I have tried a number of razors in my time and I have often felt that they have been taking a step back in how well they shave. Do not get me wrong all the latest razors do give you a good shave, but the blades do not seem to last as long as they used too.

I have been using the Wilkinson Sword Quattro Titanium for a few months now and I have to say that it gives a better shave than the Gillette Fusion. However; I have often had trouble with keeping my sideburns trimmed nice after a shave. Thankfully Wilkinson has listened to us and have come up with a unique razor.

What they have is the Wilkinson Sword Quattro Titanium Precision, this offers you a cheap way to shave and groom. The new razor is two razors in one; you have the standard four blade razor on one end with an electric razor on the other. The razor is also waterproof.

After spending a week with the Sword Quattro Titanium Precision, it has to be one of the best razors I have used in a long time. However I do sit there at nights missing my Gillette Excel.

Once you take your first shave with the Precision you will not be left with any irritation or stumble. On the back of the four blades razor is a single blade, this is perfect if you need to trim up below your bottom lip or under your nose, as you can often miss these places.

On the other end of this razor is an electric razor, this is just perfect for grooming. There are three height levels to choose from, depending how long you want to keep your designer stumble. The battery should last up to three months, once they run out you should always make sure that you replace them with the same quality.

To keep the trimming blade working efficiently you need to keep it oiled; just one drop of cooking oil should do just fine. As we mentioned above the Wilkinson Sword Quattro Titanium Precision is waterproof, great if you have a mirror in the shower.

Overall the price of this razor is cheap, but it is the replacement blades that you often need a small loan for. If you were ever thinking of purchasing a razor, then the Wilkinson Sword Quattro Titanium Precision would be the perfect choice.

A fresh interview has appeared from E3 in which Xbox global marketing director Albert Pennello has stated that the company has not used any ‘behind the scenes’ tactics to secure FFFXIII on the 360, but instead commented on the success of their console being the main factor.

“I think a lot of people assume a lot of things about why Square made that announcement,” he said, talking in MundoRare. “I think the most obvious reason that they made the announcement is just looking at the success of our console. I mean, we’re the leading console on a worldwide basis; we’re more than double the install base on the US.

“I actually think it’s a great partnership. Square has done games for us in the past, and I think there’s a point where Square just has to look at the Xbox 360, the install base and attach rates that we’re seeing and actually has to make a decision on their own that it’s the right thing to do for them.

“So, I think people make a lot of assumptions about what they read or the rumours that go around, but the reality of a lot of this is that we’re doing very well, we have a great install base, we have passionate gamers like you guys that buy a lot of games, and a publisher like Square can’t ignore that.

“I think it’s easy to assume that something’s going on behind the scenes, I think the more obvious answer is we’re doing really well and the game creators want their games to be where the most people and the most consoles [are], and right now that’s the Xbox 360.”

You can’t argue with his comments in relation to the success of the Xbox360, However hearing more details on how Square handed over its exclusive rights with Sony, is not something PS3 gamers want to keep reading about.

Head on over to Videogaming247 to watch the video.

There has been fresh news from the official US PS Blog post stating that the European Home beta will start ‘very shortly’. This is great news for European owners as it looks like they won’t get left in the dark once the beta also begins in the US.

The post written by Home director Jack Buser stated, “In Europe, SCEE is beginning their expanded closed beta directly targeting consumers who have been most active on PlayStation Network and PlayStation Store. SCEE will be in email contact with their PSN audience very shortly.”

So after all the delays it finally looks as if Sony are getting Home up and running, and judging by the EU and US betas, they will hopefully be ready for full release soon, for those of you who are hoping to get chosen, now might be the time to start getting active on your PSN accounts!

Also stated in the blog were details on how US owners can get in on the beta. Rather than judge it on activity, PSN users will simply just have to download a Playstation Home theme from the store, that in sense being an application for your chances of getting in.

Stay tuned for more news on Home.

Aston Martin has announced that they are to build a new super-exclusive coupe car; it will be codenamed One-77. The new car will launch in late 2009 and comes with a prices tag of £1.2 million.

