The post Something Great To Celebrate With Zany Zoo first appeared on Pretty Inkspirations.

]]> Hello Crafters!

Today I have a fun and colorful card using the Zany Zoo bundle. There are so many ways to use this stamp and die combo to create some cute cards.

The set comes with images of animals dancing, singing, knitting, bicyling and 3 sentiments. The dies are just as much fun to play with. Create your own stage with curtains for your talented animals or use the stage for something else. There are flowers, table, trees, balloons, clouds, scallop border and all the images can be die cut. There’s also a coordinating patterned paper pack.

Make a tag or wrap a gift with the paper as seen in the catalog.

I wanted to make a colorful card for my grandson’s birthday and what better way than circles with vibrant colors. To create the circles I made a template out of circle dies in four different sizes, but only used three as you can see from the picture below. Blending brushes were used to sponge the circles.

If you don’t have circle dies, you can easily create a template from punches or make a template out of different shapes. If you haven’t made a template, I challenge you to try it and see what kind of background you come up with.

I used a black circle to make the alligator pop or it would’ve gotten lost with the background. The patterned paper at the bottom is from the Zoo Crew pack. A side border was created by sponging the same colors as the circles and then stamped the confetti.

Card Details

Want to duplicate this card? Measurements and colors are below.

 • Card base – Pool Party 10″ x 4-1/4″ scored at 4-1/2″
 • Inside white cardstock 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″
 • White front layer 4-1/4″ x 4″
 • White side strip 3/4″ x 4″
 • Black front layer cardstock 4-3/8″ x 4-1/8″
 • Black inside side strip 7/8″ x 4-1/8″
 • Zoo Crew patterned paper – 1″ x 4-1/4″
 • Circles were sponged with Pool Party, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight inks
 • Sentiment, alligator and confetti stamped with Memento Black ink
 • Alligator image was colored with Stampin’ Blends – Granny Apple Green, Mossy Meadow, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Pebbled Path

To finish the card I stamped the sentiments from two different stamp sets – Irresistible Blooms and the Zany Zoo. I’m looking forward to playing more with this bundle.

]]> Hello!

For today’s post, I’m participating in the Freshly Made Sketches #596 challenge. Every once in a while I need some inspiration to get me going especially since I don’t have my own space right now until my house is built. I’m working out of containers and being the organized person I am, that in itself is a challenge! Although I don’t have the room to have everything in its own place, I am grateful that I can still create.

Here’s the challenge sketch.

Although I really like the clean look, I don’t consider myself a clean stamper that leaves lots of white space so I’m challenging myself.

I’ve been wanting to make a card with the Bird’s Eye View since I got it and this was the perfect challenge for it. This is a fun set to play with using it in various ways using the eye glasses, birds, books, leaves and branches.

Card Details

I did some masking with the books and owl using the masking paper. An alternative would’ve been to simply use the stencil first then fussy cut the books. Here are the details to the card.

 • Thick White cardstock 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
 • White cardstock 5-1/4″ x 4″
 • Basic Black cardstock 2″ x 4″ for bottom; 1-5/8″ x 5/8″ sentiment
 • Owl, glasses and books were stamped with Memento Black ink
 • Books colored with watercolor pencils and blender pen – Gorgeous Grape, Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy
 • Owl colored with Light & Dark Crumb Cake blends
 • Books and owl were masked and then I sponged memento black ink over the Artistic Mix Decorative Mask. (You can see other cards with this stencil here, here and here.)
 • Sentiment was stamped with VersaMark, embossed with white embossing powder, heat set and popped with dimensionals.

]]> Today we’ll continue creating with the Coffee With Friends set. If you missed yesterday’s post, you’ll see the other woman image from the set. I like creating scenes and this set makes it easy to do that.

Masking

I wanted to create a scene in a park on a sunny day so I made the sun by negative masking.

Negative masking is when you die cut or punch an image and use the paper as your mask.

To create the sun, die cut or punch a small – medium circle on masking or copy paper and place the circle negative mask where you want it on the cardstock you’ll be stamping the scene. You can discard the die cut or punched circle or simply save it for another project. (You can use it to create a moon with the mask!)

