If you thought an introductory video was enthralling, wait till you check this out. Waziwazi was able to get some time alone with Takara Tomy's i-SOBOT, and while a thorough review would've certainly been enough, those folks went the extra mile and videoed quite a bit of the creature acting up. Reviewers found the bot to be "hilarious and easy to operate," and while they weren't exactly keen on the infrared remote, it was said to be "awesome fun" nonetheless. Of course, we aren't asking you to take our word for it, so head on over to the read link for a fairly in-depth review complete with box shots and lots of in-action video.

Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Office Depot Featured Gadget: Xbox 360 Platinum System Packs the power to bring games to life!

Takara Tomy's Walkiebits sure caused quite a stir when they first landed a few years back, and now the firm is cranking out another variation that's sure to be a holiday favorite. The slew of new Rhythmbits arrive in a variety of vivid colors, measure in at just 1.85-inches in length, sport interchangeable shells and bust a plethora of moves when they hear music. These little bundles of fun are set to take Japan by storm later this week for ¥1,575 ($14) apiece.

[Via NewLaunches]

Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Office Depot Featured Gadget: Xbox 360 Platinum System Packs the power to bring games to life!

We've seen plenty of desk distractions over the years, but the USB-powered Whack It game definitely has the potential to be a productivity killer like no other. This relatively small device simply plugs into a powered USB port and challenges workers to smash the critters as they light up. Reportedly, the game boasts 30-second and one-minute gameplay modes and a wee LED scoreboard, too. Of course, figuring out how to slam down on this thing without drawing attention to yourself is another battle entirely, but if you're up for it, you can grab the game now for £14.99 ($31).

[Via Technabob]

Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Office Depot Featured Gadget: Xbox 360 Platinum System Packs the power to bring games to life!

It's a fact that the Big Three of the satnav world (Garmin, TomTom, Navman) sell the majority of GPS navigation devices, but there are loads of firms scrapping it out behind them. One is Takara, which has announced plans to sell its new GP43 device in Europe.

It's got a 4.3-inch widescreen display, and ships with European maps from Navteq on a 1GB SD card. It's also got speed camera and radar locations preloaded, with free updates. Oh, and there's Bluetooth, and the ability to play MPEG4 videos, MP3 music and display JPG photos.

For that reason, we applaud Chinavasion for their spectacular MP3 Cassette Player. It is shaped like a cassette. It is an MP3 player. Does it require any more tricks to seduce you? Probably not, but nonetheless, there is still a little something up its plastic sleeve.

The MP3 player is not shaped like an audiocassette without reason; it can actually be played through a cassette deck! It does not come supplied with any memory at all; you must supply your own SD/MMC card (2GB maximum). It shall only playback MP3 encoded tracks, has a USB2.0 connection, rechargeable battery and only supports Windows 2000 (anyone still use this?)/XP. Launch dates and pricing details not confirmed at present.

If you have wondered what your MP3s would sound like pumping out of archaic stereo deck you have lying about, wonder no more. Much like our once, thick, luscious hair, the cassette used to do quite a nifty job. Unfortunately, like our present day, sad comb over, the cassette is also forced into attempting to impress the ladies by pretending to be something it is not. It probably is not going to work out great for it either, but you have to love the effort. Take a bow Mr. Cassette MP3; we still love you with all of our partially balding heads. Guys, lose the comb overs??no one loves the effort. We've also found it to be a handy depot to dump photos onto in the field, plugging in a flash card offloading it right then and there.

The only drawback of the one we have, the 160GB model, is that it needs more storage space. And that's where this latest ESP comes to the rescue, with 250 gigs. The only drawback besides its ugly looks is its price, $650, but even that is not too bad on a price-per-gig scale. DREAM LINK and SOLIDALLIANCE propose us a couple new USB wonders!

The USB RC Race Car, controllable from your keyboard (!) and featuring a one minute autonomy, recharging will take ten minutes and vroooom, here you go again!

The USB Dancing Robot is the lonely Geek's best friend, it will dance on your MP3s and also warn you about incoming e-mails...aaaah if only it looked like Bender and yell "KILL ALL HUMANS" when you receive an new mail...
