. Another similar thing between these societies is the geographical structure of the country and diversity of people. Both has mountains, hills and flat lands, also lots of different culture and religion groups combine together. Another, the education system is same in both societies. Classification of the levels and grading systems are the same process in the both societies.

Marriage concept between American and Nepalese societies is totally different. In Nepalese society, if a couple marriages once they have to spend their whole life together, even there is unhappy relation, unmatched the ideas and thought or not satisfied with the partner. Mostly women are sacrificing life thinking that their life style already fixed by God or their Karma. On the other hand, in American society, people don't want to do compromise in their life. If they are not happy with their partner, they might separate immediately. The next big difference is parenting and generation handover tradition. In the Nepalese society, parents take care their son and daughter for the whole life and they hand over all the property to their kids before they die, but in contrast, American society force to leave parents shelter when kids reach eighteen years old. After teenager, American struggle and become independent themselves, also they don't expect their parents money and property.

In my point of view, I like an American society. Even though they divorced many times in their life, they are free and independent. They don't have to sacrifice their whole life in unsatisfied matters. Also, kids learn to struggle and they get a chance to understand the value of life.

The Effect Of Job Loss On Mental Health

A good job is very important to human for maintain and organize their life perfectly. When one has a job, you make money that can sustain your needs or wants and provide everything the person and whole family’s desire. Job plays vital role in our life to make happy or satisfied, but suddenly loosing a job is not a pretty thing in our life. Losing a job unexpectedly might bring lots of problems in our life. The effects of losing a job can affect the whole family a lot. It can make harder our life and might effect in our psychological health.

Losing job creates financial problems in the family. Lacking of regular income can bring lots of problems. It is hard to pay apartment rent, insurance, groceries and most initial things in our daily life because of job loss. Most families have no emergency savings to use if they become jobless. As a result, many families turn to food storerooms or state assistance programs just so that they can eat. It is this struggle for the simple essentials in life that leads to added worries.

Losing job can experience different kinds of psychological problems such as depression, anxiety, fear and many more. It makes so complicated to our life if we couldn't handle unemployment time in the right way. Depression and anxiety can cause a person to change emotions and behavior. It can lead to the end of a marriage or changes in the relationships between people. As a consequence worse mental health might ruin your life.

Losing job is a big problem in our life and it's not easy to face in unemployment period. We might lose our social status and reputation along with losing jobs. Society can change their prospect of view in our life when we lose jobs. Most of the jobless people involved in alcohol and drugs to skip their mental torture; in addition, they may involve in criminal activities to get easy money. In conclusion, losing job creates many problems in mental health and it leads to ruin our life.

Qualities Of A Successful Student

A country became more capable if there are educated citizens. Today's students are tomorrow educated citizens, yet more than fifty percent of students can't get their goal. Students discontinue their education for many reasons and most of them have a lack of effective qualities. In my opinion and many researches indicates that successful students should have at least these qualities: attitude, ability, and self-discipline.

Student's attitude is the most important quality to become a success. Who give more attention in class, even there is not interested topics can be a successful student; furthermore, successful students always eager to learn something new. If we give attention and interest on something, it is very easy to understand and retain in mind for a long period.

Ability is another factor, which is required for successful students. Ability gives a variety of meanings, but in this case learning capacity, creativity, and knowledge implement known as ability. Students should be competent for the critical analysis and creative thoughts. However, a student has a lot of knowledge and creative ideas, it is useless unless he/she is learning how to use his expertise.

It's not easy to be a successful student. Successful students obviously linked to career and life, so successful in students never fails in the rest of the life. Self-discipline is the main key to become lucrative. Student's life most initial part is organizing their time. Effective time management skills lead to a fruitful way of life. In addition, students should give attention to assignment due dates and should contribute extra time for revision course contents.

In my opinion, most of the students became a failure on the way because they don't get the main point. One of the famous quotes, "Students are the pillar of the nation", shows that how much critical students are. But I want to add only the wealthiest students are essential, not all the students. To sum up, students could make their life worthwhile and prosperous if they adopt these foremost qualities.

