In a first test with few users of Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools will test the integration of both services. Time and again users are confused what they should now use. This doubt will disappear in the future.
Users who are interested should apply using a form for this test. If it is assumed, can be found in Analytics data from Webmaster Tools. First, there are few data from the webmaster tools such as search terms, clicks, impressions, CTR and average position.

Of course, the data filter and then visualize different.

To participate in the test, two conditions must be met:

* It is an Analytics account administrator
* and we have verified is the owner of the site.

Long term, Google will merge the two services are likely, thus creating confusion in the world. Medium term, but once the integration is improved between the two.
Registration for the test via this form .

StudioPress released Genesis framework v1.5 in February 8th. This is not a very big release but it does, however, tie up some loose ends, adds some useful new features, and fix some bugs. Below you’ll see what’s been included.

* Completely rewritten stylesheet
* New Genesis Grid Loop feature
* Rewritten breadcrumbs class
* Post Format support (once WordPress 3.1 drops)
* Fixed bug in breadcrumbs for category link display
* Fixed custom category/tag doctitle issue
* Fixed list categories widget menu issue
* Added Tweaks to genesis_do_post_content()
* Added hook to header right widget area
* Passed all HTML entities through new ‘g_ent’ filter

Upgrading

Using the Automatic Upgrader

1. Click the “upgrade now” link in the update notification at the top your your dashboard page.
2. Confirm the upgrade.
3. After the new version is installed, click the link to complete the upgrade.
4. All done!

Upgrading Manually

1. Before you upgrade anything, make sure you have backup copies of your child theme.
2. Delete the old genesis folder from your wp-content/themes directory
3. Unzip and upload the new genesis folder to your wp-content/themes directory
4. Log into the dashboard to complete the upgrade process.

Child Theme Changes

If you have built a child theme and used the @import method to use the default Genesis styles with your child theme, you will want to pay attention to the possible effects the rewritten stylesheet may have on your site. Older versions of the style.css file still work fine, so if your child theme is affected, just use the stylesheet from Genesis 1.4.1 in your child theme. You’ve been warned.

System Requirements

Genesis REQUIRES WordPress 3.0 or later in order to function properly.

Get Genesis framework now!

WordPress is one of the most popular blogging platform, yet this popularity often make it one of the primary target for hackers. It’s being used by thousands of people all around the world. But because of the popularity, it’s getting more attention by hackers and spammers too. WordPress is very secure by itself, but there’s never too much ascertainable. For simple users, who don’t code a lot, plugins is the best way to secure your blog. They’re free, easily usable and safe. In this post, I take a look some plugins aimed at making your site even more secure.

1 – Login LockDown

Description:
Login LockDown records the IP address and timestamp of every failed login attempt. If more than a certain number of attempts are detected within a short period of time from the same IP range, then the login function is disabled for all requests from that range. This helps to prevent brute force password discovery. Currently the plugin defaults to a 1 hour lock out of an IP block after 3 failed login attempts within 5 minutes. This can be modified via the Options panel. Admisitrators can release locked out IP ranges manually from the panel.

2 – WP Security Scan

Description:
Scans your WordPress installation for security vulnerabilities and suggests corrective actions.
-passwords
-file permissions
-database security
-version hiding
-WordPress admin protection/security
-removes WP Generator META tag from core code

3 – Admin SSL

Description:
Admin SSL secures login page, admin area, posts, pages – whatever you want – using Private or Shared SSL. Once you have activated the plugin please go to the Admin SSL config page to enable SSL, and read the installation instructions.
Each time you update Admin SSL, please read the FAQ and installation instructions in case there is some important information relating to the update.

Features:
1. Forces SSL on all pages where passwords can be entered.
2. Works with both Private and Shared SSL.
3. Can be installed on WordPress MU to force SSL across all blogs (only works if you have a Private SSL certificate installed) from WPMU 1.3 upwards.
4. Custom additional URLS (e.g. wp-admin/) can be secured through the config page.
5. You can choose where you want the Admin SSL config page to appear!
6. Works on WordPress 2.2 – 2.7; it will not work on previous versions.

4 – WordPress Firewall

Description:
This WordPress plugin investigates web requests with simple WordPress-specific heuristics to identify and stop most obvious attacks. There exist a few powerful generic modules that do this; but they’re not always installed on web servers, and difficult to configure.
It intelligently whitelists and blacklists pathological-looking phrases based on which field they appear within in a page request (unknown/numeric parameters vs. known post bodies, comment bodies, etc.). Its purpose is not to replace prompt and responsible upgrading, but rather to mitigate 0-day attacks and let bloggers sleep better at night.

8 – Login Encrypt

Description:
Login Encrypt is a security plugin. It uses a complex combination of DES and RSA. It was first developed by ELSERVER for securing login in the hosting control panel, and then released as a WordPress plugin.
The way it works (fast explanation): * A Javascript appended to the wp-login generates, each time a user logs in, a unique DES key. Using that key, the password of the user is encrypted. * The Javascript encrypts the DES unique key using the RSA public key (generated when the plugin is activated). * The encripted password and the encrypted DES unique key are sended to the server. * A hook when login in checks if a encrypted DES unique key is received. If does, decrypts it using the secure RSA private key. * Then, decrypts the password using the DES unique key.

Random Ads plugin is a free plugin which allows you to simply and easily show random ads anywhere in your template files or using widgets.

You can show ANY type of ad: Google Adsense, affiliate ads, banners, images, flash, text, etc… There’s no limit to the number of ads you can put into rotation for an ad spot.

How does it work?

Let’s say you have 3 banner ads that you want to randomly appear in your header. One ad is Google Adsense, one is an affiliate banner and one is an ad for your own site.

Just add the code snippet for each ad to a text file, separate each ad with the pipe “|” symbol and add a function call to your template file. Now, a random ad will be shown in your header.

You can also easily add ads to your sidebar using the built-in widget.

Installation Instructions

1. Upload the plugin files to your plugins directory
2. Activate the plugin
3. Go to Tools > Datafeedr Random Ads
4. Create an Ad Group (a set of ads that you want to rotate)
5. Place a widget in your sidebar or template code in your template files
* Requires WordPress 2.8+