Sponge the inside of the circle as light or deep a color you want. Remove the cardstock and your sun is complete. Tip – whichever tool you use to create your circle negative, make sure there’s enough paper around it so when you sponge the inside, you won’t get excess ink outside the circle.

Card Details

 • Card base – Flirty Flamingo 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
 • Basic Black layer 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″
 • White cardstock – 5-1/4″ x 4″
 • Image and sentiments stamped with Memento Black ink
 • Grass with flowers from the Grassy Grove stamp set was inked with Garden Green and sponged with Parakeet Party ink using blending brush
 • Flowers were colored with Orchid Oasis, Fresh Freesia and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends
 • Bench was colored with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends
 • Women – Medium Blends, Basic Black, Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Pebbled Path, Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake
 • A retired champagne rhinestone was added to the pony tail holder
 • The retired Layering Circles was used to die cut the circle and negative sponged with Lemon Lolly ink

The post Coffee With Friends – Thinking of You & Masterfully Made first appeared on Pretty Inkspirations.

]]> Today’s post features the Coffee With Friends stamp. I’ve mentioned before that I don’t drink coffee or tea yet I like images of people holding coffee mugs or images with coffee and/or tea. It always stirs a homey feeling.

I combined the Coffee with Friends with the Masterfully Made patterned paper. The paper is gorgeous with realistic hand painted and hand torn designs. It has vibrant colors and has lots of dimension and texture to it without the weight. You can’t see the detail of the paper on this card since it’s behind the scalloped cardstock but the sections that you do see compliment the image well.

The Coffee With Friends set comes with three images and six sentiments. I like the images because I believe they can be used for different occasions for friends and family. The sentiments are encouraging but to be honest I wish the fonts were a bit larger so it’s easier to read.

Class Details

Let’s get to the details of this card.

 • Card base – Granny Apple Green
 • White cardstock 4″ x 5-1/4″ embossed with Exposed Brick Folder
 • Scallop cardstock die cut from the Scalloped Contour dies
 • Masterfully Made paper 5″ x 2″
 • Basic Gray cardstock
 • Image stamped with Memento Black and colored with Stampin’ Blends: Dark Flirty Flamingo, Dark Smoky Slate, Light Pebbled Path, Dark Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Granny Apple Green, and Light and Medium Light
 • Old Olive was sponged around the bottom of image
 • Sentiment stamped with Memento Black; cardstock mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

By My Side

Today’s card features the By My Side stamp set. Having six grandchildren, I like having images of kids in my stamp collection. It’s an adorable set but it also has sentiments that can be used for various occasions.

There are sentiments for friendship, encouragement, celebration, and love. Who wouldn’t like to receive a card with one of these sentiments?

 • Life is better with friends like you
 • Hi, sweet friend
 • Thank you for being a part of my life
 • Nice to have you by my side

 • Thinking of you today
 • Here for you

There are no coordinating dies or punches for this set.

Card Details

Did you know that many times you can use parts of an image to create a background like I did on this card? I stamped the top of the girl’s hair on each of the three strips to create a more whimsical look.

 • Card base – Highland Heather 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″
 • White cardstock 4″ x 5-1/4″
 • Three Flirty Flamingo strips cut at 1″ x 3″ and stamped with Flirty Flamingo ink
 • The circles were cut from the retired Layering Circle dies, but you can use any circle to create this card
 • Sentiment and image were stamped with Memento Black. The image was colored with Highland Heather and Flirty Flamingo and the Medium light and Deep Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends.
 • An iridescent jewel was added to her hair and rosy cheek was colored with Flirty Flamingo

In today's post you'll see how easy it is to make a lovely card with this set.

The post A Lovely Thank You Card With Darling Details first appeared on Pretty Inkspirations.

]]> Today’s card features the Darling Details set, one of the new stamp and die bundles from the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. This is a 2 step stamp as well as a Distinktive stamp. Just in case you’re not sure what a distinktive stamp is, it’s a type of stamp that creates a photo realistic image due to the special texture it has and also adds dimension.

Just like yesterday’s stamp set, this set is a good beginner’s set. It’s a photopolymer stamp so placement of image is easy.

