Round 2 of the Springboro vs Lebanon HS battle goes to Springboro 4-0. Springboro’s Scott White threw a CG game shutout with 13 Ks. Nice going Scott. Here are some choice images.

Springboro takes round 1 of the Boro vs Lebanon baseball battle

Today, Springboro Panthers defeated the Lebanon Warriors 8-3 in round 1 of the crosstown battle. An overflow capacity crowd was in attendance estimated to be around 3,000. All 650+ images from the game can be found HERE.

Springboro Track Meet

I went to Springboro High School this afternoon to photograph one of my senior clients. Andrew Henderson is a star track performer and since I’ve never photographed track events before, I had to be creative based on the location. It was similar to when I shoot weddings, and have to improvise the lighting based on the location.

Baseball video

I compiled a video from Springboro High School win over Fairmont. This is my first foray into the world of video production, but it was a lot of fun. I started with 1920×1080 @ 24p but as you can probably tell, the image was very “cinematic” and not intended for sports. I then switched over to 1280×720 @ 60p which is more suitable to fast action. Enjoy.

Baseball is back

April can only mean one thing…taxes are due. Actually, it means two more things, baseball season is here and I need to write down the players uniform number that go with their names. Springboro Panhers hosted Fairmont HS this afternoon at the High School. I photographed the action and also took some video. I’ll post some video a little later. Don’t be that guy!!!!

Have you ever talked on your cell phone in a public area, such as a library, bus, restaurant? Yep, me neither, which is why I am writing this post. Today, I saw something that I’ve never see before. Sure, I have seen people talking in inappropriately confined spaces, but this was something new altogether. I photographed the MVKWA event at Nutter Center today and during the National Anthem, this guy pulls out a cell phone and starts a conversation. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but there was no urgency in his voice, such as “…You were in an accident…?” or “…You didn’t tell me you were pregnant…” or “What do you mean SCOTUS rejected our Amicus Curiae?. Instead it was “Yea, sure, Ok. I’ll meet you there…” this went on for almost the entire Anthem at which point the guy said, “I have to go because they are playing the NATIONAL ANTHEM”. Seriously???? Again don’t be that guy!!!!

Springboro Senior Night vs Fairborn

Today, was the Senior Night for five Springboro Basketball Players. Matriculating Seniors are #10 Scott White, #11 Jason Stinebaugh, #15 Cory Hemmelgarn, #22 Adam Patton, and #30 Michael Tepe. Also, graduating were three Senior Cheerleaders, Lindsay Webster, Julia Roy, and Chelsea Buechler. Here are the ladies with their families:

Lebanon vs Springboro Round 2 Basketball

Last night was the basketball rematch pitting the two cross-town rivals of Springboro and Lebanon. The first round, three weeks ago, went to Springboro and last night Lebanon returned the favor by defeating Springboro 44-43 in the last seconds of the game. Springboro Panthers Wrestlers are 2010 GWOC Champions

Just a quick note about the GWOC event that I photographed today at the Trent Arena. It was a snow shortened event so instead of a day day affair, it actually turned into a marathon wrestling session with all GWOC teams going through preliminaries, semis and then finals. I showed up at 7:30AM to setup my lights and left at 8:30PM following the awards ceremony. Here is the image of the winning Panther team. More images to follow.
