This post was inspired by Kevin Kelly's captivating blog post called 1,000 True Fans.

Kevin Kelly basically suggests that artists only need to acquire 1,000 True Fans to make a living. I always thought that 1,000 fans was a stretch (until I read about the success of Amanda Palmer, Tim Schafer, and others via Kickstarter).

To make things easier I thought it would be wise to focus on how

Marketing Plan Ideas for your Music (Presented Through Tweets)

Imagine this, your album is finished and you are thinking of ways to market your album. You go through your phone contacts and you notice that you do not have any marketing friends. You start to panic a bit and wonder if your album release will be successful.

Unfortunately a lot of artists struggle with the marketing process. I have released material in the past without creating anticipation.

Freestyle Rap Better By Writing Down Rhyming Words

One of the key elements in your freestyle rap arsenal is the ability to rhyme. The more rhyming words you know the easier it is to flow fluidly without stumbling.

In the past I wrote a post about Rhyming Prompts. The basic idea of rhyming prompts revolves around writing down words that rhyme and coming back to them at a later date.

It is widely known that social media is one of the most powerful tools to promote your music nowadays. Artists that produce quality music but do not know how to reach the right people will most likely never be successful. Since there are more and more platforms and social media has been scaling up immensely, it’s hard to keep a clear focus.

Last October I wrote a blog entry about the power of Fiverr. I am amazed at the sheer entrepreneurial spirit that the site provides.

There are thousands of sellers on Fiverr that do crazy things for $5 dollars (Linsey Fryatt wrote an amazing article on this). I have been a member on Fiverr for about 7 months and I have bought over 20 gigs.

I decided to put together another post that highlights international production. This time I did a little research and found over 100 international beatmakers!

This post is inspired by this post: 32 International Beatmakers That Will Make You Pull Out The Pad And Pen.

I marvel at the expansive beatmaking culture. Production, in my opinion, is the backbone of hip-hop songs. Without production, hip-hop would be spoken word.

The establishment of the Red Bull Beat Battle, Louis Den, Weekly Beat Sessions, international exposure, and advanced technology has contributed to the international movement.

ANTHM popped up on my radar last year by dropping Joy & Pain. Two weeks ago ANTHM dropped the "1 Train Freestyle" which definitely caught my attention.