Those who put their money down to get their hands on the Aston Martin One-77, will get the opportunity to become involved in the design and development process. Owners will have access to the automakers top designers and engineers, their cars will be minutely tailored to their own requirements.

David Richards, Aston chairman has said “It’s a very special car for customers who want to take the bespoke experience to a higher level. Every car will be entirely individual.”

Aston Martin has said that they have identified the “500 or so” people likely to be attracted to a car. The automaker will take demonstration cars to them, instead of them having to travel to the showroom.

The Aston Martin One-77 coupe will be made from hand-formed aluminum panels and a carbon fiber monocoque chassis. The engine will be a re-engineered, 7.0-litre version of the current V12, which produces about 650bhp. This should be enough to take the car to over 220mph.

There are reports that Mitsubishi could be about to test their i MiEV electric car in California. The car maker wants two utilities to put the small electric vehicles through their paces and hopes to get an idea at just how well they perform in everyday life.

Mitsubishi has now signed a deal with Pacific Gas & Electric and Southern California Edison; they will be adding the i MiEV EV to their fleets in October. The demonstration program will last for three years and in that time the two Californian utilities will test to see how well the drive train works, along with reliability and usage on the grid.

Mitsubishi executive for the i MiEV program, Tohru Hashimoto has said that “its work with the two California utilities will yield valuable data and a greater appreciation of the practicality of an all-electric vehicle in California.”

The i MiEV EV is based on the “i” gasoline-powered cars that Mitsubishi sells in Japan. The electric version of the car will do away with the 64-horsepower engine and will replace it with a 47 kW electric motor and 330-volt lithium-ion battery. The battery takes 10 to 16 hours to charge when plugged into a standard 110 volt electrical outlet. When you plug it into a 220 volt outlet it will take just 6 to 8 hours to charge.

Even though the electric motor is only small, it still manages to produce 63hp and around 133 pound-feet of torque. The car should go from 0 to 60 in less than 9 seconds and have a top speed of 82mph.

Just months after Google had purchased DoubleClick; the search engine giant has already started the integration process. Those that will benefit from the technology will be Google’s AdSense content network; frequency capping and view-through conversion reporting will be the first step.

Once DoubleClick has been fully integrated into AdSense, users will then have the option to opt-out of ad serving from DoubleClick and their content network.

Google have a long road ahead of them as they are planning a huge number of improvements, all designed to give the user more functionality. Some of Google’s other planned additions are frequency capping, view-through conversion measurement capabilities as well as frequency reporting.

None of this advancements are available yet and do not expect them within the next few months. One thing is certain though, Google are showing publishers and advertisers that they are now working at incorporating DoubleClick into its ad operation.

Google has been changing a number of features on AdSense, both for publishers and advertisers. Google hope that they are improving AdSense, but only time will tell if this is true or not.

Following on from Dan’s post yesterday that Apple has a kill switch for the iPhone; this means that the company is able to wipe out malicious or unauthorized iPhone apps. It does not matter if you have paid for the application and have installed it on your handset.

Apple might have been hoping to keep this little gem secret, but this has now started of a huge debate over secrecy and why Apple feels the need to have this feature. There has already been a huge response to this in a short amount of time; it seems that people have mixed opinions over the iPhone kill switch.

Some say that this is a perfect weapon which will be able to quickly kill potential malware and viruses that are sometimes hidden in legitimate applications. Apple have a tough approval process in place on their AppStore, this has been designed to create a high quality place for us to shop for our iPhone apps.

We have all known this for some time now but what we did not know was Apple has additional hidden tools. This means that if an application is misbehaving badly, then the app can be blacklisted.

The reason that we know this is because Apple has an online location which contains a list of unauthorized applications. This suggests that this is where Apple will store blacklist unauthorized or malicious iPhone applications.

Do you think Apple is right to be able to kill your iPhone app?

The Reebok Precision Trainer XT Heart Rate Monitor also comes with a chest strap; this provides fast easy and accurate continuous heart rate monitoring. The user menu on this device automatically generates your fitness index; it then calculates your calorie count and the fat that you have burned.