The Darling Details stamp is a floral stamp with various sentiments that can be used for birthdays, encouragement, friendship, thank you, or just to say hello.

In addition to the dies that cut the stamp images, there are three stitched doily type borders that I’m sure you’ll love. It’s actually what caught my attention when I first saw it. I love anything with the stitched look!

Darling Details Samples from the Catalog

Isn’t this cute? The edge die cuts are layered to create a fringe type look.

The pink card uses the doily edge by itself.

Today’s Card Details

 • Card base – Basic Thick White 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
 • White cardstock die cut with largest doily scalloped die
 • Background was lightly sponged with Lemon Lolly and Bubble Bath inks
 • Large flower stamped with Moody Mauve ink (both images) and mounted with dimensionals
 • Leaves and smaller flowers die cut from white cardstock and sponged with Old Olive, Moody Mauve and Lemon Lolly
 • Thank You sentiment stamped with Moody Mauve.
 • Doily border adhered to card base with dimensionals on each corner
 • Die cuts adhered with glue dots.
 • Iridescent rhinestones added to center of flowers.

What do you think of the 2 step, Distinktive stamps? Do you like the look of these type of stamps?

It's easy to stamp images exactly where you want them. All you need is stamp, ink & paper to create a quick card.

The post Sweet Songbirds, A Great Stamp for Beginners first appeared on Pretty Inkspirations.

]]> Happy Thursday!

The Sweet Songbirds set is such a cute set. What’s not to love about music notes, branches, flowers, wooden sign, string, bird’s nest, and the birds with two sets of eyes to choose from? Not only are those images part of the set but so are several sentiments you can use anytime. To top it all of, it has a coordinating builder punch.

This stamp set is great for beginner stampers or if you simply want to make quick cards. There’s no coloring, just use your ink pads. It’s a photopolymer stamp so you see exactly where to place your image on the cardstock which means no guessing work. The stamp set is not new as it was in last year’s Annual Catalog but it’s still one of my favorites.

Imagine all the ways you can use this set. You can choose just to stamp the branches with leaves and not include a bird. Use the music notes or small flowers for a background. Stamp multiple wood signs close together to create a top or bottom border or even a fence. Stamp two birds for an anniversary card. Create a thank you card with A little Note of Thanks sentiment and music notes for the music teacher or music lover in your life.

Some of the set’s sentiments also work well together for the outside message to continue inside. Here are a few:

 • A little bird told me . . . it’s your special day or You’ve got something to celebrate!
 • Welcome . . . so happy you’re here!
 • It’s your special day . . . Congratulations

Card Details

I started this card by sponging the white scalloped cardstock with Sweet Sorbet, Lemon Lolly and Parakeet Party inks to give it a sweet colorful background. To give the card dimension, I stamped the nest with Early Espresso ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock, cut the nest with scissors and added dimensionals.

The branches were stamped with Early Espresso ink and the flowers and bird were stamped with Sweet Sorbet. Lemon Lolly ink was used for the bird’s breast and beak.

 • Music notes and bird’s eyes stamped with Momento Black ink
 • wooden sign and sentiment were stamped with Early Espresso ink
 • White Card base – 4-1/4″ x 11 scored at 5-1/2″
 • Beak adhered with glue dot and wing with mini dimensionals
 • iridescent rhinestones added to the center of the flowers

What do you think of this set? Can you think of other ways this set’s images can be used? Here’s a challenge for you . . . Next time you pick up a stamp, try to look beyond its “normal” use. Look to see how you can use it in different ways.

Thanks for stopping by . . . till next time . . .

The post Sending Smiles with Foursquare Masks Watercolored Look first appeared on Pretty Inkspirations.

]]> Masks, Masks, Masks! This is my last post featuring the masks. I hope you have enjoyed these posts and are ready to make them part of your crafting. I’ve covered just a few ways you can use the masks, but there’s more you can do with them as I mentioned in my first post.

If you want dimension with your masks, use embossing paste – it really makes it pop. I was hoping I could share a card with the embossing paste, but unfortunately, it’s in storage and haven’t been able to get to the storage place.

Today’s focus is using water with the mask.