Changes in Men's and Women's Roles

Changes in men's and women's roles seem awkward and intolerable, but it helps us to learn each others responsibilities and complications. Women's main role is to take care the children and house management. When men start babysitting, women can go outside for the work; men change the baby diaper, do the shower for baby, feed them and play with them whole days. We can imagine that one of the bore things is to play with different kinds of toys and watch the cartoon movies with kids; on the other hand, military and hard labor work may be difficult for the women, too. Men should clean the house and cook the food when women go out to the job; furthermore, men should do the shop, grocery, wash, iron and perhaps mend the family's clothes. Women also have lots of responsibilities if they act as men; for example, women have to arrange all the family expenses, rebuild the broken house, organize the summer vacation plan and manage the debt and future security deposit, yet it is the interesting part that they could go bar and casino or a strip dance where men show the erotic performance. As the same way, few neighbor men meet together and backbiting others and talk about the TV serial, also they exchange the clothes and foods. We always think and complain that our opposite gender has less responsibilities and easy life, but when we change the roles each other we may realize that others roles and importance.

It is easy to drive a teacher crazy if you follow these simple steps. The first step is to arrive late in the class. You have to repeat the same thing regularly without any notice and reason, which helps to make crazy for your teacher. Then, talk with your friends and text on the mobile while teacher is teaching. Do not focus on the lecture and don't react questions what the teacher asked. Keep talking to friends and texting on the mobile, which can distract the other students and your teacher too. This is the most effective idea to make your teacher crazy. The next step is not submitting the homework on the due date. If you do only one time you may get excused, so repeat it more than twice. Finally, ask the stupid questions, while teacher is teaching. Questions should be unrelated with courses or meaningless. After you follow all these steps carefully, your teacher becomes crazy. Prepare yourself mentally to get suspense or maybe getting low grades on the final test. Good luck for your dark future.

Living in a small town has several advantages. First of all, fresh food products are the main advantage of living in a small town. For instance, in small town, people produce vegetables and fresh foods on their own farms. Second, usually small towns are peaceful, quite and beautiful. People get peace on mind when they live there. For example, river, lake and forest show the natural beauty. Bird's sound, river's sound and fresh air help to reduce the stress and make relax. Finally, people have unity in small town. They help each other and work together. Such as if someone needs help in neighborhood, whole neighbors will be ready to help and support. A PLACE FROM MY CHILDHOOD

There was a school in front of my house. The school was very old wooden house, many small holes in the roof and no colors on the walls. It seems like an older style black and white TV. I was starting my pre-elementary education in that school. There was a very big ground with growing grasses. We need to be careful every time we play there because neighbors always left free their animals on the ground for feeding. On the corner of the ground, there were two very big old trees. Many crows and bats were living in those trees. I was scared in the night, because it looks like a horror movies or ghost story’s scene. There was not compounded around the school so after the school, we used to play there until the very evening. We knew there was a broken window on the backside of the school. Secretly, we went inside one by one and used to play hide and seek. When I remember my childhood school, feels like I was in the ancient age.

The Park Near My House

The park near my house is full of activity on a sunny weekend afternoon. I like to see all the activities from my window. It looks really beautiful and I do the fun watching this. At the park, there is a playground for the kids, pond and small cottages under the tree's shadow. At the entrance, varieties of beautiful flowers always ready to welcome visitors. Groups of kids play on the playground, which one is on the right side of the entrance. Next to the playground, paddle boats floating on the pond. A couple of gorgeous whites duck swimming in the center of the pond. I can see some guys playing loud music and making barbeque on the left corner. I think they are classmates. When I was in high school, I also used to go picnic with my friends. Every Sunday they remind me my old school days. Lovely couple reserves several cottages. I know one white man with hat; he always seats in the center of the park and draws the sketches. I really love my Sunday because I can peer different types of people and activities on the park from my window.

Consider these four factors when you choose a college. First, college should be located in near from your residence or transport continent location. For instance, if your college is far from you, or if your college location doesn't have to transport access, you will waste lots of time on the travel to go to the college. Second, you have to check the student graduation rates to check which college has a quality education. For example, students' success rates indicate the quality of college education. If you got the lower passed rate in the previous years, ignore that college. Third, compare the admission, tuition, lab and others all kinds of fees before you admit the college. For example, some colleges are taking a lot of money but avoid them because you can get, the more quality education and may be lower fees too. Finally, experienced teachers also the important factor when you want to choose a college. Teaching for the long period teachers know very well how to teach effectively. They got plenty of time to correct and improve their teaching methods. In conclusion, if you care for these four factors when you choosing a college, there is no doubt that you will get the right one.