This fitness product is also great if you are cyclists, as it has a bike mount. The heart rate monitor is not as perfect as it could be, but it does give you a good enough gauge to your health along with your progress.

The way that you are able to toggle to the time setting and still have the Chronometer running is a great feature. If you are a casual exerciser, then the Reebok Precision Trainer XT Heart Rate Monitor with Chest Strap is a good option.

Included with this fitness device is the watch, heart rate transmitting belt as well as a bike mounting bracket. Also includes is 2 CR2032 lithium batteries, that is one for the watch and another for the transmitter belt.

Woot currently have this as their one day special for you $19.99

This is a wireless mouse with a difference as for some reason Asus have decided to design a mouse that keeps track of your heart rate. I can understand watches that measure heart rate, but I’m not too sure what the demand is for a mouse that does it, obviously Asus have other plans.

Contained inside the Vit W1 mouse is a pulse rate sensor that will send collected information to your computer wirelessly, then using pre-installed software on your computer will determine whether you need medical attention or not, by using a series of emoticons on the screen.

As for the functions of the wireless mouse, it is accompanied by five buttons, 1200dpi sensitivity, a small usb receiver and a maximum range of 30 feet.

At the moment there is no word on pricing or nearby release on this product, so you’ll have to hold tight if you are planning on rushing to buy one.

I cannot see too many functions for this product, mind you, I suppose you could use your imagination with this one, what would you guys use a heart-rate monitoring mouse for hmmm? Post your comments below.

The public beta for SlingPlayer 2.0 is finally released and gives you a chance to get to grips with it. This will be welcome news for eager fans ever since it was announced last year at CES 2007, but the player will be without one of its big features, Clip+ Sing.

I guess not all features will make it into the beta after all, so it looks like only the local DVR features are present, so you’ll be able to test out the new 60-minute buffer and EPG which is still exciting.

Other minor changes to the player include a tweaked UI, and the removal of Slingbox Finder Ids in exchange for user accounts, Skin supported has also been dropped.

At the moment, it only runs on Windows, but expect more announcements on this software soon. To read more details on SlingPlayer and view a video of it in action, follow the link below.

Today we have some updates on the Acer Aspire One UMPC, MSI Wind and HP iPAQ 214. Expansys have the MSI Wind in stock and it features a 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of memory, 80GB hard drive, XP Home, 1.3MP camera and finished in black.

Still in constraint expansys have managed to get their hands on a limited number of the MSI Wind Notebooks. Living in the new age of the internet, users need to have an effective internet connection for professional and personal use. MSI offers the new Wind Notebook to meet the demands of modern people, by providing a lighter and more convenient notebook computer with a longer battery life. Weighing approximately 1 kilogram, this makes it ideal for outdoor use (view more details here).

Acer Aspire One UMPC is also in stock with the new Atom processor (an Eee PC killer). There has been a lot of attention around this particular UMPC - and it is finally here! The Acer Aspire One UMPC competes in the ASUS Eee PC and MSI Wind space, and has an 8.9-inch screen, full QWERTY keyboard, Linux operating system and WiFi connectivity. Now only £234.99 on expansys.

HP iPAQ 214 Pocket PC is a highly-popular PDA with a large 4-inch screen and Windows Mobile 6. The HP iPAQ 214 also has an SDIO slot for adding memory or SD accessories like barcode scanners! Now only £189.99 after claim (expires 31 August 2008). View more information here.

We have picked up on an article over at PS3Daily, stating that the eagerly anticipated title Little Big Planet, may not turn out to be a PS3 exclusive after all.

An image over there appears to show that the title may be heading towards the PC, but since there is no official word on it, just take it as a normal rumour until an official statement is brought out.

Personally, the image looks like a clever fake to me, besides the last thing PS3 gamers would want is losing another exclusive title, after the Final Fantasy saga, even more so, the game is being produced by SCEA so I doubt that there is any truth to this.

Stay tuned to hear more news as we get it, what is your initial reaction to this rumour, if it appears to be true, would PS3 gamers welcome it onto the PC? Post your comments below.

Research firm CSS has revealed that Nokia is currently enjoying a 43% market share in the UK, which is double what one of their closest competitors, Samsung is achieving at the moment.