In my first card, I used blending brushes to create the background. The second card below I used a water painter’s brush to apply the ink on watercolor paper.

Do you see the difference between the background of these two cards? They both used one of the Foursquare masks. Although they both used the Pretty Peacock ink, the watercoloring on the bottom card gives the background a more muted look.

The How To

Lay your stencil on watercolor paper and secure it so it won’t move. With a wet but not dripping water painter’s brush, pick up some ink and brush on the stencil. Try to keep the brush on top of the stencil so that the water won’t seep underneath.

I kept my background one color to show you the difference between the blending and the watercolor look, but you can easily use various colors on your background.

Card Details

Both cards used the Sending Smiles stamp and Sending Dies – one of my favorite stamps!

Details for 1st card:

 • Card base – Pretty Peacock 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
 • White cardstock 5-1/4″ x 4″
 • Sentiment stamped with Pretty Peacock and punched with Happy Labels punch
 • Flowers: Calypso Coral, Lemon Lolly and Parakeet Party inks – die cut with Sending dies and mounted with Dimensionals
 • Iridescent Pastel Gems completed the card.

Details for 2nd card:

 • Card Base – Pretty Peacock 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
 • Watercolor paper 5-1/4″ x 4″
 • Sentiment stamped on a Tailor Made Tag with Pretty Peacock ink
 • Flowers: Petal Pink, Copper Clay, Old Olive inks were used.
 • To complete the card, Iridescent Pastel Gems and Linen Thread were used.
 • Tag mounted with Dimensioals

I encourage you to try some of the techniques using these masks. Once you start, you won’t want to stop! Which is your favorite way of using the masks? Leave me a comment and let me know.

More Artistic Mix Decorative Mask Cards

Today I’m continuing my series on the masks and I sure hope you’re not tired of them. Creating a partial background is one of my favorite ways to use the stencil.

All the cards in today’s post use the Artistic Mix masks.

How do we create this look? Instead of inking the entire mask like I shared with you in my previous posts, I used part of the mask. To give the edges a soft look, I kept the sponging light as I tapered off on the edges. You can see the other cards here, here, here and here.

Dainty Delight & Artistic Mix Mask

 • Card base Basic White Thick Cardstock 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
 • Moody Mauve layer 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″
 • White layer 5-1/4″ x 4″
 • The only stamp I used was Cottage Rose for the sentiment, a recently retired stamp
 • For the background, I sponged two of the stencils with Moody Mauve ink
 • The flowers were die cut from the Dainty Delight dies and sponged with Blackberry Bliss and center with Daffodil Delight inks; leaf and stems die cut from Soft Sea Foam cardstock
 • Happy Label Punch was used for the sentiment which was stamped with Memento Black ink and mounted with Dimensionals.
 • To finish the card, a pastel adhesive sequin was used.

I apologize for how dark this picture came out. I currently have a makeshift crafting area while my house is being built so I don’t have my usual lighting. I’ve been working on finding the right spot to take my pictures and I think I may have found a solution for my future projects.

Color Contour & Peaceful Moments

For the card above, I used the following:

 • Color & Contour stamp – flowers stamped in Memento Black; inside flower stamped with Poppy Parade and leaves colored with Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends.
 • Beside Me stamp for the sentiment stamped in Memento Black
 • Background was sponged with Soft Succulent
 • Card base – Soft Succulent
 • Gold swirl embellishments

With the last card, I placed the stencil at an angle for another partial background. Stencils are perfect when you want to make a quick card. Not only is it a quick card to make but makes a nice masculine card. The white cardstock was sponged with Night of Navy ink. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Black and I used the frame from the Fabulous Frames Dies (retired). A few red rhinestones were added to complete this simple card.

In my next post, I’ll share with you my last card using the masks to compare a brushed versus a watercolor look.

The post Foursquare Mask & Crafting With You – Sending Handmade Hug first appeared on Pretty Inkspirations.

]]> Today’s card features the Crafting With You bundle as well as the Foursquare Decorative Masks. The Crafting With You stamp and dies bundle was one of the first items in my Annual Catalog preorder. How can you be a crafter and not have this set?! Imagine all the cards you can make and send out to your crafting buddies or really anyone. This set is so versatile in what you can do with it.

