The 1st ever Cebu Blog Camp!

May 22, 2010 was the day when I attended my first blog event the "1st Cebu Blog Camp". I got to hang out with my blogger friend/ex classmate - Reyna and got to meet a new friend Justein also a fellow blogger.

I can't seem to write the good and the bad about the event in paragraph form so lets try making a list of both the good and the bad.

The GOOD Parts of the Blog Camp
1. Great organizing team - They were really friendly, cool and accommodating.

2. Really inspiring speakers - The speakers were really inspiring and that they have shared to us really informative information about blogging.

3. Good vibes with everyone - Everyone who went to the event were really friendly and yet you dont feel any hint of negativity anywhere.

4. They had lots of free stuff! - Yes Free stuff! Who does not love free stuff? Everyone was so pumped up about the free stuff!

The BAD parts of the blog camp:
1. The energy of the whole event - I think this is more opinion based but then I felt that everyone was dying of listening to the talks(Getting bored- instead they had their attention elsewhere facebook, pacman, youtube, etc). Some activity must have been made in between events to keep everyone alive.

Well that's my overall evaluation of the event. In the end the good parts of the event outweighed the bad parts. I just hope the next blog event would become more activity like and even more informative than the last one. Though this event was really good.

Some things I would want to learn and see on the next blog camp.
1. How to get vistors to your blog
2. How to market your blog
3. More fun activities
4. Some merchandise store? Where we can buy random stuff which is about blogging like shirts, mugs, etc
5. Stalls that sell services that are related to blogging.(Domains, hosts, layouts, themes, etc)

Kudos to the Cebu Blog Camp team for a successful event! Looking forward to the next one.

Cattski - Cebu's best indie SECRET!

After being in Cebu for so long, I have never really took time to listen to Cebu's best kept indie secret "Cattski".

What or who is "Cattski" you may ask? Cattski is a Cebuana musician, who has been around the Cebu music scene for quite a some time. Her songs are quite well known for their meaningful lyrics which are easy on the ears. Some of her songs which are crowd favorites are Comfort Zone, Drunk, and more recently Kismet(Collaboration with Ian Zafra).

You guys have to watch her gigs at least once when you are in Cebu. Trust me you will fall in love with her songs. She may not be known by all in other parts of the Philippines but once you listen to her live, you would understand why she is Cebu's indie secret.

You would be mesmerized listening to her voice talking out the most soulful lyrics. Which are not only meaningful but lyrics which we can easily relate to.

Alright! Well after going to the Cebu Blog Camp event. I was awed to start blogging again! I have met and listened to people from around the Philippines mostly from Cebu though, take pride in being successful bloggers. I want to be just like them.

After several months of being idle and not taking this blog too seriously I decided not to renew my domain leaving my page rank back to 0 and simply everything going back to scratch(if I decide to blog again) being busy with so much other things...

"Sorry" - The Most Abused Word

The word “sorry” used to be one of the best words to cheer me up when someone did something wrong to me. The word “sorry” used to be one of the hardest word to say when you really mean it next to “I love you”. Hearing the word “sorry” used to be so easy on the ears. It used to be easy to forgive people when they say sorry but in this generation full of delinquency and ignorance, the word “sorry” can now be said as easy as 1, 2, and 3. When people say “sorry”, we just do not know if they mean it or not. For some of us the word “sorry” just is not enough anymore to ask for forgiveness. Sometimes we have to bundle the word “sorry” with a gift or even tasks the receiver of the phrase request just to be forgiven. The word “sorry” just is not as powerful as it is before, because it has been abused by people all over the world. We say “sorry” when we do something wrong like when you insult people you say sorry to not get them hurt but why say “sorry” when you would just probably insult the person again at a later time? We should only say “sorry” if we intend not to do the same wrong doing again. Because of all the people abusing the word “sorry”, I just do not think that the word sorry will ever be the same again. Just hearing the word sorry right now is like hearing it out of politeness without the guarantee of not being hurt or offended again.

Lessons from trying to be an adult the wrong way!

Being a teenager, things are not always the way we want it to be. Sometimes (Most of the time for some of us) we want to be like adults and treated like them. We want to be like adults by engaging in activities which are strictly for adults only like drinking, smoking, taking drugs and unsafe sex. I myself have learned from my mistakes of trying to be like an adult. By bringing a box of cigarettes to school, I was punished by being suspended and a handful of others too due to a person who's heart of gold turned cold. Being punished made me learn a handful of lessons.