An Unforgettable Day in My Life

I'll never forget that day I had an accident at the festival time. At that time, I was 12 years old. Everybody happy and everywhere were happy because that was the big festival day in my country. Like other countries in the world, my country has a huge festival called "Deepawali" and it's very similar with "Halloween". On that day during the night, a group of children visit their neighbor's houses and perform in front of them, in returns house owners give some money and foods. In the nighttime, my friends and I were going to neighbor's houses. At that time, there was no electricity in our village, so it's totally dark. We were carrying candles. My friends left me behind, so I ran after them. While I was running, the candle blew off because of the wind. Suddenly, it's become totally dark and I couldn't see anything around me. However, I knew the direction, so I began to run again. After a couple of hours, I found myself on the bed. Many people and relatives were talking in small voices and were looking at me. The Doctor was checking me. I had several wounds on my body. My nose fractured and I had a horrible pain badly. I was shocked, because I didn't know what happened to me. After a while somebody told me that I had an accident with one kind of chariot, which one is pulling by couple oxen. All the festival days, I was laying on the bed. I injured very dangerous and I felt so bad because I couldn't celebrate the festival. I do not forget that day in my life.

There are two reasons why beach communities are great places to live. A beach community offers recreation for residents of all ages. For adults, the beach is a great place to just relax or go for a walk. Teenagers can do sports, such as surfing and volleyball. Children love to splash in the water, jump in the waves, and play in the sand. It costs very little money to enjoy time at the beach. To enjoy the beach, people don't need to have anything special-just a swimsuit, a towel, and sunscreen. If you live near a beach, you can easily take a picnic lunch or dinner there. Often the parking is free or residents can get parking stickers. To sum up, beach communities offer great recreation at low prices.

Learning English

There are three main reasons for learning English language. First of all, I want to continue and complete my further education. For instance, in my home country, I have finished my two-year master degree, so I want to equivalent that and continue to complete. The second reason is that I want to grab the best opportunity. I loose lots of opportunities because of weaknesses in English. So, if I complete my English course and master degree I would get lots of choices in my career, such as an ESOL teacher, computer specialist or network administrator. A third reason is that I don’t want to be dependent with others. English language is most important in the daily life. If I am not perfect, I need to be dependent with someone who can speak English fluently. After I complete my English course, I will be able to do everything myself, for example, dealing with banking issues, go to the restaurants and bars, participating in community programs etc. For these three reasons, I want to become perfect in English language.

There are several reasons to spend your vacation in Nepal. First of all, world's tallest mountains are in Nepal. The world tallest mountain is the Mount Everest. Everest height is 8,848 meters. Third tallest mountain is the Kanchenjunga (8,586m) and fourth tallest mountain is the Lhotse (8,516m) also in Nepal. For instance, visitors can trek, hike and climb on the mountains. Nepal is the birthplace of Lord Buddha is the second reason. Buddha is also known as the founder of the Buddhist religion. Now, six percent of the world population is Buddhist. This shows Buddhism is the world's fourth largest religion. Visitors can see the Lord Buddha related stuff, such as his footprints, clothes and his handwritten quotes. A third reason is that the capital city Kathmandu is an ancient and richest city of culture. It is also known as temple city. More than ten thousand temples are there and lots of amazing cultures. Visitors can see varieties of cultures, for example, Living Goddess is one of those cultures. People pray virgin girl and believe that she has the divine energy of Devi according to Hindu religion. Because of its mountains, historical place and variety of cultures, Nepal is a great place to visit on your vacation.

My Dream

Beautiful, peaceful and luxurious house on the beach side is my dream house. It has three bedrooms, family living room, open kitchen and attached bathroom for each room. Each of my family members has a separate room including all the facilities like a luxurious hotel room. In the family living room, there are 72 inches TV, big family pictures and some historical pictures on the wall. The corner of the living room has a showcase of the antique things collection. Latest technologies like an automatic air conditioner; weather alert system, security camera, dishes and laundry washing machines are available in the house. In the morning, the first ray of the sun touches you on the bed; fresh air passing in each room and beautiful landscape views from the big windows makes my dream house perfect. There is a beautiful swimming pool in front of the house. All around the house is a nice garden with varieties of flowers and fruit trees. Barbecue oven, tents and some chair-tables are placed inside the garden. Beside the swimming pool, there is one basketball court and on the corner of yard one sweet small house for my dog. As small trees and bushes compound my house, it looks like a country style house. I feel like a heaven on the earth when I enter my dream house.