The dies cut all the images in the stamp plus it includes additional craft related dies that you’re sure to love. It has a paper trimmer, spool and thread, embroidery hoop, stars, hearts, buttons and a ruler – they’re adorable.

The stamp set images include a sewing machine, yarn, basket, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine, paint brushes, easel, heart and four nice sentiments.

Background Detail

Let’s talk about the background. Each of the color blocks were inked with a blending brush and masked (covered) using copy paper to create a distinct separation between each of them. After I added the color blocks, I inked up two of the stencil images from the Foursquare masks with the same color ink in each block. Because the background was colorful, the images were stamped with Pebbled Path – one of the new In Colors. Love this neutral color!

Card Detail

 • Card base – Pebbled Path – 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
 • White cardstock for color blocks 5-1/4″ x 4
 • Color block colors: Lost Lagoon, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Lemon Lolly & Boho Blue
 • Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine was stamped with Pebbled Path ink onto a white stitched circle.
 • The sentiment strip is 3″ x 1-1/2″ and I believe stamped with Blueberry Bushel. I forgot to jot the color down as I was stamping. It was mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
 • The stampin’ trimmer was die cut with Pebbled Path cardstock using the Crafting With You dies.
 • Scissor handle was die cut from Pebbled Path cardstock and blades with Smoky Slate cardstock using the same dies.
 • An iridescent pastel gem was added to the scissors and mounted with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Today's post focuses on heat embossing with two different colors using one of the stencils from the Foursquare Decorative Masks.

The post How To Emboss Resist With Nature’s Prints & Foursquare Masks first appeared on Pretty Inkspirations.

]]> Did you know you can emboss stencil images? Take it another step by using the emboss resist technique. We’ll see how in today’s post as we continue exploring masks also known as stencils.

The last two posts featured creating an ombre look with the blending brushes and mask as well as layering 2 stencils. If you missed these posts, click here and here.

How Do We Do It?

 • First thing to do when embossing is rub cardstock with Embossing Buddy to remove all static.
 • Place mask over cardstock and press VersaMark ink firmly to get a good impression. To make sure your cardstock or mask doesn’t move, tape down your mask with temporary adhesive tape like washi tape or painter’s tape, etc.
 • Carefully remove mask and apply embossing powder to section you want embossed. Heat set with heat tool.
 • Brush ink over embossed image and wipe excess ink.

Card Details

 • Card base – Blueberry Bushel 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
 • White cardstock cut at 4″ x 5-1/4″ sponged with Soft Sea Foam and adhered to card base.
 • Using one of the Foursquare Decorative Masks place it over your cardstock; Apply VersaMark ink to entire cardstock.
 • Remove mask and apply white embossing powder to one half of the cardstock and gold powder to remaining half. Heat emboss.
 • Using blending brush, apply Blueberry Bushel ink to one section and Soft Sea Foam ink to the other.
 • Cut cardstock in half and then into 1/2″ strips.
 • Adhere strips staggered to card base.
 • Stamp flowers with Blueberry Bushel and color with Watercolor Pencils – Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, and Granny Apple Green.
 • Die cut label from the Natural Prints dies and stamp ‘Hello’ with Blueberry Bushel ink.
 • Adhere flowers and label to card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
 • Add an Iridescent Pastel Gem to each of the flowers.

Ready to try this technique? It’s easy and it’s a quick card to make.

Thanks for stopping by . . . till next time . . .

The post Celebrating Father’s Day With Beside Me & More Artistic Mask first appeared on Pretty Inkspirations.

]]> Hello Crafters!

Father’s Day is around the corner and so I’m using the stamp set, Beside Me, which lends itself perfectly for this occasion. It has some sweet father / child images and sentiments. In addition to the stamp, I’m using two other stencils from the Artistic Mix Decorative mask for the background. I love creating with these masks. It’s simple to use and gives your cards a big wow.

In my last post, I wrote about ways to use these masks. Today I want to share with you another card using the Artistic Mix Mask. This time I layered two stencils. Here’s how the background looks.