Here is a list of what I learned from being suspended because of cigarettes :

Jealousy can be a bitch - Because of JEALOUSY people tend to do things they might not intend to do like stealing the bag where I hide my cigarettes in my own bag.
Some people are not whom you think they are - In person you might think they can be your good friends who would make you feel happy and comfortable whom can be trusted and respected. When in fact they are the complete opposite. They end up becoming the bitch they really are, the ones that go really low.
When trouble comes, you know who are your real friends who would stick up for you - When I was still under questioning. I told everyone of what happened and I came to realize that you get help and support from the people who you least expect to get help from. They would actually give the "rats" the uneasy feeling they get for a day or two. You would know that the people whom you think are really your best friends when they would do crazy things just to show their love for me like rant at the person or beat the person up but instead I did not let them do any of that since it was my fault for not knowing that they are that kind of people.
Being honest is your ticket to safety - By being honest to the school head master or disciplinarian I escaped from being expelled or suspended for longer periods of time. By being honest to my classmates of what happened I was able to get the support I needed and exposed the true colors of some people.
Revenge is not the answer - When engaging ridiculous activity such as revenge always be sure that nobody will find out who did it and be sure what you think your doing will not affect other people. Remember revenger = +100 points to immaturity which makes people interested in revenge a big baby who just can't grow up.
Forgive yourself first before forgiving others - Forgiving yourself is a lot harder than forgiving others, which makes forgiving others after forgiving yourself a little more sincere (i think, cant find the right word to fit in) and careful thinking. Ask yourself questions on what you did wrong to make your life end up this way. You might think your life is fine but in reality "some people are not whom you think they are". Let go of all that hate because hate will just kill you and make you look unattractive.
Lastly, Cigarettes are useless - Smoking is a waste of time and money when it will not do you any good. What good can you get from smoking? sure it can make you feel all cool, adult like and all but what can you get from smoking? NOTHING but smoking is a form of entertainment in social gatherings which brings us to a non sinful kind of smokers the "Social Smokers" who only smoke during special occasions who limit the amount of cigars/cigarettes they use to a stick or two at special occasions.

As a conclusion, yes we can be like adults but in a much more responsible way. We can be adults by being more responsible and letting our parents know that we can be trusted. We should engage in cool adult activities in a responsible way, like drinking before you get too drunk to go back home. Smoking until you can barely feel yourself breathing. Engaging in unsafe sex causing you to have an unintended baby which would either be aborted or kept causing conflicts with your current life.

P.S :

This post is not meant to offend anybody but to tell the reader of this article of my lessons learned from trying to be an adult at a young age. I am sorry If the post seems to have like an angry tone I just dont know how to say things with the right words.

Home sweet home~

After several hours of sitting down on planes, after several minutes of walking on airports and after several seconds of looking on the sky. I finally arrived home. I finally arrived home safely and fast. I finally get to enjoy being with my friends again and spending life in an environment I grew up on. I am back in my hometown Cebu! Finally though I am gonna miss my grandparents whom I have stayed with in my 15 days visit of my supposed home town. I hope to see my cousins whom I have not seen this year.

Now that I am back in Cebu, I am back to my regular schedule. Japanese Language school at Saturdays and Free Time on the rest of the days since it is still my summer vacation. Just a few more weeks till school starts again.

Going back home today

Today would be a 6 hour long adventure going back to the philippines from japan. It will be a tiring day transferring flights and waiting.. I hate waiting long hours to get on the plane back home. This happens when we dont get a direct flight due to the bad timing for booking for a flight. On the way to the airport we would be riding a bus which includes waiting... I guess in most of the things we do involves having to wait...

Well as promised I would share to you guys how I reached my goal of $300 from my blog.

Well I would like to thank everybody for making me reach my goal of earning $300 from the internet. Which started last November. I know it took me quite a long time to get this amount but with me not really blogging or going online in the last few months. Last Year of High School!

Good Bye High School and Say Hello College?

In the 2nd week of July would be my last of my rebellious ways, the last of my dependence to my parents and the last year of High School. Would it be fun? Would it be exciting? What would my last year of high school be like? My last year of preparation for college and my last year to be with the people whom I have been since I was at grade school. The last year of high school would be the last of all the usual high school experience.. The years of exploration, drama and experimentation. Our last year won't be the usual high school hang out but it will become more on making the most of what we have left together, enjoying the moments while it still lasts and thinking about our future.

Our last year of college would only leave us months to think about what degrees to master and what colleges to attend. Peer pressure would be involved.

As for me I already made my decision about a year ago on what degree and college I would take but maybe just maybe in the months and days of my last year of high school I might just change my mind. I don't want to make the biggest mistake in my life. Choosing the wrong career that I would do for the rest of my life. Like what my teacher said "College is preparation for the career you would do for the rest of your life".

After months of wanting an Iphone, My dad bought me something similar to an iphone the ipod touch its basically the same as the ipod touch except that you cant use it as a phone, Buh~

I downloaded a few applications and tested it out a bit and weeew! Apple really made a great work of art the ipod touch. Although I only have the first gen ipod touch I have been getting the hang of using it and its better than nothing~

The Swine Flu talk

So we can help ourselves and others getting the swine flu virus we have to take the initiative to
protect ourselves and others from harm.

- so we can be sure that we are breathing clean air and we are not infecting others if we have a normal flu which could be a spark to the h1n1 virus.