This is clearly a step in the right direction for Nokia as they hope to dominate the UK market for many months to come. Elsewhere in the charts, LG are in fourth place after some positive sales, while Samsung’s growth rate slowed causing them to remain in second. Sony Ericsson however have showed the biggest decline in net profit.

Here is a statement from CSS Insight Analyst Ben Wood commenting on Nokia’s current dominance,

“Nokia is still head and shoulders above the rest. It is not just leading the market but controlling it. Sony Ericsson has really been put under pressure by Nokia’s new mid-range handsets and has struggled as a result. Samsung is the clear number two in the market, while LG has established itself in the big time. It has hit a sweet spot with a lot of its handsets recently.”

Many web users hate being spied on and this has been shown over and over again when their privacy is possibly made public (YouTube having to show its log files to a court is one example, we’re sure you can think of many more).

So when you think about your nice new Apple iPhone 3G and the possibility that it may be phoning home every now and then, how does that make you feel?

The site iPhone Atlas has broke some news about the iPhone’s 2.xx firmware being able to check for unauthorized applications, and disable them after phoning home to Apple.

Its being reported that a configuration file tucked deep inside CoreLocation shows this to be true. You can read more details on iPhone Atlas and in iPhone Forensics manual by Jonathan Zdziarski.

Now is Apple doing this for our security or other reasons?

Its been a year since the Vixia HF10 camcorder was launched and today we hear that Canon has added another three high-definition camcorders to the Vixia line, the Canon Vixia HF11, HG20 and HG21.

All of the above models use Advanced Video Codec High Definition format when recording to memory cards, hard drives and flash drives.

The Canon HF11 HD camcorder features a 32GB flash drive (that’s 16GB more than the HF10), and a SDHC card slot for expanding the camcorder with another 32GB of storage. You will need a Class 4 SDHC card if you wish to record full high-definition video, and this will give you 12 hours of footage on the lowest-quality setting and 3 hours on the highest setting.

The Vixia HF11 can shoot still images at 3-megapixels, and write video at a 24Mbps bit rate (this is the maximum an AVCHD codec can record at). The HF11 will cost around $1300.

The two other new HD camcorders are the $1300 Vixia HG21 with a 120GB hard drive that records 11 hours of footage at the highest setting, and the $950 Vixia HG20 with a 60GB hard drive and records 5.5 hours of video at the best setting. Both of these camcorders record to SDHC cards as well.

While we do not have an exact release date it’s rumoured they will be available in September this year.

Normally when it comes to greener cars such as hybrids/electric you cannot hear them coming round the corner such as today’s models, but the all new Lotus hybrid car has a roar which will let you know when it comes round the corner, a green car with a roar so to speak.

Technology of today and indeed for the near future really makes me feel what will come next, I have always said to myself that hybrid cars are very good indeed for the environment but not for pedestrian, and in that I mean electric cars are way to quite and could be potentially dangerous, obviously Lotus has heard of this problem and come up with a solution by giving us a hybrid car with some grunt.

Lotus has designed a car with technology in mind that also gives you a thrilling sound to go with it; yes we mean a roar of a well tuned-up engine. The car manufacturer explains that its “safe and sound hybrid technology” simulates the growl of a combustion engine, making it “instantly recognisable that the vehicle is in motion”.

Lotus have added a device that kicks in automatically to produce a sensational artificial engine noise when the hybrid car runs on its electric motor, normally when the hybrid car’s combustion engine takes over sensors that are fitted to the engine and suspension turn off the sound.

The way the new Lotus car works is with the engine producing noise thanks to a waterproof loudspeaker; this is cleverly positioned next to the vehicles radiator which gives you the roar sound from under the bonnet.

Now you have to sit back and look at this all new digital camera from Nikon, welcome to the Nikon Coolpix S60. This little beauty will set you back £299.99 and will be due in September 2008, the main feature on this digi-cam has to be the 3.5-inch touch screen display that dominates the entire back of the camera and of course the 10 megapixel sensor and 5x optical zoom.

