All went well with my dad\’s gall bladder surgery this morning. Thank you for your prayers. Given that he\’s feeling well in the morning, I\’ll be meeting my family in Orlando area for a few days with Jill\’s family. Making for a nice week\’s vacation!

Please pray for my father who is having gall bladder surgery tomorrow (Thursday) in St Pete – Clearwater. His wife\’s health is iffy with good and not so good days so I\’m heading south to be with Dad for a couple of days.

Please keep Anna Neal\’s family in your prayers. Her nephew Jackson (age two years) passed away suddenly this past Saturday evening. Jackson\’s family lives in California. He was the only child of Anna\’s sister. This is a sad time for them so please pray that God will give them peace during this difficult time.

Sad news re: our brother Bill Walters. Bill died this (Saturday) morning at 1:49am. Robin tells me that her family\’s time with Bill these past few days was very sweet and valuable to them all.

The Walters family is planning a memorial service for Bill on Saturday morning, June 16 at PVUMC. Bill?s body is to be cremated with ashes to be placed in a niche at Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery; Robin is talking about having a brief committal service at the cemetery following the service at church and then going on to daughter Pam?s house from there.

No doubt Bill is enjoying the embrace of Christ his Savior. Let\’s pray now for God to wrap his loving arms around Robin and the rest of their family and friends who are missing Bill, including so many of their church family.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mike and Lynn Maple and their family with the passing of Lynn\’s mother, Ollie Evans, on Wednesday.

Bill Walters\’ condition was pretty much unchanged today. Members of his immediate family are gathered around him, to his comfort, I\’m certain, and also to theirs.

Please continue to remember Bill, Robin, their children, grandchildren and friends in your prayers.

I received a call today from Robin Walters. Bill (whom I just visited yesterday) took a turn for the worse last night.

Bill is well cared for at Heritage Crossings and is under hospice care also. Bill & Robin\’s daughter Pam is with them; son Todd is to fly in late this (Wednesday) afternoon.

Please pray for peace and grace for Bill as he may be on the final leg of this part of his life\’s journey. Pray for that \”peace that passes understanding\” for Bill\’s family.

I did leave a phone message for Chris Selm over the weekend. (Chris was the gentleman who said he was facing prison time for being behind in his child support payments.) I haven\’t yet heard back from Chris.

Let\’s praise and thank God for the incredible work done by our 12 teams on last Sunday\’s Serve Day. We pray \”thy kingdom come, thy will be done\” and we saw a bit more of God\’s kingdom coming on earth as people really stepped up to the plate to serve Christ. I am so proud of our salty servants!

Included in my thanks are our servant leaders: the Missions Committee led by Sharon Kehoe, Teaching Pastor Jimmy Jones who is the staff person relating to missions, and the leaders of the 12 projects.

I\’m also celebrating our own Troop 288 who worked with the hospitality volunteers to feed those who served and then returned for a truly awesome cookout.

187 people served on Sunday. Can\’t wait to see the photos! (We\’ll show these before / after each worship service Sunday.)
