DIY: Sugar Scrub

1 cup organic demerara sugar (or any other coarse sugar will work)
1-2 tsp organic unrefined coconut oil
2 tsp organic shredded coconut

Mix shredded coconut and sugar in a small bowl, stir until blended. Heat coconut oil in a small pot just until melted. Pour coconut oil over sugar and shredded coconut, you'll notice it liquefies some of the sugar. With a fork or spoon, stir oil into the sugar mixture. It will start to spread. Continue until the sugar is all one consistency.

To use: Apply a small amount to areas you want to exfoliate and moisturize.

How To Fix Broken Eyeshadow

What you need:

A pair of gloves
Isopropyl Alcohol (Rubbing alcohol) 70% the higher the better
Broken Eyeshadow
Quarter
Spatula
Tissue
2 Small Containers
Dropper

Put your gloves on, pour out the Isopropyl Alcohol into a smaller container, you do not need a lot, just enough to mix the shadow with it to create a paste, more is not necessarily better. Next, scrape out the broken Eyeshadow with the spatula into a small container. With a dropper pick up the Isopropyl Alcohol and drop 2-3 drops into the shadow, every shadow is different and uses different amounts of alcohol. Mix it around with the spatula until it has become a paste.

Pour the Eyeshadow paste into the palette, wrap a tissue around a quarter and gently press the shadow and hold it for a few seconds. Allow 1-2 hours to dry.

And Voila, you have fixed your broken Eyeshadow!

The first time I did the Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism DVD ($10), I thought I was going to die. Made to heighten heart rates and torch calories, Jillian’s 45-minute workout begins with a warm up, which is then followed by seven 5-minute circuits and a cool down. Each of the circuits is comprised of a series of 30-second exercises, and the workout doesn’t require any equipment to do; just a small space on the floor to move around and a yoga mat. The circuits include plyometrics, kick boxing, and high impact aerobics. Unlike her other workouts, it requires no hand weights. But don’t be fooled: each circuit blasts a different part of the body. Your muscles will feel it, especially in the legs. It’s probably the toughest workout DVD I own. The DVD menu allows you to play the entire workout, or to select individual circuits. Unless you’re super fit, you’ll probably want to work your way up to completing all seven circuits in a row.

The Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism workout

Warm up: arm circles, toe touches, arm swings and jogging in place
Circuit one: squatting side kicks on the right side, squatting with alternating punches, squatting side kicks on the left side, a jab-cross-hook-elbow combination and alternating front kicks
Circuit two: burpies, plie hops (the former dancer in me loves these, they totally make your butt burn), a punch-hop combination, 180-degree jumps and single-leg hops
Circuit three: butt kicks, high knees, jumping jacks, oblique crunches on the right side and oblique crunches on the left side
Circuit four: mountain climbers, lower back and leg raises, pike crunches, oblique twists and a walking plank
Circuit five: swing kicks, uppercuts, back kicks, squatting with a jab-cross combo and knee crunches
Circuit six: jump squats, cross-country skiing, scissor kicks, skaters and standing mountain climbers
Circuit seven: twisting jumps, standing ab crunches, knee crunches on the right side, knee crunches on the left side and jump rope
Cool down: a five minute cool-down stretch

This wasn’t my first workout with Jillian. I’d been using her 30 Day Shred DVD for a while, so I thought I knew what to expect from this one. But boy oh boy, was I wrong! With Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism, Jillian takes workouts to the next level!

If you're looking to moisturize your skin this winter, then stop by your nearest drugstore and pick up the new Garnier Nutrioniste Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream!

The Garnier Gel-Cream is hands down the most refreshing and moisturizing gel I've ever tried (drugstore and higher end). The smell reminds me of cucumber melon, fresh smelling but not over powering and it fades within five minutes. Take note that I do have normal/oily skin but I do believe this product can work wonders for every skin type. I've been using this moisturizer for almost a month and I've noticed an overall improvement in my skin, it's brighter and a lot more moisturized.

If you've ever tried Clinique's Moisture Surge ($34 for a 1.7 fl oz), then this is VERY comparable to it (except this one has a scent and is a bit more watery). Personally, I like this a lot more because it's cheaper, easily available, and your skin absorbs it really quickly.

I highly recommend Garnier Moisture Rescue to those using a lot of chemical exfoliants. Those who wear makeup, with oily skin and anyone who wants a frill free moisturizer that makes your skin feel comfortable and gets rid of the flakes of dry patches.

L'Oreal Everstrong Overnight Repair Treament Review

This is the newest product in the L'Oreal Everstrong line. It's a leave-in, overnight conditioning treatment. According to the bottle, it's packed with a "Bio-Ceramide Complex" that helps restore the hair's strength and resiliency. It's a gel-cream consistency, and you are supposed to apply 1-2 pumps to the hair at night. I have learned that if I apply about two pumps while my hair is still a little bit damp & then curl it, the curl will hold up to three days! I still have to use my beloved L’Oreal EverPure Moisture Deep Restorative Masque. But my hair looks less damaged, feels softer, and looks healthier. It also frizzes less and looks GORGEOUS! This is a definite must have!