I sponged Copper Clay ink on top and Pecan Pie ink at the bottom. I intentionally left a gap between the two sections. After inking the first mask with blending brushes, I placed the second mask over the openings and sponged with Wild Wheat ink. As you can see, I only sponged the second mask at the two opposite corners.

Card Details

 • Pecan Pie card base 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
 • Background sponged using Pecan Pie, Copper Clay and Wild Wheat inks with the two of the masks from the Artistic Mix Masks set.
 • Image was stamped with Memento Black ink on white cardstock that was die cut from the Scalloped Contours die. Some parts of the image were colored with ink and blender pen (Crushed Curry, Boho Blue and Pecan Pie. Other parts with Pumpkin Pie, Light Basic Black and Ivory Stampin’ Blends.
 • Polka Dots on the hat were done with the Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend.
 • Birds stamped with Basic Gray ink.
 • Sentiment stamped with Memento Black ink.
 • Cardstock mounted onto card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

In my next post, I’ll share another way to use the mask using another set of stencils. I hope you will give them a try.

Go simple or layer them to create added depth and dimension.

The post Thinking of You Card With Artistic Mix Mask & Quiet Meadow first appeared on Pretty Inkspirations.

]]> Do you like creating with masks? I especially love using them to create different types of backgrounds. There are various ways to use them and depending on the look you’re going for determines which tools you use.

Here are a few ways to use the masks:

 • You can use them with embossing paste along with the palette knives
 • Use blending brushes or sponge daubers to apply ink to mask
 • Place the mask over a stamped image to create a layered look
 • Create a background filling the entire cardstock or just ink parts of the mask
 • Ink your mask with various colors
 • Watercolor with your mask – using watercolor paper and water painters, making sure not to let it seep under the mask
 • Use the masks with dies
 • Ink different masks for a layered look to give it more depth
 • Emboss by applying VersaMark to your mask
 • You can cover different parts of your decorative mask, especially when there are various images on the mask

One of the things to remember when using your mask is to secure it in place so that it doesn’t move as you apply ink. You can use washi tape, painter’s tape – any temporary adhesive.

Card Details

 • Thick Basic White card base is 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″.
 • Basic White cardstock 4″ x 5-1/4″
 • Since I wanted an ombre look, I placed the Artistic Mix Decorative mask on white cardstock and using Blending Brushes sponged from bottom to top with Cajun Craze, Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie and Pale Papaya (retired in color)
 • Sponged cardstock was embossed with the Timeworn 3D Embossing Folder
 • Flowers are from the Quiet Meadow stamp set and were stamped with Memento Black ink and colored with the following Stampin’ Blends – Granny Apple Green, Calypso Coral and Pale Papaya.
 • Flowers were die cut with the Meadow Dies and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
 • Sentiment stamped with Memento Black ink onto label from the Meadow Dies.
 • White baker’s twine colored with Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends

Stampin’ Up! has two sets of masks available:

The Artistic Mix Decorative Masks set comes with 5 stencils – 4 patterns and 2 labels for greetings.

The Foursquare Decorative Masks set comes with 4 unique background stencils. Both sets would make great additions to your craft collection. They’re inexpensive and there are many creative possibilities. Why not give them a try?

The post Exciting News & Friends Are Like Seashells Diorama Card first appeared on Pretty Inkspirations.

]]> Happy day stamping friends!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted here so I know I have a lot of catching up to do. I’ve been extremely busy preparing for a major house construction project and balancing everything has been a challenge. I don’t have an organized craft studio at the present time so working out of containers is something I need to get used to for now. To be honest, it’s not too motivating when you’re working on something and need to put it away before it’s done – only to start all over again next time. Yet, I’m grateful that I can have a few products with me to create and share with you.

In my upcoming posts, I’ll share with you a few cards that were either part of my class offerings or that I created to give away. Some incorporate retiring products.

Today’s card uses the retiring Friends are Like Seashells stamp, Seaside Seashell dies, Seashells 3D embossing folder and Layering Diorama dies as well as some retiring ink colors.

Color Refresh Exciting News

Before I get to the card details, let me share with you what you’ll be seeing in the upcoming Annual Catalog. Approximately every 5 years Stampin’ Up does a color refresh which means some ink colors are retired, some return and some new ones are introduced. This year eleven core colors will be retiring at the end of the month.