Not only are the specs pretty good but the whole look of the Nikon Coolpix S60 looks even better, Nikon’s product manager for consumer products said:

“The S60 embodies a perfect marriage between technology and style,” while still offering all the usual array of software enhancements found in the Nikon cameras recently including Face Recognition, D-Lighting and Image Stabilisation as standard.

The Nikon Coolpix S60 has a great movie function and time-lapse movie mode which shoots 30 fps at up to 640×480 pixels, the camera has 17 Scene Modes, including modes for environments such as beach/snow, sunset, dusk/dawn and fireworks shows. The size of the camera is 97 (w) x 60 (h) x 22 (d) mm and weighs 145 grams.

When you buy the camera in September you will get obviously the camera, USB and audio/video cables, rechargeable battery and charger, strap, COOLPIX software suite, stylus touch pen and 2GB free online storage at Nikon’s ‘my Picturetown’.

Today Alan reported the news about the all new Google Music Onebox service that is free and legal for downloading music in mainland China that are also supported by advertising, but our question is “When is Google Music Onebox coming to other countries?

Now we know this will never come to any other country for the simple fact China has no copyright laws, Music Onebox will route users to Top100.cn which is a website that already has licensing agreements with about 100 music labels and allows Chinese wibblers to download or stream tunes free of charge. Yes you know what are about to say now, all internet users outside China will indeed be blocked from accessing Top100.cn

Google come on, you have the money and the resources to give all other countries what they need and yes you know that you will earn all the money you desire through advertisements.

Read Alan’s full article here.

Toyota Motor Corp. has seen a huge drop in their profit, the biggest in five years. The world’s second-largest carmaker has blamed poor sales of sport-utility vehicles and trucks, due to high fuel prices.

Toyota has reported that their net income has fallen by 28 percent to 353.7 billion yen or $3.2 billion, shares are now just 112.28 yen a share. The year earlier net income was 491.5 billion yen, or 153.89 yen per share.

According to Bloomberg, Toyota’s operating profit in North America feel by 57 percent, as we mentioned it is the sale of larger vehicles that have seen the biggest drop. Katsuaki Watanabe, President of Toyota Motor Corp. has had to halt the production of Tundra pickups and Sequoia SUVs for three months as a result of high oil prices.

Toyota has always been known for their larger vehicles, where Honda seems to produce smaller and fuel-efficient cars. This has seen an 8.1 percent gain for the automaker.

It is not just Toyota who is being hit with huge profit losses; Ford and GM are two more to add to that list. Automakers are now facing a fork in the road; they now have some tough decisions to make. One thing is certain; they will all have to think about producing smaller fuel-efficient cars.

IBM bosses have sent a warning to Linux Desktop Developers; they have told the open source community to make Linux like a desktop OS for consumers and businesses. What they mean by this is “Not to Copy Windows.”

Bob Sutor, Vice President of open source and standards at IBM was at LinuxWorld Conference in San Francisco. He told the attendees there that the open source community has to make Linux as popular as Operating Systems used on desktops for both consumer and business users.

In the conference Sutor said “Stop copying 2001 Windows. That’s not where the usability action is.”

Yesterday we reported that IBM was joining forces with three major Linux distributors Canonical/Ubuntu, Novell and Red Hat, to come up with a Microsoft Free PC by 2009.

All four companies have agreed to provide hardware partners with the software needed to build these desktops. IBM carry a lot of weight when it comes to the Linux community, this is because they put a huge amount of investment into the program.
It seems as though 85 percent of Fortune 500 companies have had to patch their networks, this fix was a direct result of a security flaw. The flaw allowed cyber criminals to redirect visitors to counterfeit or malicious Web sites. This patch still leaves Internet users vulnerable to a large number of infrastructure providers who have yet to fix this security risk.

This data has been highlighted at the Black Hat security conference in Las Vegas, it was Dan Kaminsky, the Seattle based IOActive researcher who first discovered the risk. Kaminsky said that bad guys would be able to corrupt records that they could find in the domain name system (DNS). They will then be able to fill them in with inaccurate information.

It was on July 8 that a number of companies that included Microsoft, Cisco, Sun Microsystems along with a dozen others had to ship software updates to fix this fault in the DNS design.