My Favorite Restaurant

On the Towson Town, my favorite restaurant is the Kathmandu Kitchen. It is located in the center of the town. It is near from my apartment and not so far from my job too. In front of the restaurant has lots of parking area. There are some tables under the shades of the trees. I love to sit there, because I can see people walking on the road, running motors and playing children in the park, next to the road. At the main entrance, there is always a person stands with a smiley face to welcome the guest. I can feel peace and relax when I enter the restaurant. Low volume instrumental music playing in the background, and dim lights are hanging above each table can give you the romantic feelings at the moment. On the wall, there are large sketches and silhouette images. Table clothes colors match with sky blue wall color. All the restaurant staffs are friendly. Wonderful service and great tasting foods are the main attractions. I am a regular customer of the restaurant since I came here. I always feel that I don't want to get out of the restaurant too early even though I spend a whole day.

You can raise a happy child if you follow my advice. First of all, health is the most important factor to raise a happy child. If your child is not healthy, they never become happy in their life. Moral education and discipline is the second step to raise a happy child. "Home is the first school, and parents are the first teachers." This is very popular quote in our society, and it's true. Child first impressed with their parents and house activities. So, be careful that what you are doing in front of your child. Now days, customer services have become the main concern of most of the restaurants. First of all, many restaurants in the city are seriously focusing on services. To provide friendly and familiar environment to the customers coming from different communities and cultures; they provide the server with similar from the customer. For example, when an Arabic customer comes to the restaurant, an Arabic server greets with 'Salaam Alaikum', and asks about the foods related to Arabic tradition. Then, restaurants try to deliver their services as fast as possible. Their main concern on the deliveries is how to provide fresh and quality food, so customers can feel that food is as same as restaurant dining. For example, Dominos guaranty that a customer's order will be deliverd within 30 minutes from the time of order. If they delivered later than 30 minutes, customers don't need to pay even a penny. In addition, now days restaurants are competing each other, so customers can get the best services. When customers finish their food; server provides the comment card with the bill, so customer can comment and suggest improving the weak points. Some of the restaurant managers come to the table and asks about the food and service. In brief, restaurants are trying to improve and provide better service than other competitors, so they can attract the more and more customers.

My father is generous and ideal person in my life. He has good ability to care his kids. I always get encourage from him what I like to do. He always does good manners and works front of me. So I got inspire with him. He was only one educated person in his village. There were lots of problems at that time. But he continued to struggle and finally got success to catch his dreams. He faced poverty and scarcity but didn't give up his aim. He didn't think of himself only. He tried to improve his village also. He became popular by teaching free to kids in the village. He starts a project to make literate villagers. My father is my Super Hero. I got lots of inspiration from his life.

My Ecotourism Experience In UAE

In 2009, I visited the United Arab Emirates (it's known as Dubai, however Dubai is one the states of UAE) for 2 years. I wasn't there only for the touring purpose. I have also a job in the restaurant, which one provides American, Chinese and Mexican food. So, I could stay there for the longest time. Otherwise, I couldn't afford all the expenses for the visit without any work. Before I visit Dubai I searched on the Internet about their culture, language and weather. It makes me little bit easier when I entered Dubai. I know already how to deal with people and I didn't get any surprise while women were wearing burkas (Muslim women's traditional custom, which covers from the head to the feet except eyes). When I serve customers in the restaurant, I always try to notice that, what kind of food they like and how they speak, how they behave to others etc. Every time when Arabic people come for the party women and men sitting separates. Women have one group and men have another group. For the while I am getting wondered that how they are enjoying if they sitting separate and without talk each other. But suddenly I thought that's their tradition and culture so I should respect them whatever they do. On my weekends I went desert safari. I saw their camels and classic Arabic community. Peoples use camels for the travels in the desert. They use to drink camel milk and use to eat camel's meat also. Camels are the main animal in Dubai. Camels can live longer without drinking the water so they became popular and important in the desert areas.
