Have you ever talked on your cell phone in a public area, such as a library, bus, restaurant? Yep, me neither, which is why I am writing this post. Today, I saw something that I’ve never see before. Sure, I have seen people talking in inappropriately confined spaces, but this was something new altogether. I photographed the MVKWA event at Nutter Center today and during the National Anthem, this guy pulls out a cell phone and starts a conversation. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but there was no urgency in his voice, such as “…You were in an accident…?” or “…You didn’t tell me you were pregnant…” or “What do you mean SCOTUS rejected our Amicus Curiae?. Instead it was “Yea, sure, Ok. I’ll meet you there…” this went on for almost the entire Anthem at which point the guy said, “I have to go because they are playing the NATIONAL ANTHEM”. Seriously???? Again don’t be that guy!!!!

Springboro Senior Night vs Fairborn

Today, was the Senior Night for five Springboro Basketball Players. Matriculating Seniors are #10 Scott White, #11 Jason Stinebaugh, #15 Cory Hemmelgarn, #22 Adam Patton, and #30 Michael Tepe. Also, graduating were three Senior Cheerleaders, Lindsay Webster, Julia Roy, and Chelsea Buechler. Here are the ladies with their families:

Lebanon vs Springboro Round 2 Basketball

Last night was the basketball rematch pitting the two cross-town rivals of Springboro and Lebanon. The first round, three weeks ago, went to Springboro and last night Lebanon returned the favor by defeating Springboro 44-43 in the last seconds of the game. Springboro Panthers Wrestlers are 2010 GWOC Champions

Just a quick note about the GWOC event that I photographed today at the Trent Arena. It was a snow shortened event so instead of a day day affair, it actually turned into a marathon wrestling session with all GWOC teams going through preliminaries, semis and then finals. I showed up at 7:30AM to setup my lights and left at 8:30PM following the awards ceremony. Here is the image of the winning Panther team. More images to follow.

Springboro High School Panthers are 2010 GWOC Swimming Champions

Two day GWOC swimming championship concluded on Sunday at Trotwood HS. The Springboro High School won the GWOC South. Here are some choice pics as well as a LINK to all 4,500 images from the weekend.

Queen City Hockey Mites won the “Shootout in the Loo” Hockey Tournament.

My son Slade (#33) and his Queen City Mites won the “Shootout in the Loo” (Waterloo IA) Hockey Tournament this past weekend. I created a slideshow featuring all of the kids. Enjoy.

New Year’s Hockey – Shot of the Day

As a new year’s treat, we travelled with Slade’s Mite Hockey Team to Iowa for the annual “Shootout in the Loo” Hockey tournament. Slade’s Queen City Steam team blanked out both opponents earlier in the day 6-0 and 5-0. To top things off, Slade scored a goal. Here is an image from the goal sequence. In about 15 minutes, we will be going to Young Arena to see the Waterloo Bluehawks hockey action.

Springboro Panthers are 5-0

Friday Night lights and another hard fought win by the Panthers. This time the Panthers had to come back from behind in the second half and then rely on their stellar defense to hold off Sidney. The final score was 31-28. Coming up this week is the Homecoming game against the arch rival Lebanon HS. This looks to be Springboro’s toughest challenge yet. The good news is that the Panthers will be returning two defensive starters on Friday, #31 Kyle King and #87 Austin Plenzler. Both have been out with injuries for the last 2 and 3 weeks, respectively. As usual, some choice pics are below. Click on any image to be taken to the Springboro Gallery.

Springboro Panthers are 4-0

The Panters Varsity Football team improved to 4-0 after defeating Butler High School on Friday night at Careflight Field. The final score was 27-6. It was great to once again experience a game taht “wasn’t in doubt” until the final minutes. The Panthers travel to Sydney looking to extend their perfect season.