DNS is the communication standard, it acts as what could only be described as a phonebook for the Internet.

Kaminsky said that while some 120 million which is about 42 percent of broadband users are now protected by this patch, just half of the DNS servers are now protected by this patch. In his time on the floor at the Black Hat conference Kaminsky described the many ways that a bad guy was able to steal your personal and financial data from the Internet.

It has been reported that almost a quarter of children aged between eight and twelve have been evading the age restrictions that have been put in place from social networking sites. Those sites that children have managed to evade are Facebook, Bebo and MySpace.

These result were taking from a poll which was commissioned by Garlik, it shows that over 75,000 children are illicitly using the sites. The alarming fact shows that children are allowing themselves to become exposed to communicate with strangers. This news is a little alarming.

Parents have been doing their utmost to try and stop this from happening, many have been secretly logging on to their children’s social networking pages to see if they have been doing anything reckless on there.

Tom Ilube, chief executive of Garlik has said “The fact that parents feel compelled to monitor their children on this scale should send a powerful message to the big social networking sites.”

Both Bebo and Facebook have an age limit of 13 while Myspace has set their age limit at 14. Also an alarming fact is that a quarter of 8 to 15 year olds have admitted of having strangers as friends on their social networking page. A fifth of that figure also said that they have met these strangers that they befriended online.

It is now time that these social networking sites did more to stop this from happening. But this is such a hard thing to monitor, this will take sometime to come up with a perfect solution.

We have known for some time that Asus are to launch the ultimate Eee PC called the S101. It seems that Asus do not want this Ultimate laptop top be associated with their Eee PC notebooks.

The boss of Asus thinks that the S101 might just be a rival to Apple’s Macbook Air. When he showed of the new notebook, he re-enacted the Apple Macbook Air launch by pulling the Macbook Air from an envelope to show off how thin it is.

There will be two models in the Asus S101 range, one will have a 32GB SSD and will cost $699 and the 64GB SSD version will cost $899.

Both have a 10.2-inch LCD screen with LED backlit. Both notebooks are powered by Intel’s Atom processor.

Asus will have a hard time trying to shake of the Eee PC name from the S101 range. As for the whole rival thing for the Macbook Air, well I will let you be the judge of that.

Sony Cyber-shot have now got two more digital cameras in their T-Series range, the 10.3-megapixel T700 and the entry-level T77. Both these Digicams retain Sony’s slick T-Series form factor.

The Cyber-shot DSC-T700 has now replaced the aging DSC-T300, this new model offers 10.3 megapixels along with 4GB of internal storage. The new model has 4x optical zoom and has a large 3.5-inch LCD touch screen.

Sony wants users to use their DSC-T700 as a portable photo frame, this is done with software that will help you quickly transfer, sync and organize your pictures from your PC. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T700 will ship in September and will cost around $399.

The entry-level Cyber-shot DSC-T77 will replace the Sony’s DSC-T70. The newer Digicam is like the old model where is has a 3-inch LCD touch screen. The new model is slim, just 0.6 inches in fact.

The DSC-T77 has been improved over the older model, as it now has 10.1-megapixel resolution. The T77 also has many more features such as automatic shooting mode, red-eye reduction technologies and anti-blink.

The Sony Cyber-shot T77 should also ship in September and will cost around $299.

When I first laid eyes on the Asus Eee Stick I thought it was a couple of new controllers for the Nintendo Wii. Ok so I am a little dumb, but I bet I was not the only one who thought it.

The name that Asus has chosen “Eee Stick” is a strange one as they are a couple of sticks that are mated to a wireless receiver. So what is the Eee Stick I hear you ask, well they are basically a gamepad that has been split in half. This is something that Sony had hoped to launch at some stage.

The Eee Stick has motion sensing technology like the Wii Remote; I bet Nintendo wish that they had designed theirs to look as sleek as these. Asus has said that tailored games that require the Eee Stick will come bundled in the controllers.

As yet there is no idea when the Eee Stick will be released, but Asus reps have hinted that the UK could see them sometime in September.

Asus will make an announcement in the next few weeks.