 • From the regals collection: Rich Razzleberry
 • From Subtles: Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Mint Macaron, So Saffron, Mango Melody
 • From Brights: Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point
 • From Neutrals: Sahara Sand, Soft Suede

In addition to the 11 core colors, the 2021-2023 In Colors will be retiring – Evening Evergreen, Polished Pink, Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent. Fresh Freesia will be returning as one of the core colors in the subtles collection.

Here’s the good news! Although these colors are retiring, some great colors are being added that will give the collections a fresh new look! Along with new colors, you may recognize some returning colors from previous years – Misty Moonlight, Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock, Lemon Lime Twist, Blueberry Bushel, Berry Burst. Remember those?

Are any of the retiring colors your favorite? Leave me a comment and let me know which color is your favorite or which color you’re happy to see returning.

Card Details

Let’s get to the details.

 • Card base – Bermuda Bay 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″
 • Coastal Cabana cardstock 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ – die cut with Layering Diorama dies and adhered to card base
 • Basic White cardstock – 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ front layer die cut with Layering Diorama dies
 • From largest to smallest, I used the 4th & 6th diorama dies for the card
 • Opal Round Gems for the embellishments
 • Sentiment was stamped with VersaMark and embossed with white powder using heat tool.
 • Seashells were stamped with Crumb Cake ink and added color was done with blender pens using the following inks: Bermuda Bay and pool party
 • Star and sand dollar were stamped with Memento black ink; used Soft Suede ink for star; petal pink and Sahara Sand for sand dollar
 • Palm trees are from the Timeless Tropical retired set. Trees were stamped with Old Olive and Soft Suede

The post Watercolor Shapes With SAB Amazing Phrasing first appeared on Pretty Inkspirations.

]]> Yesterday was the last day for Sale-A-Bration. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to post this card before it ended. It’s a fun card that can be used for special celebrations like graduation, or any other special occasion that needs to be celebrated.

To create this card, I used two stamp sets – Sale-A-Bration’s Amazing Phrasing for the sentiments and the Watercolor Shapes found in the Annual Catalog.

You can see more cards using the Watercolor Shapes here, here and here.

Using the Parakeet Party, Orchid Oasis and Daffodil Delight inks, I stamped my circles randomly to create this fun background. Because it’s colorful, I kept the card base and layer neutral. You can create some fun cards with both these stamps. The Amazing Phrasing set has 17 sentiments that can be combined in multiple ways to create your message.

Card Details

 • Card Base – Thick White cardstock 4-1/4″ x 11″
 • Basic Black cardstock 5-1/4″ x 4
 • Basic white cardstock 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″
 • Black baker’s twine was used to complete the card.

The post A Friendship Card With Hello Ladybug & Punch first appeared on Pretty Inkspirations.

]]> Here’s another card from my draft folder that we made in one of my classes earlier this year. Today’s card is a trifold featuring the Hello Ladybug stamp set.

What makes it a trifold? When you open the card, there’s another cardstock inside that also opens where you can stamp or write your message. You have 3 panels – front and the 2 inside panels.

This set has been around since the January – June 2022 catalog and was carried over to the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. The set coordinates with the Ladybug Builder Punch.

Card Details

Card Details

 • Card Base – Melon Mambo 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
 • Basic White Cardstock – 4″ x 10-3/4″. This gets adhered to card base with opening to the left.
 • The flowers were stamped with Melon Mambo ink directly onto front of card base.
 • Circles were die cut with the layering circle dies.
 • White cardstock was centered on card base. With it closed, I traced opening very lightly with a pencil. This allows me to stamp the hello greeting and leaf in the right location so it could be seen through the opening. After stamping, I erased the pencil mark.
 • At the bottom of the cardstock, a ladybug was stamped with Memento Black and shell with Melon Mambo.
 • Other ladybug wings were stamped with Melon Mambo ink and Pool Party. Dots stamped with Memento Black ink. Ladybug wings and body were punched with the Ladybug Builder Punch.
 • Iridescent Basic Jewels were added to front of card base.

Isn’t this set adorable?
