The Neighborhood Assist funds will provide landscaping for the “Sego Lily.” Plantings on the earthen berm and concrete flood walls (that simultaneously form both the functional flood control system and sculptural flower image) speak to educational and environmental issues as well as local history. The plantings will promote urban agriculture, food crops presented within the context of a public park, as a reminder that our pioneer ancestors planted crops on their first day in the valley. Other native plantings provide wildlife food and habitat, while reducing the demand for irrigation. The needed landscaping mimics the colors and striping on Sego Lily petals while literally providing sustenance and patterns of sustainability.

Your Vote Can Complete Parley’s Trail

Vote for Proposition 1 to build parks and trails for Salt Lake County. Vote November 6, to approve the issuance of the Parks and Trails Bond. The bond would provide $9 million to complete Parley’s Trail, and a total of $47 million to complete several other regional parks and trails.
