Following up Vivaldi's Allegro (Flute Concerto in G minor 'La Notte'), here is another musical masterpiece that has been inspiring me very much. It is the Toccata in D minor by Bach, composed in 1709.

This piece always reminds me of Guru's organ concerts. With utmost respect to Bach, I hope to be forgiven if I say I appreciate, love and adore Guru's own performances by far, very far.

Vyasa the son of Parsara, after the arrival of his puissant son, continued to dwell there on the Himavat (Himalayas) engaged in teaching his disciples and his son. One day, as he was seated, his disciples, all well skilled in the Vedas, having their senses under control, and endued with tranquil souls, sat themselves around him. All of them had thoroughly mastered the Vedas with their branches. All of them were observant of penances. With joined hands they addressed their preceptor in the following words.

Interesting pangrams are generally short; constructing a sentence that includes the fewest repeat letters possible is a challenging task.

Today, 23 February, is John Keats' passing anniversary. He was snatched away at the young age of 26 (he would have been 27 on 31 October 1821).

I have to thank Sri Chinmoy for knowing Keats. Because of Guru's work Philosopher-Thinkers: The Power-Towers Of The Mind And Poet-Seers: The Fragrance-Hours Of The Heart In The West I became quite sensitive to Keats poetry.

One day I will write about how that book touched and changed my life. For now, here is a section from the volume related to Keats:

Striving for the best coffee in the world

Kanan pointed out this article about Ernesto Illy, chairman of Illycaffè and maker of one of the best commercial brand of coffee in the world. He was renowned as a scientific perfectionist of coffee and especially as an evangelist of espresso.

Even if I do not drink coffee much anymore (if you follow any spiritual path, coffee is quite bad for you ) I admire Mr. Illy's acute sense of perfection and striving for excellence in his art.
